Landscape View

Come on guys, it's been years since this app was launched... LANDSCAPE FUNCTIONALITY!

If the app actually was able to be run on landscape I would be able to just use my phone on cruiser rides.

This is LITERALLY the only thing keeping me from purchasing premium.

  • Same. I've been trying to use Strava for about a month now and I keep finding little things like this that force me into using other products instead.

  •

+1.   Scratched my head for a while trying to figure out what I was doing wrong (thought I had my phone locked from rotation or something).  Simply didn't dawn on me that an app like Strava would fail to go to landscape mode in late 2018.

  • It is ridiculous that there is not a landscape mode for the iPad app. Does anyone at Strava know that the new iPads are 30 percent faster than a new MacBook Pro. Strava the world is going mobile, you should too.

  • Still no landscape mode in 2019?? Keep opening the app on my tablet while it's docked in landscape and just jumps to portrait... It's giving me a sore neck :'(

  • Premium member here. I finally found a phone mount I really like and am disappointed to see that it’s not useful with Strava because Strava lacks landscape mode.

  • I bought a small device to mount Strava but it doesn't work in landscape mode. I am disappointed.

  • I think this is the most important factor that keeps me from paying a premium account.

  • Stava is the best and most renowned cycling app...but I agree, a landscape feature is badly needed!

  • It has been said. Landscape mode needed. I would purchase premium if this becomes available. Thanks

  • COME ON GUYS, PLEASE GIVE US THE OPTION OF LANDSCAPE MODE. It would be easier to use on a tablet in landscape.

  • It is ugly on tablets! It forces you to hold it vertically! Please add a landscape mode!

  • Please add landscape view functionality.

  • Well Strava, you heard it enough yet?  I agree with all the above comments. I have an iPad and when docked with the keyboard I have to literally turn my head sideways to see the app. Come on, this is not too much to ask to have a landscape mode.

  • And where we are? A year after and still nothing. The same stupid portrait view on tablets.

Honestly, Strava has gotten so problematic that I am considering on moving to something else. Think of it like poor support, even for simple things, to more serious problems like the low accuracy on android, so low that in several occasions it does not match a singe segment on a 100km ride.

But what do you expect. There is nothing real here, just a layer of stuff on the base of google maps. No optimizations, no additional features, nothing.

And before any developer jumps in and states that I should tweak this, clear that, I have tried everything. The problem is still the same, a product of awful quality. Let them have a look at other map (offline) apps that lock your position quickly and accurately.

That makes a subscription for the so long summit that pops up like... worth nothing, absolutely nothing.

  • Seems like this should be an easy task for programmers.  Could understand Strava not having resources 3 years ago, but now?

  • I totally agree with everyone's comments landscape mode should just be a function for the devices that can support it.  I hope Strava listen to their customers.

  • Can't believe this crap - they charge something for premium features, but don't have the most basic ones implemented. It's 2020 out there, hello, Strava!

  • No response at all from anyone at Strava after 2.5 years. I guess they just can't figure out how to do it.

  • Also a premium user for years now.

The lack of landscape mode on my ipad limits the utility of the app, and the lack of response to users’ requests here as to why it can’t be done or when it will be is disappointing.

  • So the question is: is there another app that DOES run in landscape mode?

  • iPad landscape mode wanted. Apple will most likely define landscape on iPad as the new "default" view with iPadOS 14. Please Strava, take care of your loyal users.

  • It's not just iPads, it's only portrait on all tablets, mine's a Samsung. Very very annoying.  What seems like a basic function in design, is obviously baffling these software geeks!
