  • It's strange, I do not have this option. Same PC or Android (v90)

  • Give the option to delete heart rate data. In most cases, the pulse is recorded correctly and no problems, but in some workouts it is incorrect and therefore I want to delete it. Thanks.

  • Gg and Viktor, We'll do our best to see if this feature if possible for development. It's not only possible, but we agree that it would add value to our existing privacy features. It will just depend on whether the development work is prioritized.

  • In the meantime, you can always use FIT File Tools to remove heart rate, power, etc., before uploading to Strava.

  • Good news guys.
I am a beta tester and in the last beta update there is the possibility to hide the heart rate data.
For power data I don't know because my powermeter is broken.
    Ciao

  • You all do realize you can make activities private right?

Besides, what is someone else going to do with your data?  Will it help them tactically mid race to know what your W/kg over a 5 minute interval is? Will them knowing your at 160 bpm at a specific pace on a climb help them drop you anymore than they already would anyway?

To Paul:  I would assume the only people here on drugs are those that don't want others to see their performance data.

  • Gg, Sorry but I simply don't have a firm answer for you at this time. My response is accurate. A feature to hide heart rate and power is under discussion. The Strava team agrees that the community wants this feature and that there is a demand for such a feature. Work is not currently scheduled nor does this development have a timeline right now. We will do our best this year to see if this feature is possible.

  • @Strava, When are you planning on implementing this feature? It's been about 4 years since the original feature request.

It shouldn't be too complicated to implement the following two stories:

As a premium user I would like to delete my power data from a given cycling activity!

As a premium user I would like to delete my hr data from a given activity!

    ----

    On the page https://www.strava.com/activities/$id

Under the actions menu "Delete Power Data" & "Delete HR Data"

Please let us know if you have the intention of addressing this issue over the upcoming quarter.

    Best,

  • I've seen lots of requests to hide different features of Strava but I can't recall when they have done it.  My point was if you didn't have a power meter then what does it matter if anyone can see your data since it would just be the Strava algorithmic power which is not anywhere near reality.  Since you do have a power meter I can understand some people's urge to hide it but really what is the point?  If you are in a race and you get dropped are you going to go hide so no one knows you have been dropped?  I find it a handy feature to be able to say ok, here is the KOM and look he's making 1200 watts for 2 minutes, hmm, must be Strava doping, flag him.  Or if I'm hunting down a Strava segment I can look and see how much power would be required to get in the top ten and use that as a workout goal.  There are lots of good uses to see people's power data, I'd really hate to see people hiding that.  It is bad enough when people post rides without HR data, I want to see something to back up their effort.

  • Real power from a power meter or the Strava algorithm that gives you +30-40% ;-)
