Fitness and Freshness support for swim data

How can we be expected to pay for Premium but you simply refuse to import data from a HRM during a swim from the Garmin App. Fix this- swimming is a legitimate sport too!

  • I agree. Was gonna purchase a HRM for swimming but might not bother now. What is the point? Strava do reasonable work for cycling and running but swimming is just a complete afterthought. You cant even embed a swim on a blog, it comes up as "you did xx on a stationary trainer".

  • yes, I bought a garmin HRM tri-swim to be able to log my heartrate during swimming ( and strava keep asking, log your heartrate?) and more data during running, like cadans etc ... but none of this appears on strava, also would like to be able to log my results from spinning class ... I get data from the fitness app, why can't we load it to strava ( even if it was manual adding) ... also, if data was not recorded correct ( eg during swimming, missed some laps) it would be nice if you can manually correct it ...

  • The activity page even suggests wearing a HRM to improve training. Come on Strava, sort it out

  • Come on Strava, this one-sided argument has been going on since at least 2015!

  • Hey gang.  FYI, swim heart rate IS exported correctly by Polar Flow to Strava.  After making the initial connection, all your activities will transfer. For swims, the info includes distance, time, pace, and heart rate for all laps.  Strava even computes a suffer score  This feature may be due to some new updates.  Not sure. But it seems quite unique at the moment.  Using the V800 watch and H7 chest strap, this is what you see on Strava now:

  • Apparently this isn’t a Strava issue, it’s Garmin’s fault. They merge the HR and activity data and Strava can’t split it. Other HR monitors and computers don’t do this, hence the Polar example above. So I know what I’m upgrading to the next time I get a watch and HR monitor and it won’t be Garmin, unless they sort this issue out.

  • Really frustrating that swim hrm data from Garmin cannot be imported. Strava even recommends an HRM so where is the support?

  • Is there any foreseeable resolution with Garmin?  I want to up my swim volume, and swimming takes its toll just like the other two disciplines.  I would love to stick with my Garmin products.  I don't think Polar supports ANT+.

  • Please sort the HR rate be monitor as before and power sync ,as  STRAVA is not great as a complete asa training measure!  Without HR and Power pretty useless, for next subscription i think i will decline and not sign up again due to this!
