Add lock screen and pull down tray controls (pause/restart) for Android

I'd like to see the pause/record button on the lock screen, and I'd like to see it added to the current Strava tray in the pull down menu. Nothing fancy, simply the ability to stop and restart the run without entering the app. Attached are screenshots of Spotify's control, from which I take my inspiration.

It would be amazing to be able to pause and restart a run without having to unlock my phone. This would make it so much more convenient for those of us who encounter stoplights or get lost and may have to switch from maps to strava before stopping the timer.

  • +1 for lock screen widget

RunKeeper has a lock screen widget. With that, I can check my running time and pace and even end the activity without having to unlock my phone. This makes it quite a lot easier when I'm moving. Hope we can also have such a feature on Strava.

  • I agree. This would be extremely helpful. I often look at my phone to check the status of my run (distance, time, speed, etc.) and it would help if this information, as well as pause and stop controls, were available on the lock screen.

When running I use my garmin, but biking I have a phone mount and wanted to use Strava instead of a bike computer, but only if the screen stays on. But I don't want to change my settings before every ride. Having this info on the lock screen, or disabling the lock screen / screen saver as an option would be very helpful.

I've found a number of other threads on this. Is it in the queue at all?

  • How do we not have this yet over a year later? I have a 6 digit pin code to get into my phone. Try typing that in when you've just pushed your hardest to beat a PB! Please just make it accessible from the lock screen
