We're investigating an issue that's preventing activities from syncing to Strava from Samsung Gear and Galaxy watches. At this time, we do not know the cause. If you're experiencing this issue, please try updating your app to the latest version. If that doesn't help, try re-syncing any missing activities:

    • View the History folder on your watch.
    • Select Tap to Sync on the missing activities.
    • To confirm the activity has synced to Strava, you should see a "Sync Successful" message at top of the screen and Tap to Sync will no longer appear.

If you're still having trouble after giving that a try, please contact us by selecting Submit a Request on this page. We will be posting updates as they become available and you can Follow this known issue to receive email notifications: https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/360035299171

  • I've been having issues since the most recent update.

Sunday - 14km run.  For the first half it double tracked my kms - showed 14kms at halfway when it should have only been 7.  At the end of my run, my watch showed 21km, when synced it showed 14km but 21 splits!

Tuesday - 5km race, friend added me to his run, and after that I no longer had the option to sync my own run.  I ran a PB that night and can't get the data off my watch (this is different to the sync issue as I don't have the option to sync this run at all).

Wednesday - 8km run, will not sync at all, it just keeps trying but doesn't go through, it causes the watch to freeze too.  I recorded a short walk to see if that would sync and push the other runs through, no luck.

    App is unusable!

  • I am also having issues with syncing on my Samsung Gear S3, starting from 16 Oct which just happens to be the date of the latest release (1.2.3) Sync keeps failing

Really hope this gets resolved... this is serious... if the activity isn't recorded on Strava, did it really happen?? :)

  • Looks as if a lot of people have issues since yesterdays update. I am using the Samsung Galaxy Watch (42mm) and Android Phone App and I can't upload anything from my watch... - not happy.

  • I have also failed to sync my activity from the Samsung galaxy watch yesterday (16/10), noticed an application update both on my watch and cell phone, updated them both, it didn't help. :-(

  • Same story, ran 6.25 KM yesterday, it is recorded accurately on my watch but won't sync to the app or the online version of Strava. The watch is showing the activity but says "Tap to sync" then "Sync failed, retrying" then it turns off.

  • I've had the same problem, stopped syncing yesterday. I downloaded the new version onto my watch, hoping that this would resolve the issue, but neither yesterdays or todays runs are synced. How do we report this to Strava to get it sorted?

  • I'm paying for Summit but can't upload my workouts.  Sync is not working at all since 1.2.2, GPS has been unreliable since 1.2 and the battery usage is ridiculous.  I lost a 40 mile run when the battery died at 32 miles, admittedly I should just have ran faster...

The ratings of the app on the Samsung Gear Store reflect the current state of play, can you please acknowledge you have an issue and are addressing it?  It WAS working fine before v1.2...

  • I have the same problem on my gear S3. Strava v1.2.4
    "Syncing, please wait"
A couple of seconds later "syncing failed, retrying..."
A few seconds later "syncing failed, retrying..."
Then nothing... Just my activities trapped on my watch.

  • last update for Strava won’t stay on watch active.   I enter the code, but when it gets to question “allow strava to track your location” it locks up and won’t allow me to select anything.  I uninstall and reinstall and can be successful for one track, but the next time I go to use the ap, it asks for the code again and locks up. I’ve done the uninstall reinstall about 5 times since the update earlier this week.  Super frustrating as I bought this watch specifically to track via Strava and use Strava for accountability with my run group.  Besides the short mile for tracking, the ap worked perfectly prior to update.

    Please fix soon!

    super sad about this
