Interval training program

I'd like to be able to plan interval workouts (in my case, for running). Basic aspects of this:

  • Warmup (time or distance)
  • Work interval (time or distance)
  • Rest interval (time or distance)
  • Number of repeats (#)
  • Cooldown (time or distance)

Endomondo has an OK interface for this. My TomTom Cardio Runner watch has a simpler version of the same.

Interval workouts are all about running at a very specific speed. For example, you might do 6 x 800 meters at your goal 5k pace, with a quarter-mile jog in between reps, or longer 2 x 3 miles at your goal half-marathon pace. So ideally the app would tell you when an interval begins or ends and give you cues on your speed during (and maybe after) each interval.

  • Yes, i'am the next one requesting this important feature. Otherwise i will never go premium and better using runtastic (which has this awesome feature). But i would love to use strava because of better analytics, beacon functionality,....

  • Seriously, a support request this significant and common open since 3/15???  I just started using Strava and was considering their premium plan, but this sort of lack of support doesn't encourage me.  I need the exact same functionality (and every other serious runner on the planet...).

    Strava, you should make this happen. Runkeeper has had this functionality for many years, it works very well.

  • All my friends are on Strava, but the thing that keeps me using Endomondo is this feature! I have a bunch of different interval training programs that I made in Endomondo. It's super easy in that app, and it gives you audio cues as you run.
