Ability to generate Training Reports from your Strava data

Having just worked my way through my 2013 training data to find out my weekly, monthly and total training amounts, it occurred to me that it would be handy to be able to generate these as reports automagically within Strava.

  • Weekly, monthly, annual and all time reports for any week/month/year.
  • Report describes total mileage, training time, number of activites, HR maximum/average etc. - all the usual information.
  • Reports can be activity type specific (one report for runs, one for rides) or aggregated.
  • Users configure which report types they want generated automagically (and optionally emailed to them) based on period and activity type.
  • Custom reports (specific date ranges, previous weeks/months/years etc,.) can be created ad-hoc if I wanted.

After all, we're using a site like Strava because we crave data and comparative competition - more data is exactly what we always want...

    Hi Folks,

Thanks for adding your comments. I understand the need for having all your data easily accessible and downloadable. I'll pass your thoughts along.

One thing to remember: just because something's popular doesn't mean it'll be implemented. Our forums are just one component of our decision-making process. While a ton of ideas are genuinely valuable, we need to be selective and balance our priorities.

    Thanks for understanding!

  • Yes - would love some similar reports to Garmin Connect. All the data is here, just need different ways to show it. Otherwise, need a raw dump to Excel

  • I was really surprised when I upgraded to Premium that, from what I can find, there is no actual report available to monitor progress? This was really disappointing, Any updates on when this will be offered?

  • Comma delimted (CSV) would be great! Another reason to renew Premium membership! The only reason I'm on this page is because I was trying to find out how to download the data! It's an intuitive request. Thanks!

  • Has anyone found a product that would do this????  I'm on premium this year & this is kinda deal breaker for me.  If you try and printout your activities, each set of 10 activities on each page turns out to be about 5 pages of printout that definitely is not parsed correctly.  It is a mess.  I need this feature or I'll go back to my excel spreadsheet or ??????

    Please post!

  • Exporting to Excel should be a one button push. Crazy to be unable to do this...............

  • Hello, and happy new year - There is a related forum for feedback around yearly metrics and reporting. Please check it out and add your comments!

The leading feedback trends so far are to separate yearly metrics in the Training Calendar by activity type (running and cycling), and to add yearly elevation totals

  • Agree with the comments already posted. This should be a pretty straightforward request and not clear why it's not already available. The bulk export to separate GPX files is pretty useless.

  • A simple CSV file dump to Excel would be great!

  • Excel is the analytical tool of choice.   You need a simple export with route, date, distance, and time.

  • I'd like to export my activities to csv or excel too!

  • simple csv export would be great. all I want is date, distance, time and I can calculate the rest myself. I'm wanting to trend my average run speed per week over the last few years, really interested to see how this changes.

  • Include me in on the request for CSV.  Just give us all the data and we can sort as needed.  I really like Strava.  I've gotten several friends to sign on and they are avid users now and this would put you way over the edge with your competition

  • I vote for an 'Export to MS Excel' function. It would seem an easy addition to the program. If it were only available to Premium users then I would consider upgrading.

  • Agree with above - need to have an export all function to Excel. Whether its csv comma delimited or not, I don't really care. Just want to be able to manipulate the data a bit myself

  • Export to Excel = Excel-lent idea (Sorry. No. I never wanted to be a standup comic!) BTW: Love the latest update, no more Wahoo running concurrently.

  • So has there been any movement on the export to excel idea or has it fallen on deaf ears? Seeing as how it has been asked about in 2014 it doesn't appear now makes me wonder. Let us export the data to excel so we can improve out KOM's and daily rides!! I look forward to a prompt reply. I am a Premium member but may not be if this isn't addressed.

  • I'll add my voice to this. I ride three bikes (at least) for three different purposes. Right now, I only see PRs, etc. in the aggregate. It would be useful--no, it's really necessary--to be able to run my own reports from .CSV data. Then, I could filter for a specific bicycle over a specific date range. If Strava can provide GPX/TCX data, it can certainly provide this. (Also a Premium member and I think that would be an appropriate advantage for Premium members--download of data.)

  • Allowing download of stats to a .csv file would be the One easy thing that would please most users who complain about lack of reporting. Why delay?

    Are you listening, Strava?

  • Well I'm new to strava and am rather surprised that I can't export to csv. I log all my training manually in excel & it would be si much easier to export directly

  • Please Strava let us know.

Is it that you dont want to do this? Is it too difficult for you? Havent got round to it? Dont listen? Dont care?

Why drive us to other sites like garmin or veloviewer when you could make it a "pro" option and earn money.

  • csv export needed... especially for "description" field where I track injuries and recovery.

    Vital feature here.

Yes Garmin connect does export... but without "description" field... which is the reason why I switched to Strava 2 years ago. I'm kinda fed up waiting.

It would be reason enough to switch to premium if available with premium

  • I have another club that tracks commute miles for the month and then there is an awards ceremony every year. It would be so awesome if I could export the data and sort it. Can't believe as a paying user this is not a built-in feature. What good is data if you can't use it?

  • Preventing users to export opens up the path to competition allowing to do so.  Haven't you figured that the use of own data by customers is already an ethical matter that sooner or later will backfire on Strava?

  • I recommend signing up with www.veloviewer.com which can take all your strava data and graphically display all historic data in a user friendly way. They also respond quickly to all questions once you are registered as a pro-user.
