Add Photos from the Strava Website

Some of us have a windows phone, and while my first preference would be for an officially supported windows phone app with the full feature set, I doubt that is coming any time soon.  As such, it would be nice if we could add pictures from our own files from the web site rather than having to deal with Instagram.  I don't always upload Instagram photos in the time window allotted.  Truth be told, the only reason I have an Instagram account is so I can have my ride pictures show up in strava.  I would probably just close my Instagram account if you added manual file upload for ride pictures to the web site.

  • Not everyone uses Android phone or iPhone. I can't believe this is still an issue. If you still refuse to make Windows app, at least allow us to upload photos from the website.

  • Without reading every response in this thread, it seems completely ridiculous that such a simple feature isn't available. Does Strava get money or some other benefit from Instagram for not enabling simple web browser upload and forcing people to use Instagram if they want to upload photos to an activity?

You could even have adverts for all I care if I can upload a few photos.

Obviously you will need to invest in quite a lot of storage or just set a limit per user.

  • The storage space is already there. It's possible to upload photo's with the phone app.
They only need to make a file dialog on the site that stores the photo's in the same space the app does.

People have already offered to make this for free.
Strava must have some kind of hidden agenda that prevents them from adding this basic feature.

  • Please add the feature to allow to upload pictures from a computer and not just a phone.

  • I download photos from my phone to computer both to clear the phone's memory and so that I can edit photos on a full size screen (v. pinch and zoom on a tiny screen with my reading glasses).  I also purchase digital downloads of official race photography.  Being able to upload a photo via web interface just seems like internet standard, I was surprised not to find it here.  Make it a feature only for paid members if you must; I would certainly become a paid member for it.

  • +1 for ability to upload pictures through the website, hard to believe it's not already there

  • Strava's logic in not adding this basic feature is astounding considering how elaborate the geo-tracking and stats gathering there is in doing things like leaderboards for segments in augmented reality games.

  • +1 for the feature to upload from a laptop. I've just taken to cycling with a 4/3rds camera, much better images than any smartphone out there, and now have to transfer the images to my phone (luckily I can do this via wifi on both devices) then to strava from the phone. How crap is that! I want to take my sd card out of the camera and upload it directly to strava, how hard can that be to sort out Strava?

    Come on!

  • Still hoping for this to come out.  I'd much rather have this than "certain athletes can make non-ride posts".

  • As a 5+ year premium member. Please add the function to add pics from the Strava Website.  You do know that some of us use a GPS to download our data.

Thank you a soon be "non - paying member"

  • I capture my Pictures with a camera, not with the Smartphone because i want to have Pictures in perfect Quality. Now i have to syncronize the Pictures to the Smartphone to add them to strava. This could not be the future! Please add a Feature to the Website to upload Pictures! Thank you

  • + 1 for the possibility to add nice pictures from the website (from a real camera with no internet connexion)

  • "However, being a small company, we have other projects we've prioritized at this time and we simply can't fulfill all the feature requests in our community”

You’re one of the most popular workout/running/biking apps in the app store. This is a horrible excuse. Frankly, the customer service for Strava needs to improve immensely, because it is by far the worst customer service of any iPhone app I’ve ever used.

  • I understand that you have lots of other developments but why not tell the users what they are. It may be that adding photos via the website might be favoured above other developments. Tell us what you are working on.

  • Dear Strava. Please do this. Best wishes, Sandy.

  • No pictures via the webesite since years, but there are enough resources to implement complete unnecessary 'Athlete Posts'. It's one of some reasons, why strava in my opinion is no serious platform for training.

  • This thread is almost a year old.  It's clear they have given up on this.  So here's an idea:  Every body here needs to start a new thread...every single day.  Dominate the community with the same question from 20+ different people.  This will force them to address it.

  • upvote the first comment that's what counts, not how long or how many comments

  • There's been some discussion at Strava about making photo uploading via the website happen later in 2017. I'm tentatively marking this request as planned but please understand that we cannot make any promises. However, we'll do our best and I will keep everyone posted with more information if it becomes available.
