  • Attention Strava User Interface Product Manager & Engineering Team: Respectfully...

It is pretty astonishing that this still hasn't been address by your User Interface team. It is a easy fix with toggle on or off. It is bad enough on the iPhone or even on a Web Page but on an iWatch it is such a waste of landscape and frustrating usability. Strava can do better.

I am a triathlete and only want to see walking, running (indoor/outdoor), swimming (pool & open water) and cycling both indoor training and road. How can I configure or remove all other related sports activities from my line of sight in the application UI.

    Thanks for at least responding.

  • In addition to giving the paying user what they want, Stava also gains from a performance perspective as it doesn't have to retrieve as many records from it's database!

  • +1, select ONLY commutes for my stream by default.

Also, you could become much more of a social hub if club posts showed up on my dashboard. It's ridiculous that I have to select clubs one-by-one to view posts.

  • Seven years and counting for no action planned to be the only response from Strava. It looks like we cant even sort the comments field by most recent to save scrolling through seven years of comments to get to the most recent!

  • I haven't waded through all seven pages of this, but has anyone from Strava engineering or UX dropped by to explain why this is:

    - problematic to implement from an engineering perspective
    - problematic to realise from a UX perspective

  • Really an important missing feature in my opinion as well. Super annoying to get your feed cluttered by people posting their daily 3.5km commutes!

  • Please bring this feature out.
    It is needed.
I want it be able to choose certain people to see less of. Eg some riders post their every day rise to and from work and flood my news feed.
I don’t want to see this but I still want to follow them.

  • You know what...

When your customer asks for a feature and for 7 years, you haven't provided any valuable feedback on their requests, never mind any specific value related to the request they are asking you for, what you are saying is clearly you don't value your customer.  Its really as simple as that.  And this is the perfect ingredient for that developer who is already creating an app that can do what you do, and probably a bit more. Your actions here are old school, and sadly, it could cost you your market share and potentially your business life span. Apparently, Strava is not aligned to the "New" way business is done..

PS: This is not that complex, seriously... its a stream or feed, and each object or content has some type of attributes... start simple and add one additional filter at a time.

  • Actually, i have the perfect solution! :)

I may begin a campaign to make you re-think your strategy on communicating better with your customer, and especially building a product that aligns to what THEY actually desire.

This campaign will start influencing Strava users to downgrade their membership to free version until strava becomes more of a company that responds to its customers.

I wonder how much revenue loss it will take, before they respond...

Any thoughts or ideas on this from others... And i'm serious!

  • I'm also a Summit member whose forehead is getting flat from banging it against the wall. I wonder if the the Strava "team" even reads this bulletin board.?
