Connecting HRM-strap to Strava

I bought a Garmin HRM-strap as part of a bundle with my Garming cycling/GPS device (Edge 830), so usually the HRM is paired to my Edge (no problems there, it sends the data to Strava afterwards without any hickups), but I'd like to pair the HRM to Strava when I go hiking.

When I try to pair it to my phone I can see the HRM listed, but it refers to the app of the HRM, when I try to pair it to Strava it doesn't show up at all. What steps should I take?

  • Agree with you. I use atrainingtracker for Android now. It's open source. They can make an application without many resources wich does not "crash" when you pair sensors... You can synchronize to strava but you shouldn't ;)

  • Why bother using the app and be a premium subscriber then?

  • What does one have to do with the other? Strava gave me my money back for Premium because they no longer offer the BLE/ANT+ services. So, I'm fine with Strava. I use wahoo instead, which send my data to my free strava account.

It's obvious that Strava doesn't have a technical problem, but a good deal with Garmin... Conspiracy theory? Maybe... :D
