  • Only thing wrong with Strava is my calendar starts on the wrong day...

  • Still no comment from Strava. Two more months until my Premium membership expires. That is not my desire, but it's the only leverage that I have. I will vote with my feet.

  • Well I was referred here by Elle, so she must still be keeping up. I would love the option to choose a different start day of the week (I would choose Sunday, but you could choose whatever you want). I suspect from Elle's silence she has nothing new to report. And so we wait...

Don't forget to vote for it at the top of the page!!!

  • Just allow the option to start the week Sunday or Monday like Garmin does. All the disagreement among responses to this shows that people have differing preferences. I live in the USA all my calendars are Sunday through Saturday, I would like my Strava account to give me that option. Live somewhere else? great! use Monday as a start date. God wants you to start your week on Monday? Fine choose that option. But at least give us the option. My training plans and weekly totals just don't add up with a Monday start. Please Strava, give us an option to start Sunday!

  • It's bizarre that this hasn't been implemented after 2 years of users asking for it. It's a standard feature of every other fitness tracker I've used.

I just started using Strava and seeing the lack of communication from them on this simple request really makes me hesitant to upgrade my account to Premium.

  • Monday makes a lot more sense. do add it as an option, but don't make sunday the default.

I may go out for a few moderate rides in the evenings after work and one big ride at the weekend (not week beginning) the big ride may occur on either Saturday or Sunday depending what else is going on that weekend. If the strava week starts on sunday then some weeks will have two major rides and some will have none, skewing my weekly strava milage. I am sure I am not alone in this, as most people work Monday to Friday with Saturday and sunday off

  • yes I think the intent of this post from the beginning is to add options, not make a new default.

  • Yes. Please do offer the option of starting the week on Sunday. Weeks that start on Monday suck.

  • Elle,

Where did you learn to come up with such flaccid replies?  I think there's enough subscribers that want the OPTION of starting their week on Sunday vs. another day.  Please just make it happen.  I'm taken back that this is something that needs to be voted on.  I'm a premium member and what I pay makes up a portion of your paycheck.  This isn't a matter that needs to be turfed to Facebook or the social media team.  Just let the code geeks know what the membership wants and have them make it happen.  I hope you still appreciate member feedback.

  • Only in America would you people call Sunday the start of the week, you WEIRDOS.
Monday is the start of the week in the rest of the civilised world.

  • Thanks to everyone for your comments. Your feedback is noted!

We love hearing what our users want to see on Strava in the future, but please remember that none of the ideas and requests listed here are guaranteed to be implemented. This is only a fun feature on our Support site to gauge user input on various ideas.

That said, we are listening, and will certainly consider your requests and see what we can do for this feature going forward.

  • @Derek: Apparently the word "option" isn't part of standard grammar in your part of the civilized world. "I have what I want, F**K the rest of you" is a large part of what's wrong with the world. Get a grip.

  • @Elle: This "fun feature" has no utility if it isn't used to drive feature enhancements. The original request for this feature was 2.5 years ago. Your previous reply, essentially the same non-response as this one, was six months ago. At that time you were going to share insights with the product team. There are quite a few more comments now, nearly unanimous for the option to be implemented. This feature cannot be difficult to implement (and support of an engineering team has been offered by one person, if Strava is short of bandwidth). Please take some substantive action.

  • I use other apps that let you choose ANY DAY OF THE WEEK TO START.

  • Elle,

I think it would be a good idea if you took this a little more seriously. It is not a fun feature. It is a basic function of all your competitors apps and sites. There is an old saying: "either s**t or get off the pot" kid. Your attitude is holding strava back, there are many riders like me that are not upgrading because of unresponsive support.

  • To me Sunday is the start of the week. I would very much appreciate it if Strava makes this available as an option in the app and on the website. If not, this can become a deal breaker for me.

  • I want the option to start my calendar on Sunday (or any day of my choosing). I don't care about heat maps, KOMs, goals, the blog, or other nifty Strava features. I don't need badges, challenges, or related features. I will miss filtered lists, but I will sadly live without them.

One more month until my Premium membership expires. I will renew when Strava provides this option. I will vote with my feet.

In general I like Strava Support, but I despair of their responses on this issue. From the slim evidence provided, they have negligible influence with product marketing or engineering.

If Strava management is listening (for which there is no evidence), the history of this feature request has been a dismal experience. The feature is not difficult to implement, and it is offered by the major competing platforms. I appreciate that it does not compete with the hot social features, but the cost-benefit seems clear.

  • I emailed support and was told there are no plan to add tho feature. Blows my mind. Cancelled Premium!

    Their reply:

At this point having a feature like that is not planned. Sorry about that.

  • Finally something more illuminating than the standard non-response (read comments in this thread on 2014-01-14 and 2014-07-17, for example). Please identify the Strava person who sent that response, so we can express our appreciation.

My Premium membership expires in two weeks. I do not plan to renew until this feature is rolled out. I will miss filtered results, but not most of the other Premium features. Vote with your feet.

  • 84 comments and no reply tells me How Strava handles customer service and requests. It is now confirmed in my mind that they are a bunch of cycling elitists and that's not my bag. Goodbye Strava.

  • I've been a member since before there was a free membership. I stopped using strava this year solely due to the lack of this feature.

I now use Sporttracks, which has way better training tracking and reporting, and sometimes RidewithGPSs.com, which runs circles around strava for routing and ride planning.
The only thing I missed at first was KOM, but now I don't really miss it.
