Export GPX from App

What's missing in the Strava mobile phone app is a feature to locally export the gps data (gpx or other appropriate format like tcx...) so it can be opened in another app like a map. This is a feature I know e.g. from Wahoo Fitness. There you have the option to "Open in..." (on iPhone), next step is to choose file format, finally you get to choose the app which you want the file to be opened with.

This feature woudl be really handy to check a track you or an athlete you're following on a local map app while not able to use a full blown computer.

Kind regards

  • Open STRAVA in your Smartphone Browser and export the GPX file!

That is a simple solution and it works perfect!!

  • On Android Chrome switching to "Desktop site" works. If that doesn't work for iPad Safari you could try installing Chrome and trying that.

  • There's currently no way to download the GPX on mobile web either. I would expect that adding the download link to Strava's mobile web may be a quick win ... or a button to view the full Strava website on mobile.

Of course, app support would be the ideal solution.

My use case: export GPX to Komoot then to Wahoo for turn-by-turn nav

  • Hey everyone

it works now in safari you can request the desktop site on strava, by clicking the little  « Aa » on the top left then you can download your gpx, it goes directly in « files » and import it to komoot

  • Strava to GPX / StratraX

This app works, but it has som problem to automatic fit all functions in the phones window.
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spark71.stravatogpx&hl=en_US

It opens Strava in web/PC window, zoom out and you find all normal web-functions.

  • And after 5 years from first post we still missing that great feature to export your activity from phone. I need that for orientation to export gpx and import in my app for navigation on go. Also the app Strava to GPX is awful, it just open the browser and nothing more. For me with big display it is no work at all.

  • The workaround opening the desktop website version worked out for me (Chrome Android). Actually I had to open strava in incognito tab (long press) or else would always open the App.
Then I open with Wahoo straight from the downloaded file

  • I know the workaround, but it's real PITA to follow it, as the web page constantly nags to go to app. And allowing easy export to other device (Wahoo, Suunto) could be just a click away in a mobile app.

  • Please Strava. I won’t this also on iPhone. GPX export with the Strava app... Why not?
