Notifications on iOS not working anymore

Since the last update of the iOS Strava app (4.14.0 / april 12th) the notifications drawer doesn't indicate there are new notifications (kudos, replies, etc) most of the time. Opening the drawer does show the notifications though, but they aren't cleared (ie they still show as new notifications on the website). I do get push notifications for new kudos and replies.

We aren't aware of any known issues related to notifications or the notification icon for iOS at this time.

Sometimes, notifications can get sticky and won't clear. If this is the case, log into your profile on the Strava.com website and clear notifications there. That usually resolves any issues.

If you have additional questions about your Strava notifications please reach out to us directly.

  • Hi Jorick,

I see that you have a support ticket with us which has already received a response.

Please take a moment to log out and log back in and let me know if that helps.

In addition, if you have not done so already, please take a moment to update the app.

  • Hi Elle,

Yes, sorry for that; it wasn't clear to me what the best place was to file the bug report. Please see my response on the support ticket for more information.

    Cheers,

    Jorick

  • Hi Elle

My notifications have stopped working too in the last few weeks on my iPhone. Still works perfect on the iPad, and website and most things work their way through on email, but everything has stopped on the device I use most which is my iPhone. I have deleted and re-installed the app many times, tried logging out and back in again, but while some of these actions have fixed the problem, it will literally be just for 1 notification and then it all stops working again straight away. I have the latest version of IOS and also the latest version of Strava (both are fully up to date)... Have you got any ideas on how to fix it? Up until now I have had no issues with the app, and have been on it for a pretty long time.

  • Two months and a few updates in and still not solved... Is there a way to adjust the priority for this bug on your backlog?

  • I'm also affected by this. Mostly use on my iPhone. Rarely log into the website, which seems to be the only way to clear the notifications.

  • Has this issue been fixed yet? I'm having this issue since the last several iOS updates. I've submitted a ticket as well.

  • I'm using iOS 10.1.1 and today had to reinstall the app to clear lot of unwanted cache (almost 2 gigs). Now I'm encountering the issue where I still do get notifications, however the notifications history (upper right icon) is blank.

This looks related to issues reported here. Thoughts?

  • Elle's solution (log in and out) worked for me. I had the same issue when I got notification but the list was blank in mobile app.

  • Same problem for me. Logged in and out, turned phone on and off, but notifications don’t clear after I have viewed them. The GPS tracking is also not working consistently. The GPS seemingly has no trouble locating where I am, but the auto pause is glitchy - it will pause the run sometimes when I am actively running at a steady pace and will sometimes randomly stop tracking distance covered after having auto-paused. This is happening even though when I stop and look at my phone, the GPs dot on Strava will be showing my correct location - it’s just not tracking the accumulating mileage.

  • I’m not receiving any notifications either. All are switched on in Strava settings and iPhone but the badge app icon notification is still not working. What’s the solution Strava?
