  • Dear Strava,

I agree with Peter. I use XC skiing as a cross training as a cyclist and it is just as valid a sport as running. Please switch the format to include other activities into our training logs

  • I totally agree! I actually use running / biking as my cross training for climbing, however Strava logs them as the opposite and therefore those hours don't get included in the training log. :( Would love to see this change. I've also been dying for a "recovery" tag as you currently only have workout, long run, race, commute.

  • I did a skimo race and set type = nordic ski. I'm bummed that this doesn't appear in my training log that only shows run/bike/swim. I'd also like to tag the nordic ski activity as a race which doesn't seem possible.

  • Been waiting for this update a long time now!

logging my cross country skiing and windsurfing.

Maybe add an option to select which sports you want to be included in "multi sport"

  • I totally agree with Petr, please replace XT with standard circles. Any updates about this feature?

  • I agree that the training log should include standard circles for all sports and all of them should count towards the time-based goals. It would be nice to get some feedback from Strave on those issues.

  • I back all of the above calls for Strava to allow users to determine which sports to include in their training log. As it stands, I have to manually add up the time and kilometres I accumulate XC skiing in the winter and none of these efforts are reflected in my monthly/annual kilometres stats.

  • Same here, I miss other sports in the training log. I wonder what's the time that takes from planning to implementation in Strava developers.

  • Well, i see that the official Strava representative has replied the same message 2 years ago to Petr that she now said to Carlos !!?? To me this is pitiful that they have done nothing to such a strong request. There are a lot of us out there who Don't Run or Swim but do a lot of other sports. I can imagine it is a database design problem which is why it is taking soooo long to address it . BUT still there are ways to solve the problem ... simply hire a specialist instead of relying on your internal IT people.

  • Admittedly I do not pay for the premium part of Strava, but I might if it included everything on the log. It is a bit weird to thing that it really only supports running, cycling, and swimming. I mean fitness is fitness. No nordic skiing?

  • Is there any update on XT activities being shown properly on the Activities Log?

It really reduces the functionality not to see everything in detail.

The potential is there for the Activities Log to be really useful if it wasn't limited to running and cycling. Surely it can't be that difficult to properly show all the 'XT' activities if the data is already there?!

  • Yes. Please show all activities on the training log. I run, I lift weights, I do Crossfit, and I do gym cardio. Of these activities, only running is supported on the activities log, so it looks like I only do one or two workouts per week, when I'm really working out five days per week.  Please update this to show ALL activities.

  • Please let us see all of our activities instead of just XT. My non-running workouts are just as important to me as my runs, and it really sucks to not be able to see them in my log.

Two years down the road and Strava hasn't taken action to change the multisport log. Please upvote my post in order for Strava to wake up!

  • Seriously people, get on this. I'm late to Strava but adopted because it had a reputation as well-designed and usable. I'm finding out it's full of point less little quirks like this. Not happy about it.

  • Hello Strava dev leader, thinking to leave STRAVA due to reasons above. Wake up! Its not so difficult to run this feature. Thanks.

  • As someone who works with development, I'm baffled by this. It's obviously stupid the way it is, and sensible to make the change. It should be easy enough to fix. Have they really been waiting 3.5 years to roll it into a "redesign" that never happens? The rest of the app is pretty clean and updates regularly, and they push promotional messaging like crazy, so there seems to be no shortage of resources.

Ordinarily when some obvious, useful feature is denied, delayed, or dumbed down I look for the business reason. But there's no potential upsell here, no competitive issue with another of their products, nothing. Mystifying.

  • It's obviously for business reasons, being in dev too it seems way too easy to be in re-design for years.

I guess they want to focus on the majority of their users that just run cycle and swim, and not "confuse" them with other activities ?

Or so they believe, because default sport is either running or cycling...

Trying to find good reasons why this feature has been in redesign for years..

Also trying to find good reasons to stay on Strava actually, as most of my activities are XT ! Great !

Strava Support ? Care to comment ?

  • Yes, I would love to see this fix too! It's frustrating to not get a real weekly mileage because some sports are classified as XT. Makes me want to just tag everything as a "Run" haha, but that's not ideal either obviously. Come on Strava! :)

  • Dear Strava,

3,5 years ago an employee of yours (https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/207719318/comments/212245347) stated there are plans to re-design the Training Log to better support all activities. What's the status on re-designing the Training Log? Clearly, there are quite a few users who would to be able to track their activities in the Training Log instead of showing "XT".

Show you care about your users and get this issue fixed once and for all!

  • It has been 4 years since the employee at Strava (https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/207719318/comments/212245347) stated there are plans to re-design the Training Log to better support all activities, what has happened?

I don't see any replies from Strava.... this sucks. We pay a lot for this service, love it and want to make it better, but you wont reply. Why?

Does anyone know a competitive service that will do what its users ask for?
