Galaxy watch app completely unreliable

I have had the full range of issues from app crashing to not synching to saying it is recording then when I stop the activity it tells me I ran for 2 seconds after putting in 30 mins plus of effort. Please could we get some acknowledgement that there is a problem with reliability. I am a paying member of the Strava community but it is not useable on my device at present. The Samsung app is better and they don't even specialise in fitness!

  • I am having the same problem as well when recording bike rides and running with Samsung Galaxy S3 watch. It quits after starting the activity and I lose all recording.

    Please fix!

  • They are not going to fix this. My advice, bin the Strava app and use Samsung Health synced with Strava, works much better and the Samsung Health watch app is better in every way, audible information whilst exercising (mile time, total time, heart rate and cadence), well thought out display, obvious GPS indicator - basically everything that the Strava app isn't. I was going to buy Strava premium this year as I've massively upped my game running (and plan to do the same for cycling when the floods recede) but I don't see the point at the moment while the app is so poor.

  • Yeah i have sacked off tthe Strava malware ;D   shame as I liked the mobile version.

You still get the premium analysis features if you sync workouts from Samsung HEalth, annoying paying for something when part of it I want is so broken though!

  • yep I have the same issue on the Galaxy Watch Active 2.

I've been in contact with Strava and they have no plans to address the issue. The accuracy is there on the watch, it's a setting within the S Health that you can enable the high accuracy, but Strava have said they aren't bothering to use it. So I'll be using Samsung instead!

  • Weird hey, why spend time creating most of an app then not bother bug fixing!

  • I chose the Samsung watch based on Strava support. Disappointed that this fix is taking so long to resolve. Will look to use alternative running apps ?

  • So, looking at the responses above, should I delete the Strava app from my galaxy watch and record my run from Samsung health app on my watch, which I have connected to Strava?  Is there anyway I can remove the auto detection from Samsung health also?  For the record, I too chose the Samsung watch based on Strava support!

  • Same issue.

Will try Samsung Fitness synced to Strava approach suggested above.

Thanks for workaround. A fix from Strava would be better, but that will do for now.
