  • Same. I miss the audio cues from the phone app, and I don't like having to open the Strava app on the phone after the activity. And even if I had an Apple Watch 2, I'd still take my phone with me for emergencies. The untethered functionality isn't worth the tradeoffs.

  • I am with Tom and others. Losing the ability to tether Apple Watch to iPhone is a big loss. No way I am going to buy another watch. Hate having to look at Watch during ride when phone sits on a mount. But if I just use phone a lose heartbeat information from Watch. Give us back tethering please!!! Did anyone ask us how we thought of these changes, tell us they were coming? Great app until now. Don't force us to look elsewhere?

  • Agreed. Went for a ride last night and was incredibly frustrated.

  • Same here.  Strava doesn't seem to look at these forums though.  The updated app is totally broken for non series 2 watch users.

  • Why even have a Feedback forum when no one from Strava comes here? Feedback to other annoyed users seems pointless.  I noticed a new Strava version released today with no fixes for this issue.

  • OK - So the new version doesn't fix any of this?  If you use runkeeper and then import the distance seems much more accurate (how it used to be)

  • With the new app for Apple Watch 2 Strava managed to convert the app to a complete piece of crap. I can't believe how this could happen.

The thing that bothers me most: While running, when I take my arm up to read the watch, then it seems to take very long until the watch has updated the information, and then the display is just enlighted for a fraction of a second and then goes dark again. From a UX perspective this is a catastrophe: I have a watch for running but I cannot read what it is displaying.

Strava - please please turn this Apple Watch back to something that can actually be used.
