  • Gotta have all the running-specific Stryd data fields:  Power, Form Power, Ground contact time, Vertical oscillation, & Leg Stiffness.

Gotta support collecting those datum via the App in addition to sync from Garmin or Suunto.

While building it into the iOS App, please make sure it works natively on the Apple Watch Series 2 with and without the phone nearby, using the Apple Watch HRM or 3rd-party HRM paired to Watch or iPhone, my choice.

On longer runs I probably want my phone for safety reasons but for every day shorter runs the Watch should suffice without loss of functionality; however, it needs to be easy to switch between the two modes of operation.

  • No running metrics, no premium fee. Time to vote with your $$

  • Also a Stryd user, I would also +1

Strongly advocate that anybody else that has posted ensure they uptick on the parent message!

Can Strava actually provide reasoning to why it is not already included?

    Is it an extraction/access to the data feed from Stryd (or even Garmin)? or;

Is it not a priority on the development pipeline (low volume of users)?

Thanks in advance for the update Strava

  • They are more concerned with social media than real training functionality.

  • Just learned about Stryd. I'm definitely interested. Won't buy the device until it's supported by Strava.

  • +1 to support power for running.  I just bought my Stryd and I'm going to be really sad if I have to find another platform besides Strava for analytics.

  • +1 it's become a gaping hole in the Strava system. It's not like it isn't in the FIT files or anything.

  • I'd also like to add my call to voice the need for power meters in running. I really don't want to have to switch away from Strava, but I also just bought a Stryd

  • I just purchased a Stryd, and I am sad to see that power isn't supported in Strava.  I am finding myself using Movescount and Stryd's web page more for analytics now.

  • 2017 is almost over and the official statement was that you would look at adding power to run activities. Are there any updates? Training Peaks does a better analysis of a run activities data and they already have the ability to use power data from run activities. The premium Strava membership is great but it's not valuable unless it can use all of the data I have including Stryd power data from my run workouts. I have to make a decision to switch to Training Peaks as my go to training app if Strava won't support Stryd and power data for running. Please let me know.

  • Not sure if it is mentioned before, but you can add Stravistix as an extension for e.g. Chrome and then you get to see Power for running, if you used a powermeter of course... (https://thomaschampagne.github.io/stravistix/)

It analyses your data locally (no privacy issues there), but also adds a nice little menu in your Strava dashboard and extended statistics per run.

  • Nope the Stravistix power data has been broken for weeks. Issue at Strava end.

Really there is no reason why any such field should be missing from Strava. I'd add SMO2 to this as well, especially with the Humon sensor coming out any time now.

  • Strange, I just checked and it still works. I used to have an issue that it didn't work on my laptop, but did work on my other machine at home. But that is solved and works on both machines.

  • Well 2017 is almost done and not a peep from Strava. Garmin has added running power too. Isn't it time Strava stepped up? I cancelled my premium membership back in the spring and I haven't missed it at all. But yes Strava, I would pay for a power-duration curve and a performance management/TRIMP chart calculated from running power -- if you added them.

  • @Joey Luther - Apparently, they just don't care. Here's what they said back in May - https://twitter.com/StravaSupport/status/865311356815364096

  • They are obviously more interested in being a social media platform than a training and fitness one. Speak/vote with your $$ and skip the Premium membership!

  • Stravastix is no good as it only shows power and not the other data. Come on Strava. It looks like you’ve been sitting on this for years. Is it true that you’re more interested in the social media aspect than the data analysis side? If so, I don’t need to pay premium rates for social media.
