How to format your new idea and/or feedback:

Feedback that is actionable and constructive is most effective. When sharing, please consider the following when framing your thoughts:

  • If you have a new idea, it's helpful for us to understand why that feature is important for you and the value it will bring. For example: I want __. It will allow me to do ___. The reason that is important is because of ___. An example of when I needed that was ___.
  • Specific examples and details that illustrate the problem/confusion you are experiencing. For example: When I do ___, then ___ happens and that is not ok because ___.
  • Screenshots that help visually illustrate the problem. For example: Here is a picture illustrating my point ___ from above. See how ___ is doing ___?
  • An explanation of why this is important. For example: This is important to me because ___.
  • If you propose a solution, an explanation of how that solution would help you and why that is important. For example: I think a ___ would be great because then I could see ___. This is important to me because I have to ___.

If someone has already suggested the same idea as you, you can help us quantify the demand for the feature or improvement by upvoting the original comment. To upvote, click the up arrow on the right-hand side of the comment.

  • Can we tighten up the tolerances on segments for mountain bike ride types? The way it currently works segments and bragging rights are sorta useless.

  • Mixed Units - Imperial and Metric.

I live in UK and would like to be able to have metres for swimming but miles for cycling/running. Other training software gives me flexible options. it would be good to have more flexibility of choice or even just display both for distance?

  • Add Handcycle & Wheelchair as a Primary sport:

Currently the only options for "Primary sport" are Running or Cycling. I love competing, but since my sport is lumped in with able body cycling and not one of its own, I am forced to compete with able body athletes.  I appreciate that Handcycle & Wheelchair is listed as an activity - it shows you care a little bit about inclusion.  Let's take it a step further and put our activities into its own leaderboard separating us from the able body folks.  I would like to see these changes made so that athletes with disabilities can compete on our own level.

Additionally, When I set my activity as handcycle, all of my Achievements for that ride go away.

If anyone would like to talk about this you can email me usmcjeff7489@gmail.com

  • The Training Plans feature is a nice perk, but please offer different lengths of training plans or at least offer longer training plans for marathons. I've started marathon training this week and have 16 weeks before my race. Strava currently only offers 12-week McMillan training plans for marathon training - it would be great to have a 16-week plan, as that's commonly how long folks take to train for a marathon.

  • Visualising tours / multi-day activities

I suggest to have a feature where you can join activities together. For example if you are doing a multi-day bikepacking tour you can link together all your days' activities into one post and get the total distance, time, elevation of the whole trip and a map with the various "stages". Its a feature that Samsung Health - and maybe some other sport tracking apps - already have.

  • I know this doesn't fit in Strava, but motor riders are unfortunately using Strava as well to record/document their rides. They are using the 'ride' activity and this is messing up the leadership boards. Is it an option to add moto ride as a separate activity (only show them some basic data e.g. map, total kms, total elevation) or else build some algorithm that can identify unusual speed. Especially on ascents you will see that moto bikes go faster than humanly possible on a bike. Also the average speed of the entire ride is most of the time much higher than possible on a bicycle. There are plenty of indicators that can be used to identify them and ban their segment results from the leadership boards. Thanks

  • I find sometimes when I am out cycling before work and then as I check the time, begin wondering if I should turn back home. It would be good to define a "home" location and then press a "go home" button in app, to get an approximation of my return journey in distance/time. This way I can ascertain if I can afford extra time to go that little bit further or I should really head back.

  • Segments times more reliable

Recently, I don't even care about the best times for a segment or KOM's.

It is becoming very common to have GPS bugs or erratic activities registering a KOM or Best of the day for a segment.

There are segments with 18 s/km pace for a running !!! Other ones, the activity is clearly a Cycling but the person selected Run and the app do nothing to avoid those situations.

I would suggest to the app automatically filter those things like GPS bugs that make possible a 18 s/km run, or to detect an "abnormal speed" for a run/walk and confirm with the user if the Run is really a Run before register his/her time into segment ranking. Register the activity, but not at the segment rank until the confirmation if the activity is a Run/Walk or a Cycling instead.

  • Hello, I have an enhancement suggestion.

I really enjoy flybys. I suggest that the playback is merged with Google street view still showing bike avatars but on real streets. IT would be like watching a video replay of the ride. Harder to do with non-road tracks of course.

  • How implementing a new system for product feature requests to we can order by newest one first or even supporting a better search tool to look for past requests. Perhaps also have Strava community forum leads can indicate which requests have been added or being worked on (like video which has already been released). It would make this more interactive for us and give you better suggestions on features that would really keep Strava the goal standard for activity tracking.  Keep up the good work.

  • One feature I wish was on Strava was the ability to split up mileage on one workout to multiple shoes. It's definitely a niche problem but I think a lot of competitive runners would use it. Any time I do a workout, I warm-up and cool down in different shoes than the workout, and would love to count that more accurately.

  • I want Strava to revert back to the base map as the default trail ______ activity map. The new 3D default is not aesthetically pleasing in the slightest, and in mountainous terrain the actual route is often obstructed by the terrain features on which it took place. It feels like this new feature is being forced on users due to the fact that it takes not one, not two, but often THREE tries to reset the map type to anything other than 3D default.

Please, please, please...make the 3D optional and reset the default to the typical Strava map w/ topo.

  • I'd like to see a new Activity Type in Strava for "Fitness Gaming".  The Apple Fitness Workout App picks it up from my Virtual Reality headset (Oculus Quest), but it doesn't automatically get imported into Strava like the other activities (like indoor cycling).  Ultimately I record it manually in Strava as a "Workout", but it doesn't get things like Heart Rate data and associated graphs.  The main Fitness Gaming app that I use regularly on the Oculus Quest is "Supernatural". Its Facebook (Meta) group has 61.4K members and seems to be growing fast.  Hope you include this category soon as a new Activity Type. All the best for making Strava a fantastic app! Thanks for listening.

  • Display Preferences

I want to be able to select a default map type (surface type for me) for my activities.  It will save me having to edit each activity on completion. This is important is because it is frustrating to have to edit each time, when other default preferences (units, default image etc) can be easily set.

Also, like others have already suggested, I want to be able to select NOT to see Challenges in my Activity Feed; I’m not interested and they simply clutter the feed with junk.  This is important is because it is frustrating to have to scroll past so many on a regular basis to see the actual activities of those I follow.

Finally, it would be good to be able to select the activity type(s) you view in the Feed (e.g. ‘real’ cycling, Zwift cycling, walks, runs etc).

In a nutshell, I think your subscribing customers should be able to customise their Activity Feed to see what they want to see.

  • Please can have the ability to order activities in Watch OS? The ‘new activity’ screen has been rearranged so its no longer shows run/ride/walk even though I’m sure these are the most common. I’d like to be able to put it back so i can see the only three options i use.

  • I hope I haven't missed it, but I don't think my request has been made in here yet.

I would like the moving average speed to be calculated for each lap as well as the overall ride.

If I'm joining a group ride, I might ride to the start point (and then ride home after).  I don't want to record 3 rides for the outing, I'd prefer to have the Strava activity capture it all.  But obviously the intensity for the main ride is different from the other sections.  I'm happy to use the lap function on my computer to insert the separation markers, but I want the same various stats that Strava is able to provide for the full ride to also be available for the laps...

Alternatively, if I'm required to have separate activities for each leg of a ride, I'd like to be able to group them as an overall activity to combine them for tracking purposes.

  • It would be very nice to have a place to discuss improvements for the Strava app. My specific idea is about how segment matching behaves (there is a way to improve it significantly) but there are also other things that could be improved there. Unfortunately right now there isn't anywhere to post about those things.

  • Hi Strava.

It's great that maps now shows where segments start etc, but is it possible to flag dangerous roads for all riders to see?

I ask ask my local area probably like a lot of the world or at least the UK are experiencing increasing numbers of violent bike thefts, where often solo riders are targeted by 2+ motorbikes forcing riders off their bikes sometimes with knives.

I think enabling this via your maps function would be one of the best and safest additions you could offer.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

    Thank you.

  • I want the Strava Apple Watch app to be smarter about what activities it presents on the "home screen". Right now when I open the app to start tracking a workout, the first two items it suggest are "Outdoor run" and "Trail run." I've never used either activity. On the other hand I regularly bike, walk, and row. Rowing comes very far down the list. So I wish I could either myself control the order in which activities are presented, or that the app would be present my most frequently used activities first.  This would allow me to get started more quickly. The reason that is important is because of the current setup is a unnecessary distraction. An example of when I needed that feature was every morning I went rowing.

  • I want to be able to rearrange the order of activities in the Strava app on my smart watch. It will allow me to more quickly and easily find the activity I want to use. The reason that is important is because when I go on a walk with my dog his leash is in my hand and cycling down to find walk is more difficult.

  • worst issue ever. after huge update with trail features (mostly pointless features) strava app on android become to unusable for trail running. yes, to download a route into mobile is a very good idea, but, at the same time, if no cellular network with internet (its a usual situation if you are real trail runner), strava cant  show map, cant show a path, that  already recorded during current training, cant show direction (arrow is absent) and, finally, even cant show your position!!! its an epic fail! best trail feature - to help get lost in unknown hell)) this issue widelly known, many friend claimed.

  • Rob Johns, I gave your original comment an upvote.
We should all upvote these related issues.
I would hope that Strava would fix this mistake, but upvotes can't hurt can they?

  • I’d like to see cycle segment times based on equipment. I have two bikes. I’m not fussed against others, happy to accept not having that feature for ease. This is more for my own knowledge. Trying to ride against a gravel bike on a MTB makes the drive to beat times near impossible. I want to make sure I’m on point when riding to the woods for more aggressive downhill trails.

  • I use my iphone to keep pace on my  segment times. I have to run my Apple Watch too, and cancel my phone recording at the end to ensure I get heartbeat stats from my watch recording. Why can’t the Strava app not take your health stats to compliment this for the phone recording. Seems a bit counter productive using two recordings to get visibility whilst riding, and another for heart analysis after. Hope that makes sense.

  • Age categories are too broad. Especially above the age of 50 years, the annual decay (~ cardiac output) goes exponential. That is why most countries have 5 years for the range of age categories. Strava has sufficient data to change the age categories from 55-64 to 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and so on. In my opinion, it should even be considered to narow the range from the age of 45.

  • Map for military veterans.

There are many map types that you can pick after an activity. Could Strava please put a map for military veterans/military families/military support.

    Thank you.

  • A possible tool would be a distance counter for certain equipment of a bike, such as replaced tire or chain. This allow us discovery if a type of tire is more or less durable of than others.

  • It would be helpful to me if I could analyse my efforts for segments not only as metrics by effort (as it currently is) but as efforts by metric. Right now I highlight/select an effort and I can see the metrics trended over the duration of the effort, and hat is like to be able to do is inversely highlight/select a metric and see that metric across my efforts. This would make it so much.more interesting to see how say my speed/power/heart rate etc... has trended by my efforts/different time periods.

  • Hello Strava,

I would like to make a new suggestion about the clubs in strava.

I see that it's a bit strange to give the 'admin' role in the club the ability to delete the club as i suggest that this last action can be done only by the 'owner'.

Apart from that thanks for the cool app i love it!
