View of Performance Graph when Cropping (Speed/Heart Rate/Cadence)

There is a great built in tool for cropping your activities however it only lets you see the location of the gpx data points that are being cropped out. This is kind of useless when you are trying to crop the end of a ride/run where you stay in one place at the end of the run before turning your gps off. It would be great if the speed data was overlaid so you could crop the activity based on when you came to a stop and left your gps running while you were in the shower.

  • Agree.  Also would add a pop-up showing current selected: start, end and total distance for the selected region to be cropped.

  • Agree, with rowing I need both hands on the oar for some time before we start and we are in one location.

  • Agreed.  Usually if I want to crop a run it's because I forgot to stop my watch quick enough, so at the end of a run the pace goes up significantly where I stood around after the end of a run/race.  I can crop this but it's hard to do accurately purely with a map view that can't zoom in enough to identify where my correct ending point should be.  However, if I could view my pace below the map I could clearly identify & crop where I stopped running. This would be particularly helpful on races when I need to edit the end and don't want to crop it too early, which is easy to do with the current cropping tool.

  • I think the simplest implementation would be to allow you to change the cropping interface between distance and time views, just like you can in the Analysis view of an activity.

Combining cropping & analysis might be another way to make this the most useful/generic/easiest for all—though I do worry that would encourage cropping based on performance, rather than just finding the actual start/end of an activity.
