Enter Elevation data for a Manual Activity entry

I run on the treadmill and I typically run on an incline. I like to record my ascent for week, it wold be nice to add the miles on the treadmill to the total.

  • +1  gps failure today and now reviewing my training log I wont see the correct elevation.  Elevation to me is missing on a lot of features, manual entries, goals are just 2

  • Strava, how about fixing this already? What's the point of all these people being inconvenienced over a long period of time?

  • I would love this feature as well. I sometimes "forget" my GPS at home but find out the exact distance and elevation through a hiking map creator. Adding this feature would be very, very cool!

  • Just went to update some manual entries. Cant add Vertical gain. This is basic data for a lot of us. Lets get this done already.

  • As others have stated, if you can manually ad distance and time, let us enter elevation as well.  This is a very important number for some of us.

  • BTW if this gets added, we really need to be able to edit existing events.  I have seven years worth of rides to fix...

  • Had GPS failure, entered manual activity and am astonished that there is no option to manually enter elevation. Sometimes this is more important detail than distance.

  • +1.  I train for mountain races and only do manual entries.

  • +1. I do a lot of hills and mountains, and when I go to the gym I routinely get a thousand feet or more gain on the treadmill, so my data is really incomplete without it. Pleeeeaaase add this feature.

  • What is the latest with this feature? Super important to be able to add elevation data from treadmill workouts or long runs where a gps may die or malfunction.

  • I thought this was possible a year or so ago. It seems like a no brainer and would be very usefu feature. I lost 4500ft on a ride yesterday. Map My Ride can do it. For free.

  • This would be useful. Every now and then most of my trip isn't recorded, because the Garmin Edge device does not have keylock (so it stops recording if my backpack hits something). I would like to be able to enten the Elevation manually so that the statistics become better.

  • Why not? Especially when you have accurate data from a buddy who actually REMEMBERED to turn on his Garmin!

  • How is this still not a thing? It seems as easy and obvious as allowing monthly and yearly goals.

  • MapMyRide allows for it?  Strava definitely should be able to add this, then!  This would help me track a very important stat for me!

  • this shouldn't too hard to implement - I've lost countless elevation data because of dead batteries, or GPS tracking failure...

  • Come on Strava - aren't you reading this? Please sort out elevation in manual entry.

  • Elevation gain is a key training metric for all. Please consider this as a priority enhancement in new versions

  • I'll throw my voice into the mix as another who would like to be able to put elevation gain in when I enter a manual activity.

  • Strong vote from me as well.  I accidently dropped my Garmin out of the box while packing for a MTB weekend. I was so disappointed not to have my device during the rides. We did 2 rides with a total of over 165 km and more than 3600 altitude meters.  After manual input of these epic rides I get a poor 0 for altitude meters. :-( . Another disappointment.  Please Strava. This feature would be really nice to add. Thanks!!!

  • It is not an uncommon thing for a GPS watch or Phone to lose connection or fail during a run. I just finished a 15 mile trail race with over 3,000 ft of elevation gain. I can add my time and distance, but not elevation. This is really too bad as elevation is the key thing about this race etc... This would be a great feature. Thanks.
