  • Specific examples and details that illustrate the problem/confusion you are experiencing. For example: When I do ___, then ___ happens and that is not ok because ___.
  • Screenshots that help visually illustrate the problem. For example: Here is a picture illustrating my point ___ from above. See how ___ is doing ___?
  • An explanation of why this is important. For example: This is important to me because ___.
  • If you propose a solution, an explanation of how that solution would help you and why that is important. For example: I think a ___ would be great because then I could see ___. This is important to me because I have to ___.

  • I have a on a few occasions found segment results that are clearly wrong, e.g. when someone that does a 50K ride at an average speed of 25kph suddenly does more than 50kph on a flat segment towards the end of their registered ride. A quick check typically shows that they probably finished their ride, put their bike away and set off in a car without stopping the recording.  I've also found results due to obviously wrong GPS recordings. In most cases these are honest mistakes and not attempts to cheat so it is annoying that the there is no way of just flagging the part of the ride that is obviously wrong. Instead the only option is to flag the whole ride. All results from a flagged ride are immediately removed from any segment leaderboards. Some users may feel this is a bit unfair if the ride included some genuine KOMs or PRs but I guess it may encourage users to trim their activities when errors like that occurs.

  • You should be able to view your PRs by power, in addition to time. Time is subject to a whole host of variables (traffic, lights, wind etc.), but power is amuch better metric as tracking consistency. For those who have a power meter and upload power data you should be able to rank segment PRs by your power files as well as your time.

  • I recently had to give up running for medical reasons. It's disheartening to have only running, cycling and swimming available for "My Data". I walk every day, but when I look at my Profile, my stats show that I've moved 0.00km this week.

I would love to have additional options added to the stats options on the profile page - namely, walking.

  • I run with a stroller. Could you add that as a category (along with running, walking etc)? And it would also be super fancy (and rewarding) if it would be possible to specify the weight of the stroller (including children, groceries, dogs and what not).

    Thanks!

Edit: sorry if this is not the correct thread.

  • It sure would be nice if any "runs" with a pace faster than 4min/mile would prompt the user to confirm it was a run, not a ride, or a run, and not the drive home. I'm seeing tons of run segments with impossibly fast CRs and it really waters down the run and brilliance of Strava to flag all that. It would be so simple. Any segment in excess of .25 miles, at a pace faster than 4:00min/mile, just a confirmation screen.... Thanks!

  • I run in a very mixed group- both in age and gender- would there ever be an option to include Age/Gender %- so we can compare efforts across these groups- it would help with inclusivity and allow a whole new area of achievement. This would perhaps be more meaningful- especially to runners than body weight!

  • Is there a way to view an overview in your club - not just a leaderboard of which would be nice to include other activities like rowing and paddling and swimming and not just running and cycling. As currently only having these two on the leaderboard is excluding a lot of my members. :-(

Secondly, I would like to see an overview of all members - a Pie chart if you will of all the activities, hours and distance done for all members collectively.

Please let me know if this can be done or not?

Agreed. That is what the CROP feature is for on every activity (tools menu) so that the athlete can edit and remove the part done in a car. Problem is that so many athletes do not know it is there, or how to use it and Strava does not send out notifications to users on such things.

( It is also useful to remove the start and end of your activity before making public so people can not determine where your house is. )

  • Could you please either add "5 miles" to the list of All-Time PRs or add a custom button so users can add their own custom distances? 5 miles is a common race distance and having run a course record, I’d love to include the distance.

  • I really appreciate the PR reporting on the running page.

Is it possible to have PR's for for biking and swimming, too?

  • Why can we not filter leaderboards with a start date / end date feature ? This would be much better than current settings of today/ this week /this month/ this year / all time. Would be able to do selective search for example tracking a performance/event eg last summer in June.

  • Yearly Best efforts

It would be great if STRAVA could add a tab for the yearly best efforts.  The best effort currently shown for many people is based on an activity years ago which is something that they might not be able to achieve anymore (due to circumstances that change).  It would thus be nice if you could see your best effort for the current year.  This will help keep people motivated.

Currently under the statstics page the Stats for previous years can be viewed (total hours, distance, elevation & runs).  If the best efforts for the year could be added in this section that would be great

  • Additional support for Activity Type = Nordic Skiing.

Would you add a way to denote if the Nordic Skiing activity is Skate or Classic when uploading/updating an activity?

Would you also add a filter when searching activities to allow a search for Skate vs Classic when activity type = Nordic Skiing.

Would you also allow a filter on Nordic Skiing leader boards for Skate vs Classic.

Would you also allow filtering in Nordic Ski groups to Nordic Skiing, Roller Skiing type of activities if the Group owner so desired this type filtering.

    Thank you for your consideration.

  • Can you make live segments available for the ebike category. I pay extra money for access to this feature and I keep waiting for it to be available. Live segments is total useless if you are competing against old school pedal people. This feature is worth the extra cost and I want to continue paying. The ebike category is really missing Challenges, Awards and or any cross platform functions too. Being an ebike rider I would like to have the same access to all of the same Strava features that a regular runner or cyclist has. My Apple Watch app doesn't even have a selection for ebike. I need to choose a regular bike as the sport and then ride my ride. Hopefully I have enough time to edit the ride to ebike sport on my phone or computer before the pedal police try to call me out as an ebike rider, Sometimes its the good cop and sometimes its the bad cop. Id rather avoid the awkwardness . Maybe add SAILING as a sport, I like to post my sails and currently I have to post them as WINDSURFING. Sailing is a sport. It was represented at The First Olympic Games...

  • Would it be possible to add an icon such as "SB" for Season Best results on Strava segments? As some of us are getting a bit on in age, it's getting harder and harder to hit PB's from 5 years ago or even achieving "trophies" on our rides.  Seeing a SB result would be motivating throughout the year and help me forget how old I'm getting.

  • Don’t know if it’s been addressed, I would like the ability to view all my top 10 finishes on all segments completed, you can see all KOM’s achieved, if all KOM’s can be shown don’t know why top tens can’t be .

  • As mentioned above, seasonal or yearly PB's would be great.  Currently on the slow slog back to fitness after a long injury enforced break.  I've got no chance of either segment or distance PR's for the foreseeable future so it would be great to have it at least have something pop up saying "Best time this year" or "Fastest 5km of 2021" etc.

  • I would like to be able to see stats for my walking activities as well as my cycling. I have recorded my cycling activities for several years now and found Strava to be excellent for this. As a result I recently transferred my walking/hiking activities from another app, and was disappointed to find that Strava only seems to show stats for the 3 triathalon activities of cycling, running and swimming (see screenshot below).Walking/hiking is my other main activity apart from cycling, and I would like to be able to see my stats for the same reason as I do for cycling. This would help me because I find it motivating and I am able to plan my activities better, as well as reflecting back on what I have achieved, and compare my efforts with others. I realize there are a lot of activities that people might like to record, but walking is very popular, and would not be so different to running in terms of recording stats. Some people have suggested recording walks as runs, but this seems unsatisfactory, unless the category was changed to 'running/walking'

  • The more you ride and the better you perform the harder it is to have any achievements. Strava should award plaques if you beat a top 10 time on the leaderboard even if it is your 4th best effort on that segment.

For example. Suppose I have a KOM of 1:00 on a segment and two other times of 1:01 & 1:02 already logged in Strava. If I get a 1:03 today on a ride I will not be awarded any trophies even if my time is better than the 10th fastest time on the leaderboard.

it would be a nice way to reward you for extra efforts, esp in areas where there are not a whole lot of segments to ride.

    thanks,

    Chris

  • I have seen this mentioned a few times already in the previous posts above but I will echo it again because I think it's a much needed feature.

Please add Top 10 results to the profile page. We have an entire tab on the profile for KOM/QOM and for most people this is empty because only a select few, very fit individuals ever get KOM/QOM. It would be nice if this tab also showed your Top 10 results. That would make a lot of people feel better about themselves and also inspire them to get back out on that trail and try to get higher on the list. At the moment I cant find any easy way either on the app or the website where I can see a summary of my best results, Top 10 results. The only summary is my KOM results for which I have just 1. I must have at least 10-20 Top 10 results and it would be cool to be able to see them all and check back every now and then to see if my position on the Top 10 has changed etc. This should be easy to add this to the KOM/QOM list.

  • Feature Request for UltraRunners !!!

I think Ultra running starts to be a bit more widespread and i/we would like to see Estimated Best Efforts for the following Distances:

    -50km (there's already World/Regional Championships for this)

    -50 mile

    -100km (there's already World/Regional Championships for this)

    -100mile

    Time Based:

    -6h

    -12h

    -24h (there's already World/Regional Championships for this)

    Thank you !!

  • Jojo - Please look into the issue where people virtual rides on Zwift are getting imported into Strava as virtual runs instead.  This is suddenly happening ALL THE TIME!  It is messing up the challenges in Strava with a bunch of rides being listed as runs.  From what people are reporting, they are not able to go in an edit the activity type in Strava either, so they have no way to fix it.  According to the support response I got when I sent that it, they said that Strava is stripping the activity type out of the file when it strips the health data for people who haven't granted Strava permission to use/see their health data.  There is no reason Strava should be removing the activity type data from the file.  This should be an easy fix.

  • Backing this idea and adding more info:

    https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360073560211/comments/360014150892

I want to be able to see my segment efforts ranked by average power.

It will allow me to see those segments which I have completed with hardest effort somewhat negating the effects of weather and riding in a group or not. (Note thatriding at high power whilst in a group / with a following wind will still be beneficial as the segment will be finished quicker meaning the high power will have to be held for a shorter duration).

The reason that is important is because the wind direction on a given day or whether I rode in a group or not can have a massive bearing on the power / effort required.

When I do a hard effort in a segment into the wind there is almost no chance it will ever appear at the top of my best times despite being the hardest effort and that is not ok because it was a best "effort" if not best time (which may have been achieved with a 30 mph tailwind).

This is important to me because I'd like an easy way to view my best (hardest) efforts in a segment, not necessarily my fastest.

I think an option to rank my own efforts (everybodys efforts?) by power would be great because then I could see my hardest efforts irrespective of external factors. This is important to me because I'd like to be able to track power improvements over segments.

  • Hi,

I think it would save time for both user and Strava support team if you allowed users to remove Best Efforts that are inaccurate.

Let's be honest we are all dealing with GPS issues. We can try and reduce any inaccurate recording of data, but in reality it will happen to everyone.

It seems pointless having Strava support team deal with this enquiry when it can be simply removed by the user.

    Regards,
    Dan

  • I don't know if the idea has already been submitted or not. During a training run with friends, we were taking 2-3 segments and we had this thought.
Why should we fight for segments against people who are not in the same category as us? And why should we set unattainable records for some people?

As we continued our race we had this thought. In all sports, even running, competitions are done by level. But not yet on Strava.

So an idea came to us. Why not make the system similar to what we see in many video games. Rankings by category (Diamond 1, Diamond 2 [...], Bronze 1, Bronze 2) with a proper language that Strava would create. Records/segments that also belong to these categories. Category changes according to our monthly, quarterly or yearly statistics and our records in competition.
This would probably allow us to grow more via the application by setting goals that correspond to us and that are not at the level of the best runner in our region.
Of course, we could also keep the "all time record" side. But I think that a development of this kind of functionality could allow many of us to find an additional interest in running virtually with/against each other.

Feel free to tell me what you think about it and if you have other ideas to add, I'm interested :).

  • ^ segment leaderboards are already filterable by all time/this year, overall, age, gender and weight ...how many more "levels" do you want ?

And how would you put people in categories ? If you use an official category, which I assume your example of Diamond, Bronze is, they will not be universal across the world.  IMHO, letting people compare their performance against others in the same age or weight group, as well as overall, should be more than enough.

  • I would like to see categories for weights be expanded to be more inclusive of the larger bodied riding community. Right now the highest category for Top 10's is 250lbs +. As a 300lbs+ rider, I can tell you that there is not really a comparison to the efforts of a 253lb rider and a 330lb rider. And as a paying customer that is obese I feel that there should be more inclusion for heavier riders so that they can better gauge where their efforts fall with others in their weight group. If I was 80lbs lighter, sure I'd be faster but the reality is I'm not but I still ride regularly and would like to see how my efforts stack up to people that weigh more closer to my weight than someone who's 80 lbs lighter than me.

  • I think it would be a great feature to show an athlete's Top 10's alongside their KOMs & CRs on the profile page, this would allow users to quickly compare their segment efforts to different athletes beyond just the KOM & CRs or the segment pages, and also allows a user to keep track of their own efforts beyond just KOM's and CR's.

Here is a screenshot to give an idea, either with Top 10 added as a table in the KOM / CR page or as a separate tab.

  • Hi, I would like to pass on a suggestion. It would be great if each person had a total number of current top 10 cups shown in profile. No need to have as much detail as KOM, just a current total.
Reason I say this is for the majority of people KOM's are not achievable. I personally have a couple but that is only because they are obscure. The problem I have in my area is we have one person with 3000+ KOM's because 1) they are very good and 2) they literally go out every day and get the KOM they lost that day or day before. Good for them but makes the KOM's pointless for everyone else. Please consider, would really give the average person something to aim at.
    Thanks

  • E-bikes in MTB segments and/or Bike activities in run segments

I suggest that you implement an Artificial Intelligence policy in the analysis of segment achievements. The mountain bike segments are being invaded by ebikes, as well as some of run activities that are made by bicycle.
It is not difficult to do this analysis and correct this problem. I know that I can flag the activity and I do that. But the number of wrong activity types are growing. I'm suggesting that you can implement some type of analyses using artificial intelligence to do that work.
I inform you that I am extremely unhappy with the situation, so the premium subscription for me no longer makes sense, as I use live segments a lot and it's not funny anymore and loses all its functionality.
