How to format your new idea and/or feedback:

Feedback that is actionable and constructive is most effective. When sharing, please consider the following when framing your thoughts:

  • If you have a new idea, it's helpful for us to understand why that feature is important for you and the value it will bring. For example: I want __. It will allow me to do ___. The reason that is important is because of ___. An example of when I needed that was ___.
  • Specific examples and details that illustrate the problem/confusion you are experiencing. For example: When I do ___, then ___ happens and that is not ok because ___.
  • Screenshots that help visually illustrate the problem. For example: Here is a picture illustrating my point ___ from above. See how ___ is doing ___?
  • An explanation of why this is important. For example: This is important to me because ___.
  • If you propose a solution, an explanation of how that solution would help you and why that is important. For example: I think a ___ would be great because then I could see ___. This is important to me because I have to ___.

If someone has already suggested the same idea as you, you can help us quantify the demand for the feature or improvement by upvoting the original comment. To upvote, click the up arrow on the right-hand side of the comment.

  • It would be good to have the possibility to schedule future rides to ride toghether with new people. It can work through a post or a automatic emailing.

For example, It could be very useful in holidays when you are in a new location and you don't want to ride alone.

Also, thanks to the Strava database this proposals could have filters like "type of ride" "lenght" "level of the rider" "meeting point" etc...

  • Per Didier HERRERA  and Marcelo Araújo's comments, please add separate options for MTB, road, and gravel biking.  Also add downhill mountain biking with the same functionality as downhill skiing (i.e. chairlifts not counted as riding). I've posted about this before as have many others.  It's a major gap in the app, especially considering all of the other sport options.  I can easily imagine mountain bikers especially abandoning Strava because of this missing functionality.

  • Always a fan of adding downhill MTB as an option that would cut out the chairlift travel time the way https://getslopes.com/ does for Skiing/Snowboarding.

  • There are different ski-options, just add mountainbike. Why not, good for all the future input. And I will change all my bike-activities for the last 10 years. 😀

  • Hi mates. I already have almost 200 saved routes so it's becoming difficult to find a route based on its characteristics like name, distance, elevation, etc.... Are you planning to include search features for saved routes in order to make easier to find them?. Thanks

  • The weather data of an activity should be from the middle of that activity, not from the start. That would be much more representative because activities in the morning mostly have a fast rising temperature and in the evening a fast declining temperature. It's very misleading when my evening activity shows a  hot 30° Celsius temperature when in reality after 3 h ride it was down to 18°C and I was freezing then.

  • @Leandro A. Fun fact: All your arrows are in the wrong direction but that works in favor for your suggestion :-) (Wind direction indicates where the wind is coming from)

  • Regarding the support article about Apple Watch integration together with Apple Health: https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/216917527-Health-App-and-Strava it's now only importing workouts done by Apple Workouts app on the Apple Watch, but there are a lot more apps that using the same format like Apple Workouts because that is begin used in the background and is the only way for app developers to register a "workout". So why don't import all workouts that are being imported into Health by the Apple Watch and not checking only the ones that were recorded by the Apple Workouts app.

I don't believe this would be a hard feature to do because the data is stored in the same format/way, it's default Apple Health.

  • We should be able to post videos in our activities. I understand this would take up server space, so limit it. Limit to subscribers, and limit the duration of video upload by total seconds per day, or number of videos, whatever - but we should be able to post videos.

  • I should be able select a setting that I am never added to groups automatically for any activity at all, or fly bys or any lumping, pairing or grouping - one absolute setting button that is effective regardless of any privacy setting. Click this, and you are never automatically linked to anyone, ever.

  • Could strava please make main road numbers more obvious in strava routes?

When trying to plot a route it would be easier to know for example instead of the road name Watling street add in BOLD that its actually the A5 and it would be easier to not accidentally use that road.

Or colour code roads, Motorways outlined blue, 'A' roads outlined red etc such as on OS maps.

  • MTB service intervals are often in hours. Would be great if the gear page not only tracked miles but also hours

  • I would like to be able to pin photos taken on a route into specific points on the route where they were taken (maybe there could be a little camera icon visible at each point). I don't know how to search for this in other posts so I'm sorry if this has been requested before! I guess it would be like pinned photos in Google Maps 🤷🏻‍♂️.

  • Display Future Routes While Creating New Routes

I am trying to run all the streets in my city. It would be helpful to be able to view future routes that I have already created, on my personal heatmap while I'm creating new routes. This would help to make sure I don't overlap with routes I have planned, but have not yet completed.

  • I did not find anybody pitching in this idea I have, - sorry if it already been mentioned.

I is never easy to get KOMS/CRS,- it should not bee.

Local legends are a good new innovation, easier competition for us normal people.

A new idea is to have Al time best average 50 efforts (for example), and Best 10 average last 90 days.

    :)

  • IMO, strava should create a watch face for either apple/android watches.  Should have time, pace, distance etc.

I use tic watch and much improvement can be made to that interface.  It would be a cool feature the have a strava watch face that you could start an activity right from the face.

  • Maybe you could place a small P on a route where GS detects that a user has paused for say, more than 3 seconds, less than 30 seconds and a small S where the user stops for greater than 30 seconds, then resumes the activity. Not to impact segments or leaderboards, just to reflect on the activity map that is posted.

  • Hey Simon Roberts

We already have this feature in place. We place a thumbnail of the photo in the location at which it was taken if that information is available in the photo's metadata. Usually, you have to allow your photos to have access to your phone's location services for this to happen. This feature is currently web-only.

Photos will never be placed in your privacy zone. It looks like this on the website:

    Hope this helps.

  • Hey Soren, that's great! Thank you for pointing this out. I very rarely look at the web-based version of the app but I love the feature.

  • Since there is still no filter capability from Strava, here are some current rules to clean it up on your end (browser) if using uBlock origin...

    #Virtual activities, like Zwift:

    strava.com##.react-card-container:has(div[data-react-props*='isVirtual":true,"'])

    #Joined challenge notifications

    strava.com##.react-card-container:has(div[data-react-class="ChallengeJoin"])

  • Soren - regarding the photos with location, last I tried it only places them on the map if they are added with a phone app. For whatever reason the behavior still differs when using a web browser and the same photo uploaded from a browser will not be placed on the map.

  • Mojo Monkey -

Thanks for letting us know. I'll be happy to look into this. We recommend that people use the camera app on their phone to produce reliably formatted geo data in their photos and upload them to their activities. Generally, the geo information used to place photos on a map exists in the image's metadata and can be formatted in different ways depending on the device or app used to capture the image. Strava can reliably interpret geo information on photos taken with the default camera apps on Android and iOS. However, we occasionally see situations where we're unable to interpret the geo data in photos when you've manually added geo information to your photos. The best we can recommend in those situations is to try reformatting the geo information in the photos or to use a different program to add the geo data.

  • I would like to filter (or hide automatic) activities of my friends in my feed. For example: some Strava users go out for a walk during lunch time and put this on Strava. I'm not interested in 3 km walks of my friends and it would be nice if these activities wouldn't apear in my feed.

Also would it be nice if I can filter commute trips on bike under a certain speed (eg. hide activities by bike under 20 km/h in my feed).

It would be nice if this wil be possible in the future!

  • Trail maintenance idea. I am a cyclist, runner, trail runner, and mt. biker, along with that i am a trail volunteer. Is there a way to pin issues people run into on trails? Trees down, wash outs, etc. Strava is one of the bigger activity trackers used in my area and it would be very helpful if there was an easy way for the person to pin the location on their route, then send thru email or text to the local trail crew to help locate it and fix it.

  • Apple Watch Feature Request:

    1. Currently you need to swipe over and then tap the pause button to pause an activity. These can be difficult when sweaty. Perhaps a simple double-tap of the screen could pause/unpause an activity which would be closer to the ease of pausing on something like a Garmin watch.

    2. Currently it seems you can only receive silent notifications or audio alerts for completion of a lap. It would be very nice to get a simple vibration to alert you of a lap completion.

    Thanks for listening!

  • I would like to find segments for swimming to compete and challenge with other swimmers and to monitor personal improvement of achievements.

For running and cycling it is very easy to find segments nearby. For swimming this option is not (yet) available although a lot of swimmers use STRAVA and have already created segments. The only way to find them now, is the notice in the activity áfter the swim you recorded…

  • Hello,
In our area we have many Strava users with e-bikes.
I think that they don't know that they are not working properly when they save their rides as normal bike rides.
For some MTB uphill rides we found these users in the top 10.
    That's not really fair.
I asked some of them and they didn't know the difference.
If we want to change the ride to an e-bike ride, that's the last option in the list, so no one saw that.
My idea is when someone saves a ride with good segments, ask in a popup window what type of bike he/she used. (MTB, road bike, e-bikes, etc).
I think this would be a good way to filter out some of the wrong users

  • missing features:

    1. filter Dashboard by activity type. like I wanna see only rides. but hide run or swim. many people I follow ride and run. also filter by distance.

    2. add 'Start date' parameter for personal heatmap. so heatmap created for interval like last 3 months;

    3. for global heatmap would be great to select users. making heatmap from my followers tracks also useful

  • also do something with reporting users who use KOM cheating like riding e-bikes, scooters, motorcycles, etc.
