Select which data elements to hear in audio cues

I would like the ability to select which audio cues get announced to me (total time, pace, distance, current time of day, etc), and in what order.  I'd also like the audio cues to be read a little faster (perhaps allow the user to set the speed of announcement).

  • The Wahoo App has great audio announcements that are fully customizable for data given and triggers.  This would be a great addition to the Strava app.

  • I'm considering switching from Nike+ and so far, just using to track dog walks. But it's missing two features: Better range of audio cues and auto-weather record. I track runs by time, not mileage. And, to my surprise, the weather data has been pretty useful when I look at trends, patterns, etc. Both would convince to switch to Strava for primary workouts.

  • when running an audio cue every .5 or 1 km is not enough.

we need to be able to change/add to minutes with km/h, min/km, distance, avg and current pace, heart rate....

please please please add this feature on your next build.

    thanks in advance.

  • I totally agree - more options for audio cues would be great. Strava lacks in this area compared to competitor apps

  • I've been using Run Keeper for years and was considering switching to Strava, as the community/competition side of it seems much better.

Used it for the first time yesterday and cannot believe that average pace is not one of the audio cues. This is THE number 1 bit of data I'm interested in when I'm running. I can't see how it's possible to aim for any sort of finish time if you can't hear your overall average pace.

It's displayed on the phone's screen so it must be an easy feature to implement as an audio cue.

I'm guessing since this issue was raised so long ago that Strava don't plan on addressing it - but it's the one thing that's stopping me from switching. If you're in the same situation as me then upvote this issue so it might get looked at.

  • ^this^
Average pace is the main thing I miss from other apps. I can't believe it's not included as an audio cue on Strava

  • Hi - really surprised in negative way, that this valid and heavily missed feature, of setting up the values for audio output, has been reported already 2018 by users. Meanwhile we have 2020 and despite lot of updates, we still miss more possibilities for personalising display, audio...during recording. Very poor. Am using SportsTracker in parallel and their it works since long. By the way-SportsTracker measures distance on iwatch much more accurate than Strava.

  • Looking to switch to strava from mapmyride, but need my elevation gain and calorie burn reported in audio clues, plus current time of day. I live in the mountains so elevation gain is very important to us! Hopefully all of these things are being considered as options for audio cues. Strava seems to have more focus on competing with others than competing with yourself.

  • Ive used strava for a while now and ive come to the conclusion that they don't really care what we want.

i mean 5 years at least we have been asking for better audio cues. and nothing.

yet they keep bringing out new features that personally i have no use for.

    Im considering switching to Endomondo.
