How to format your new idea and/or feedback:

Feedback that is actionable and constructive is most effective. When sharing, please consider the following when framing your thoughts:

  • If you have a new idea, it's helpful for us to understand why that feature is important for you and the value it will bring. For example: I want __. It will allow me to do ___. The reason that is important is because of ___. An example of when I needed that was ___.
  • Specific examples and details that illustrate the problem/confusion you are experiencing. For example: When I do ___, then ___ happens and that is not ok because ___.
  • Screenshots that help visually illustrate the problem. For example: Here is a picture illustrating my point ___ from above. See how ___ is doing ___?
  • An explanation of why this is important. For example: This is important to me because ___.
  • If you propose a solution, an explanation of how that solution would help you and why that is important. For example: I think a ___ would be great because then I could see ___. This is important to me because I have to ___.

If someone has already suggested the same idea as you, you can help us quantify the demand for the feature or improvement by upvoting the original comment. To upvote, click the up arrow on the right-hand side of the comment.

  • Hello, is there a plan to add activity type "kick scooter"? I am just finding some replacement for Endomondo and it is one of the points for my decision.

  • Hello,

In activity analysis page (such as https://www.strava.com/activities/00000000/analysis), I would like to:

    - Have a "reset selection" action to cancel selection of the ride

    - Have a "curve smooter" option, maybe with several options in second intervals (3, 5, 10, 20 sec...) or a custom field

    Thanks a lot :)

  • Facepalming P. Thanks for your comment. This specific topic is just one of the several that exist within our Community Forum. While we might not respond to every comment we do monitor these Forums and share feedback with appropriate teams regularly. If you have not read our Community Discussion Guidelines yet, we would suggest that as a starting point.
In regards to viewing your XOMs and Local Legend status in the mobile app, this is possible by tapping on the 'Maps' icon at the bottom, then navigating to the 'Saved' tab.

  • The strava could generate a report that could be extracted to the excel platform. It would be interesting to have a report that could be amplified in the details.

  • I would like to have a version of segments on strava for Potholes so that you can get a warning of upcoming dangers this would help reduce the number of injured cyclists and damaged bikes.

  • I'm sure I am not the only person that uses miles and kilometres. Whenever I run the units I typically think in are miles. When cycling my brain thinks in terms of kilometres. I typically only need this when viewing completed activities. I know you can change it by going into options and changing the settings. However, this takes a significant effort.

On my phone this requires I back out of the activity I am viewing. Go to settings. Select display. Select units. Select the alternate. Hit back, twice, which will get me to my feed. Then I have to select the activity I want to view for it to update to the new unit.

By these steps if I want to switch between viewing in miles/kms, and in my case I do as the feed has runs and rides, I have to press 8 buttons just to change once, let alone change back.

There are a number of ways this could be fixed.

    - Tapping the metric, speed/pace/distance, and it or all switching.

    - A miles/km button in the activity

    - An extra option within the display settings, allowing different units for different activities

Personally I'd like the ability to switch between on the fly, so when speaking to someone else that uses different units to yourself you can quickly compare.

  • Feature request!

Sort/filter PRs and matched rides by bike.

I have 2 mountain bikes, a cross country and a more trail type bike. The trail bike is much heavier than the cross country. I sometimes ride the trail bike on cross country trails just for training purposes... It makes me faster when I go back to my lighter cross country bike. It would be helpful to be able to compare my performance across the two different bikes. I can't touch my PRs I've set on my cross country bike with my trail bike, and there's no easy way for me to look at a segment and see which attempts were set with which bike to see if I'm improving on my trail bike. All I can really tell is that I'm slower on my trail bike!

  • Mat Beer I completely agree with you! They need to step it up with the forum, riders need to exchange info and ideas.

  • My Performance / Heart Rate Zones, max heart rate setting: Strava help says "By default, we determine your heart rate zones by estimating your max heart rate based on your age". Sounds like there's a button you click to select the this default max heart rate. But there isn't. And even if you ask Strava support to set it for you, they tell me it's not going to change as you get older, and it should.

Please can you add a 'use default max heart rate' button in the Heart Rate Zones section of My Performance, and when this is enabled, update this value as it changes with the athlete's age.

The help should be clearer as well.

    Cheers

    John

  • Does anyone know a way to set a walking goal on the strava website. I only am able to set goals for running and cycling?

  • Feature Request:

Combine select activities into a single personal map, either automatically by location or manually by selecting relevant activities. This would be less about the actual activities that get included, and more about making your own trail map. Maybe even be able to annotate and share the resulting map.

I know I have been to many areas for mountain biking, road riding, or running, where wish I could make a map of the trails by simply running different routes each time I visit. And then that map could be my reference for planning out routes, or sharing with friends to help them plan routes

  • Emerson Wyper we have a feature called the Personal Heatmap available for Subscribers that hopefully serves the purpose you're looking for. You can read more about it here - https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/216918467-Activity-Heatmaps-Premium- and see the updates we've made to it on web as well as bringing it to mobile with some additional customization option this year. You can even overlay it on the Maps feature on Mobile or while building new Routes on the web.

  • I can't see a forum topic to post a suggestion about strava features so I'll do it here...

I want to financially support Strava through a paid subscription, I just need a feature that I want as an excuse. I only really use strava to keep in touch with my close riding/running community so the current subscription features don't interest me as I'm not a competitive rider/runner.

If you could provide a paid subscription feature of an import filter for Garmin connect I'd jump at it. By filter I mean only importing specific activity types such as runs and bike rides, ideally that aren't commutes. That way I could have my default visibility set to 'Followers Only' and not have my followers feeds choked up with my strength, yoga, swim and gym workouts! (This is especially true of ride/run commutes.) Unfortunately I currently need to set my default to private and manually publish just those that my followers might be interested in.

Like I say I'd happily pay for this feature as it would also reduce clutter in my private activity log.

  • Hi Bc B. thanks for your feedback, we value it greatly. Your method of defaulting all your activities to "Only Me" and manually switching the ones you want to be visible to others is a common practice. We understand our athletes would like greater control over how certain Sport Types appear by default, and I will gladly pass this feedback along.
We recently launched the option to hide activities from the home feed. You can read more about this feature here. Additionally, there is a site that lets you connect your Strava account and set up certain criteria or update several different settings in your activities and you can decide when a rule should be applied, so you can default certain Sport Types to be "muted" and hidden from the home feed with it. If you wish to try it out, you can find it here: https://www.activityfix.com/

  • If you select the 'Time' map type you can see the direction of travel from the shade of orange which gradually gets darker.

  • I want to make a suggestion, but feel there is no avenue for that here.  I have stopped using Strave because I don't want it to post every activity I do - I record walks for my own information, but don't want people scoffing at a 1.5k walk - when it isn't intended for public info.  I feel I have no control, or if I do, its buried under lots of faff.

  • Thank you for sharing your thoughts on our forum changes. Over the last seven years our forum had grown unwieldy. Our small team struggled to engage with you on the 8000+ threads, which meant that we couldn't keep conversations on-topic or well-organized. Searching for a specific topic was difficult due to the clutter, which resulted in duplicated threads. Ultimately this forum change came down to us realizing we could do better, but that it would require us to start with a clean slate. We didn't take this decision lightly—we knew that you had taken your time to share your ideas over the years and we didn't want you to think we didn't care about your ideas. We audited our top forums before archiving them and will even keep this archive for our product teams to sift through over the next few weeks.

This will be a collaboration between our employees and you, our community, so we invite you to share what's working and what's not in this thread. If there is a topic that you think warrants its own thread, please cast your vote here. We can't approve everything, and we do want to be thoughtful by adding threads at a sustainable pace, but we are here to listen and will take the time to read each new comment.

We're committed to upholding our promise— we want to do a better job of providing you with feature updates, keeping you updated on our future plans, and answering your questions about our roadmap.

You can read more about our reasoning for the change by visiting this Help Center announcement: https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/360049114992
