  • Thanks everyone for chiming in regarding support for Stryd power data. We'll do our best to fit this into our 2017 planning. I'll post any updates as they become available.

  • Elle Anderson - It would be great if Strava were able to generate a "Best Efforts Power Curve" for running, in the same way it currently does for cycling. (https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/216918507-Using-your-Best-Efforts-Power-Curve-Premium-)

  • Well, I just can't find if the power data for running is now implemented?

  • Would love to be able to see all the Stryd metrics on the STRAVA page. I just got my Stryd working and am using garmin connect or the Stryd power center to see them.

  • I was going to buy this thing, but will hold off until Strava supports it.

  • Please add power to runs. Should be easy to add a data field.

  • I know cycling put Strava on the map, and for that I am thankful, even though I'm not a cyclist (except for my work commute). But it would be a shame for Strava to ignore the strength it has developed in its running community. I don't imagine enabling power the metric for Stryd and/or other power meters is a simple as toggling the functionality over from cycling. Simply recording the metric would be - as was done with cadence - but involving it in Strava's display and zones ala heart rate or cycling watts would be more involved.

Regardless, it's 2017, and I hope Strava allocates the necessary resources to integrate running power into its environment. I love Strava and would hate to have to use multiple apps / migrate.

  • HI Strava Team

The Stryd Powermeter for runners is the next big thing. Thousands already use it and Strava still does not support it. whereas garmin connect does :( Please add this feature and make sure that innovations remain a cornerstone of Strava's corporate culture. Thank you!

  • And another voice.  This would be a reason for me to maintain my premium level once it expires.  Please get this added.

Training Peaks and a few other folks support it now.  You'll end up losing us there if you can't get this in.  Really hoping you can.

    thanks !

  • I'm on the power bandwagon now.  Please add this to Strava.  It could even be part of the app since Stryd records running activities with it's app.

  • Unless Strava starts to show some support for running power I seriously doubt I will renew my premium membership.  This has been out long enough and yet there is no response from Strava on this at all.

Strava are you listening.  Your customers are trying to tell you something.

  • Perhaps we need to "delay" renewing our Premium memberships until our request is heard? Vote with your $$'s

  • And nothing yet. Clearly Strava doesn't care about runners or triathletes...

  • Why is this taking so long, fix it or I will leave STRAVA. You are neglecting your running community 😕

  • Hey all, SportTracks has Running Power implemented and even have EI(Efficiency Index) metric. They are much more agile than Strava is at getting things done.

  • I've cancelled my Premium membership; not specifically because of no support for running power, but really because there's been nothing new in two years.

Strava could do so much more around power and the analysis of it. But start by including running power for everyone!

  • The crazy thing is - the data is even there.  With VeloViewer (great add-on btw - highly recommend it) - which pulls in my strava data - it shows power...  I'm switching from my premium strava membership back to free in 4 weeks (when it's due) and will try something else.

If more of us premium members act this way - hopefully Strava will eventually get the message.

  • +1 for running power metrics and a separate best efforts power curve for running. Any timelines on this?

  • Strava seems to be much more worried about making deals with Private Equity companies than on improving their product. Not many updates in the last 2 years and bugs like these going unfixed for almost a year. I'm back to Training Peaks where they are constantly adding new features. Their app and site may not look as good as Strava but it surely works well and is very reliable.
I also cancelled my Premium Strava account.

  • Just downgraded to get rid of premium since Strava does not support running power metrics.  After months of waiting for Strava to do something, the downgrade was very liberating.

  • Just downgraded too.  Sorry Strava, but until you provide this, I'm not paying for the service.

For others considering the same - when you downgrade - you are given a comment box to explain why.  Please tell them why.  Maybe this will help them prioritize the development effort...  maybe.

  • I would also like to see power for running support

  • Gotta have all the running-specific Stryd data fields:  Power, Form Power, Ground contact time, Vertical oscillation, & Leg Stiffness.

Gotta support collecting those datum via the App in addition to sync from Garmin or Suunto.

While building it into the iOS App, please make sure it works natively on the Apple Watch Series 2 with and without the phone nearby, using the Apple Watch HRM or 3rd-party HRM paired to Watch or iPhone, my choice.

On longer runs I probably want my phone for safety reasons but for every day shorter runs the Watch should suffice without loss of functionality; however, it needs to be easy to switch between the two modes of operation.

  • No running metrics, no premium fee. Time to vote with your $$

  • Also a Stryd user, I would also +1

Strongly advocate that anybody else that has posted ensure they uptick on the parent message!

Can Strava actually provide reasoning to why it is not already included?

    Is it an extraction/access to the data feed from Stryd (or even Garmin)? or;

Is it not a priority on the development pipeline (low volume of users)?

Thanks in advance for the update Strava
