Allow Club Leaderboards to be customizable

Allow Club Leaderboards to be customizable, for example my club really wants to see (1) Total Cycling Distance, (2) Total Running Distance, and (3) Total Elevation Gain...

... this is to satisfy my cyclists, runners, and hikers.  Thanks!

  • I'm managing a club for my company containing a lot of different athletes but about 90-95% of them fit into the "Cyclist only" or "Runner only" section.

For each of those groups different preferences apply to what they want to see on 'their' leaderboard - and of course the runners are frustated because a 10mi run is nothing compared to a 20mi ride even though it's much

So what I would like to see is the possibility to create two (2) or three(3) different leaderboards - each one customizable in terms of "Sorting by <metric1|2|3>" and "Activity type" (to differentiate between runners and cyclists or even nordic skiers in wintertime)

  • from a different thread : https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/209516507-Club-leaders-and-leaderboards

Try chasetheladder.com - might give you what you are looking for.

Rather than a weekly leaderboard it is a rolling 4 week leaderboard - so there is never a 'winner', it just keeps rolling over. It does mean you aren't at risk of missing that weekly roll over.

It wouldn't be too difficult to extend this to a 'YTD' leaderboard or a rolling 52 week leaderboard. But for now we've found that 4 weeks is about the right duration.   'YTD' also has an issue that if you didn't sign up by 1st Jan you are always playing catchup, which can be demotivating.

It uses various metrics for clubs you are a member of and for your group of friends (i.e. your personal club). Currently leaderboards are created for swim/ride/run activities. And the leaderboards can be sorted by number of activities, total distance, distance per activity, pace/speed, PRs, total climb, average gradient, moving time, elapsed time, time efficiency etc.

To get most from it you need friends / other club members to sign up. And then you link to each other via the site. Until recently that was done automatically via Strava 'friends' but currently the friends API is out of action. Fingers crossed Strava will reintroduce it soon.

  • I've also noticed that the leader boards don't count "other" activities, which has been confusing to many folks i have just introduced to Strava. I would also be a fan of customizing the week start day.

  • Strava is Swedish for “strive,” which epitomises our attitude and ambition: We're a passionate and committed team, unified by our mission to build the most engaged community of athletes in the world. Every day, we're searching for new ways to inspire athletes and make the sports they love even morefun.

    Come on Strava -

please add this feature to engage / inspire  more Athletes - Is is part of your ethos - athletes are jumping on 3rd parties 'segment challenge / chase the ladder'    in frustration  ........  Many thanks

  • Great ideas, I would love a monthly review of club progress. Not sure I can see how I can find it.
