Exclude an activity from profile stats and PRs

Please provide an option to exclude a specific activity from statistics.  I have been testing different GPS gear and it has been producing inaccurate recordings.  Overall, I want to keep the imported data from the .gpx file but I don't want to use the statistics from the activity.  For example, a bad GPS recording has me doing a sub 5-minute mile and I don't want that as my PR or used in my achievements.  Endomondo has a checkbox for "include in statistic", which is checked by default.  In Strava, the only way I see to remove an activity's data from statistics is to delete the activity.

Can you please provide an "exclude from statistic" checkbox in an activity?

For Estimated Best Efforts for Runs, you can now reach out to our support team directly and request that all efforts on a given run be removed from your Best Effort stats. Eventually, we will be able to release this tool to our members.

For other types of stats, consider marking the activity as a Workout to remove it from cycling or running stats.

  • I would love this feature! I have a lot of runs tracked on other sites that I'd like to import. Problem is, many of these were tracked with my phone, and the GPS signal was at times very poor. This then reports me jumping all over the map doing many more KMs than what I actually did.

For now I created a new profile just so that these imports don't mess with my current stats tracked with my Suunto watch.

  • My PowerTap went off on one of my rides and calculated figures way too high.  I would like to keep GPS data, but have it excluded from all calculations.

  • I'm a bit shocked this doesn't already exist. Please do add "exclude from statistics". There are many occasions where it would be good to keep the gps data but not include an activity in the stats.

  • This would be a great feature - there are some programs that let you create a ride based on drawing a map.  When these activities are imported into Strava they mess up stats because the time on each segment is allocated proportionally based on its length with complete disregard for elevation change.

  • I just imported my all runs form Nike+ after they destroyed an app with the update and my Estimated Best Efforts are way to distorted. Give me a hint how to exclude all my past data form EBE.

  • Write from 2017 :) nothing so far

There is remove from Leaderboards, but not from statistics. and I have personal best record for 5k in 15mins due to GPS issue.

    Have to delete the activity.

  • I´m also interestedin this, as my current records all date back to a run from 2013 with horrific GPS issues.

  • Any update? My garmin dropped the file from an epic ride and I had to borrow and crop the ride from someone that I rode with, but he is much faster so set all of my PRs.

  • This would also be great in cases where you add relay events. For example, I ran in a relay form with 8 people from Paris to Rotterdam. I'd love to have these runs in my Strava, because it was eppic. However, Of course I did not run the full 500k by myself. Now my total distance doesnt match at all. But more importantly, Because of the relay nature, I was in the car or bike for quite some time too. And now my Strava recored that as new Personal Bests for almost all distances :( Would be nice to exclude activities from the Personal Best statistics!

  • Switch the activity to "workout". Achievements and segments will not show, but will keep GPS and some other stats.

  • @Jaak V.  How long does it take to update stats? Do workouts get excluded from PR's? Cheers.

  • +1 for "exclude from statistics". As with Wim Plender, relay activities cause distortion on my best efforts

  • Great suggestion @Jaak V.  @Paul Ellis, it updated right away for me.  The new "workout" excludes all segment scores.  Exactly the same as an Exclude from Statistics would provide unless it allows you to include or exclude specific items.  (ie:  keep these efforts, but not this one like those buildings in the Chicago Marathon for example...)

  • Great suggestion all, we will take a look at this request and see what is possible. Please keep voting and commenting to show your support.

In the meantime, the suggestion below to mark such activities as a "workout" on Strava is a valid workaround. The workout activity type is not eligible for running or cycling segments, run best efforts, or profile stats.

  • While I wish I had averaged 454W on a ride...I certainly did not.  So it is messing up my stats.  Was searching for how to keep it out of stats when I found this.  Thanks...

  • Come on Strava, how hard can it be to implement this feature?  This is how Endo does it - all activities are included in Statistics by default - but if you want to exclude it, just untick the "Include in Statistics" check box.

  • Adding it as a "workout" doesn't seem to remove it from my stats. I.e., it's still included in the monthly total. Is it the intended behavior?

  • Does deleting the ride from my history remove the PR's?

  • On the activity screen there is a Distance (?) link you can click which pops up a window with a Correct Distance button - this seems to remove the false PRs I got when I started an activity before I had a proper GPS lock.

  • Any update on this?  I would really like to remove the last several years of data from best efforts as my phone GPS was not very accurate.  I want to keep the miles, but would love to just reset all the best efforts to the point where I am confident in the data.

  • I recorded some PR's by mistake when out on a 5up TT.  I went to Actions (the spanner / wrench symbol) and "flagged" the ride - and that seems to have discounted all the PRs I set, and has reverted back to previous PR's set when I was riding solo.  May not be perfect, but it has fixed my issue for now, and also removed those times from the leaderboards

  • I was sure this feature "exclude from statistics" already existed but I couldn't find it. Please add it, it would be nice to have it. I had to delete a run because a gps issue :(

  • Just Flag your own ride. I have few activities imported from Nike Running and after import they were messy. I fllagged most of them.

  • This would also be useful when combining multi-day rides into a new overall ride (which you currently have to do manually by combining the gpx files and re-uploading with a new id - another feature that would be great on Strava!). It would be good for the individual days to contribute to the overall stats but the combined ride not to. Thank you!

  • Same for me, due to GPS date errors, I'd love to be able to exclude results from an actvity...

    Please Starva team....
