Photos disappear from the Profile page

I take a lot of photos each event and all of a sudden on my profile page there are only 56 photos going back 2 weeks. Yet other people have >180 photos still on their profile page?  Taking photos and looking back is fun for me, so can  you please explain.

Thanks

please can strava sort this out already this problem seems to date back for a while.

  • Elle, Erik.

Hard to find any request in the forums, community discussions  for the, now, highly ridiculed and really weird #givekudos project which is being peddled all over. Very easy to find popular requests for useful features, going for 3 years already ? Direct Messaging anyone ?  Or this pathetic picture saga which goes one forever  ? It's such a  reckless distraction and shows a comic total disconnected from what your customers are asking you, for more than a year now. That will also be your paying customers, I hasten to add, the one paying the salaries of your management.

Pass this on to the what passes these days as Strava "management"

    Thanks

  • Strava, it’s ridiculous that I can only see 20 pictures on my profile page. Please fix this. The photos I added years ago will never be seen again when they are 100s of activities down my thread. How else can I see them anyway without digging through old activities?

    Sort it please.

  • My pictures have reappeared on my profile page.  I hope the same is happening for others.

  • Mike, you got all of them back or only a part ?

  • I’ve submitted a request about this in 2017 already. And have not seen any response yet. Neither are the pictures to be found on my profile page as seems to be the case for Mike. Strava, how hard can this be?!

  • I only had about 27 activity pictures and all but two of them had disappeared from the profile page.  All of them have now reappeared on my profile page.

  • Up until today, I have not uploaded any new photos because the oldest ones in the feed (of only 41 photos) would disappear. Today I uploaded a new photo and the oldest one in the field is still there so - some improvement.

  • Not here, 74. One goes IN, one goes OUT.  Strava photo feed is like a whack-a-mole game

  • Hello, just to jump in on the discussion. Premium member here who used to enjoy scrolling through my history and remember the great rides I had years ago. Not anymore. This is immensely frustrating. Strava, please address this issue. As a side note, the problem seems to be worse since TrainerRoad began adding pictures to my account. This certainly feels like a bug on Strava's part.

  • Strava, you have really f*cked up.  Posting photos is an important part of Strava.  It's not exaggeration to say that I cherish my photo gallery.  It gives me a chance to relive many wonderful rides.  And it gives my new Strava friends an opportunity to get a sense of who I am - and literally where I've been.  We don't give a damn about new ways to give kudos.  Lots and lots of us really value our photos - now capped at an absurd and arbitrary 100.  Your message to us is:  "Those lost photos, they don't matter.  Valued premium member, we've downgraded your experience. Suck it up."  Strava, maybe YOU don't matter.  Why should I re-up my premium membership next month?  BRING BACK THE PHOTOS, and we'll talk.

  • Elle, team Strava,

Reid Orvedahl gives a great recap of what is the key problem. We haven’t heard back from you for a long time. Please get back to us and - more importantly - solve this problem. It’s not even a technical one (because anything is possible, it’s 2018... AND we used to have unlimited photos!), it’s a question of how much you value your longtime loyal customers and ambassadors.

  • Is it really too hard to just show all of our photos? Incomprehensive... or just laziness

  • How annoying is this - just noticed it today.  There have been a few changes lately that are heading in the wrong direction.  I am not renewing my premium subscription this year Strava

  • I'd like to add my voice to everyone else here in requesting that Strava fix this problem. Having photos to go along with my rides is a feature I love about Strava. But I am disappointed to notice my older photos are getting dropped off my Photos collection in my profile. Strava, please fix this!

  • Think this issue has been addressed now. Last week only 60 of my photos were displaying, now it’s up to 92! Received an email in May to say Strava photos were changing but the email had no content so can’t confirm. Anyone else had an increase?

  • Gwyn Williams, yep, I got some photos back, too! I think they're all there now. Went from 43 up to 47

  • Yes, Gwyn! Several of my photos are now shown. However, it is still not all of them. I really like a specific photo of mine, one of the first photos of my Strava life, and it is not shown. I would like them all. I'm sure it's not a big thing for the IT guys to do. Just show them all!

  • My profile page still only shows 82 of the hundreds it used to show. I think it’s not a question of how many, but like on any other ‘social’ media the number of photos is limitless (Twitter etc) and if a company would delete them from an oversight, you’d never hear the end of it. What bothers me is that this is not a technical issue and that Strava chooses to ignore such a broadly carried critisism and comes up with all sorts of social (nothing sportlike) extra’s at the same time. Fix this first... apparently sporters love visualising their activities on their profile page, and these same pics are a huge inspiration to other athletes. I know they are to me!

  • I'm currently at 36/100. It was 15/100. Slight improvement, but far cry from the 100/100 pic count! Support told me they're having some sort of "bug" and have yet to fully resolve it.

  • Not sure on how many photo's I've uploaded. Not a heap. Could have been around that 100.
    Never deleted any.

Now I have 6 on my profile. Why?

(I hate non chronological as well)

What is it about these companies that they seem to try to see how much they can piss off their customers before they leave?

  • What the hell Strava!? We are still limited to 100 photos? I will NOT be renewing my subscription to Premium.

  • On a desktop web browser... Profile shows 8 photos :(.  Mobile app shows more (a few dozen) going farther back.  Having (all!) photos going way back seems like a basic function of Strava.  Hard to imagine what revenue-generating reason there could be for this limitation as it sounds like basic and premium are the same. Bizarre.  Anyone from Strava able to explain?

  • Hey Scott,

When you're on the website, you should be able to scroll down to your photos. There will be a box with a number+. Clicking that should bring up your additional photos.

If you're not seeing this, please write to our team.

    Cheers.

  • @jess

I see the box with a number+ but this shows me a total of 100 photos and not all of my photos which only takes me to Feb 2018. What is the easiest way to find photos from before then?

  • Dear Strava,

At the start of 2018 I've been requesting that my photo carousel be allowed the 100 photo count as promised by Strava. Its now end of 2018 and my photo carousel is bouncing between 16-40 photos, no where near 100! This is quite frankly  very embarrassing and ridiculous, that you can let this go on for an entire year, and happily take money from your customers!!! You can't say that I've not been patient about this on-going issue.

  • I've been using Strava a since approx 2014. And I only have 11 pictures on my profile page and they never change. It's allways the same pictures showing on my profile page and never new pictures!

  • I noticed this thing today and read above messages to get a good understanding of the situation now.. This is very lame excuse given by strava team; i did not know strava is so small that it would need to restrict pictures from the page.

Archiving was not an option ? smart resolution is also a thing.

I am cancelling my Strava premium today itself.
