Feedback that is actionable and constructive is most effective. When sharing, please consider the following when framing your thoughts:

  • If you have a new idea, it's helpful for us to understand why that feature is important for you and the value it will bring. For example: I want __. It will allow me to do ___. The reason that is important is because of ___. An example of when I needed that was ___.
  • Specific examples and details that illustrate the problem/confusion you are experiencing. For example: When I do ___, then ___ happens and that is not ok because ___.
  • Screenshots that help visually illustrate the problem. For example: Here is a picture illustrating my point ___ from above. See how ___ is doing ___?
  • An explanation of why this is important. For example: This is important to me because ___.
  • If you propose a solution, an explanation of how that solution would help you and why that is important. For example: I think a ___ would be great because then I could see ___. This is important to me because I have to ___.

  • In the "Analyze Effort" page of a Segment in the Mobile App, it would so much more useful if we could pick and overlay two of the segment efforts. This would allow us to compare together the line graphs for heart rate, speed, time, and power of both the efforts.

  • I have all my shoes listed on Strava, and that's quite helpful to see the mileage that I put on them, but is there any way to make that information clickable? Can I click on a shoe and see all the activities that I've done on that shoe? Something like a filter setting?

I feel like that might help people work out why they think a particular shoe causes a niggle, or whether a particular style of shoe works better for them over a shorter distance, like 5km vs half marathon etc.

It would be nice to be able to pinpoint things like "Huh, I get that niggle after that run on Regular Route in shoe A, but when I run that same route in shoe B, I have no issues. When I run Other Route in shoe A I'm fine. Oooh! I wonder if it's that hill and the pronation support?"

  • New Idea! Not related to posting, but:

I am looking for an option to add a person to my run when I start, and can track my whereabouts. It will allow me some comfort in knowing that someone knows my whereabouts when I am running alone or at night. An example of when I needed that was actually for my father who has some allergic reactions sometimes and when he is running it would be helpful if he could add myself or my mom in case something happens and she can have an idea of where he is and if he's okay (if the tracker shows him in the same place for awhile she might be able to try calling to check in).

  • Feature Request: Start weeks on Sunday

It is so basic to have the ability to change the week start to sundays yet after years it is still a missing (or very well hidden) feature on Strava (including the paid plans). In various parts of the word the first day of the week is considered to be sunday. It is not that difficult.

  • iOS and Android each have a "dark mode" or "dark theme" built-in, but the app builders choose whether to enable this feature.  I ask Strava to do so.  Strava's bright white background with dark text results in unnecessary battery drain on AMOLED displays, and it's not ideal for the user's vision in low-light conditions.  I do turn the brightness of my device all the way down in low-light conditions, but Strava's legibility at a glance on my MTB rides at dawn would improve if Strava made a dark theme.  A night mode where red or orange is the dominant color would be even better.

  • Hi !

Another suggestion for 'Fitness & Freshness' analysis and diagram

I want 'Fitness & Freshness' analysis to consider power calculation recorded on my Run activities with Stryd sensor. It will allow me to get a more reliable progress status since the heart rate and perceived effort is a bit weird over the seasons.

The reason that is important is because effort calculation based on heart rate is fluctuating with various parameters (temperature, fatigue, sensors precision...) and then current 'Fitness & Freshness' trend is completly wrong over the past 2 years, during which I have reduced my heart rate for an increased pace.

An example of when I needed that was when I adjusted my HR/pace threasholds which shown on 'Fitness & Freshness' curve a deacrease despite improved performance (based on chrono) for similar routes.

I can also see 'picks' of 'Fitness & Freshness' in winter, due to higher measures for heart rate, despite lower performance...

  • I would like there to be a feature where you can have “close friends”. This will allow to share workouts with either everyone that follows you or just close friends. This is important because when you are coming off an injury a run may not seem impressive to all your followers but to the ones that know about your injury it is.

  • Hi,

I noticed that the heatmaps are modified since yesterday. But now it's not very clear where you ran during your timeframe. I loved to check new roads and then see the map fill up. Everytime I was able to run a new road and go further then I was ever go before, it gave me a happy feeling!

Now with the new design, it is gone! I have now the walks and the runs combined. But I don't like that. I want a different filter for the run, walk & bycle. Now it's all mixed together.

Please bring it back. Also the color blue-red is not the same as before! It is not good visible.

This was the reason why I subscribed, because i loved the heatmaps!

    Kind regards.

  • Please add free text tags option to activity. So we can add multiple custom tags and later find/group analyze activities based on tag. For example find same races over years, add multiple gears to activity (even to non run/ride type) , group activities done with training group, etc . Possibilities are countless 😉

  • I have a rather large number of routes that I created for longer trips. It would be helpful to create a folder for each of my trips and move the routes I intend to ride on these trips in there. Would help to keep a better overview and have things organised. Thank you for your consideration.

  • Just came to Strava member/subscriber from Endomondo closing down as Strava seems like the best option ive found.

What I really miss though are some features. (Maybe repeating some from other...but hard to get an overview with no headers on the seggestins....)

    - Estimated best distances - fastest 1km, 5km, 10km, hour etc on each sport listed on the activity
Graphs of this over time, how has my best 10km SUP-ing developet over time for example
List of personal records with links to the session

    - Activities list...Add a date filter= important. Good would be other filters, like distance etc.
    - Localized date format option, ex YYYY-MM-DD

    - Some sport options, Skateboard, Hockey, Dancing, Orienteering. Some could be solved with "Tagging", like separate Classic Cross Country Skiing, from Skate Cross Country Skiing (Nordic Ski here)

I like your Segment thing but it does not work for SUP:ing or other "out of track" activities. Would be nice if you could adjust sensitivity on the track similarity to allow more deviations, or best would be if the option was just between certain "points" A-B (or more).

  • A PRIVATE PERSONAL DIARY / TRAINING LOG  TEXT BOX WITHIN ALL ACTIVITIES - that only you can see and not viewable by followers, So some protected data:

I think all athletes would welcome a private text box within their activities where they can log their own PRIVATE notes / training details / mental health log / personal log of details they don't want shared, but would be extremely useful to record on each activity.

I am sure people have things like their personal weight / medication / diet / training strategies they don't want shared with followers/public but would lover to track and trace over past performances.

I know I would benefit and surely some part of your activity you always want to record some private/personal reflections.

Come on Strava this should be easy - something private/personal, might help some athletes with their MENTAL HEALTH  as well as their PHYSICAL HEALTH with some protected data. Not everything on our Public activities has to be shared with our Followers.

A private section / personal log diary would be a great addition to each activity for our training/ health.

  • Hello,

More and more people are riding bike and e-bikes. Segments leaderboards are separated between bike and E-bike. It should be worth to have a feature to duplicate a bike segment to an E-bike segment (to avoid to recreate a new E-bike segment) and a feature to merge leaderboards between bike and E-bike.

    What do you think?

  • Will there ever be new sports on Strava? My friend and I are into long-boarding, we enjoy riding long distances and like to record our ride. We usually just put the sport as other, but it would be cool to see new sports on Strava, like long-boarding

  • I undersand that the monthly fitness chart does not reflect a user level of fitness itself, but rather, the volume of training and rest. It is clear that the two things correlate but only upto a point. In this sense, the name is quite misleading because it suggest something a bit different.

I would suggest to rename it to something more explicit.

I think that there are various good reason for renaming it. Firstly, my impression is that being let implicitly to increase volume for increasing the level of fitness is generally a bad thing as this is prone to increase the risk of injuy while now providing tangible effects. In fact, by just improving the quality of my tranining, I have been improving my pbs, while my fitness i.e. my volume - is reportedly decreasing. Also, I think that having a more explicit reference to volume, rather than fitness, would prevent detrimental effect like negative addition. Both this points would probably make easier to adopt a more balanced approach to training and, potentially, retain more users in the long run.

If a measure of fitness is desired, I belive that there are way of estimating it: not sure about the literature here but a measure of the time spend at a given pace wrt the pace distribution at a given HR + temperature and other enviromantal factors (incline, wind etc) would probably be a good candidate.

  • Please add an option to reverse the graph bars on the miles run.
I get messed up when I see that the long bars are for shorter times and the short bars are for longer times.

  • I want to compare mount and year activity times per activity type. It will allow me to do compare the total distance ran in a certain month with the total distance ran in another month. The reason that is important is because I would be able to see an increase or decrease in activity or month and I will be able to see the comparison of activity with the same month in the previous year. An example of when I needed that was when I wanted to see how many kilometers I ran in an entire month.

  • Alpine Ski on Galaxy Watch app

I would love to have the Alpine Ski activity on the Galaxy Watch app. Having to bring up the phone in the ski lift or slope is risky. If this activity could come to the watch, it would help a lot, and being able to see the number of runs etc. on it would just be great.

  • Your new heatmaps changes are partially good, but I really need to be able to set a specific time frame (start date and end date) to the heatmaps. I was relying on the heatmaps feature to do a project and now I can't do that anymore because the timeframes are year-based.

Please add more granular date controls to the new version of heatmaps!

  • Suggestion for the website and mobile app

Currently, users can change their language and the date and time format will be derived from the language. However, there are plenty many more countries in the world where people are happy to use English as user interface language but would like to see dates, times and numbers in the familiar local format. Usually, computer systems use the concept of a "locale" for this. For example, user interface can be in English but locale is Estonian. Such a "locale" setting could be added to the "Settings" page and then used throughout the app (web and mobile).

  • Filter Feed by activity type PLEASE

I want to deselect swift, walking, yoga blah blah non activities from my feed.

The more you add other activities the more the need for people to deselect them from their feed. You will need this feature at some point, please make it now.

  • Hi,

A feature that I think would enhance user enjoyment would be to enable filtering or sorting by sport of the "activities" feed, similarly to how you show data of the main 3 sports in the profile section. Since I have friends that participate in multiple sports, having to scroll and scroll to find their last run (or even my own) can be bothersome. Last week, I for one ran, biked indoors, cross country skied and did weight training twice. All the activities got sent to Strava. If I want to look take a peak at my girlfriend's last cross country ski I have to scroll through all her runs, bike rides and weight training to find it. It takes more effort than it needs to.

  • I want to be able to choose swimming as my primary activity on my profile, and also so swimming can be the default activity statistic when opening my profile. It is important to me that I am able to display the stats where I am most active

For example, if I select running as my primary activity then someone viewing my profile would see that my running stats are shown as the default. If I select cycling a my primary activity then my cycling stats are shown as the default. If I have been swimming and not running or cycling, then if someone looks at my profile, on first glance it appears as though I have not done anything.

When I consider following someone the first thing I do is see if they're active on Strava, and I do not want to have to search through running and cycling to see if someone is an active swimmer.

I understand that you cannot have every activity available as a primary activity and then also have all of the stats - well you could but it would be more complicated. However, I want to make a case for swimming to be included as primary activity:

    • If you want to create a Strava club there are four options: Running, cycling, triathlon and other. I don't understand the logic of leaving swimming out if you include triathlons. If you include triathlons in the clubs, and triathletes swim, cycle and run, then why exclude swimming?
    • If the three default statistics available on my profile are running, cycling and swimming then why not allow for swimming to be a primary activity?

It would also then make sense to include swimming as one of the club type options.

  • Hello,

Heatmap: would it be possible to add a new filter to the heatmap (https://www.strava.com/heatmap) where the user is able to select between Total / Leisure / Commuting?

I believe you have that filter in Metro so hopefully an easy implementation.

This addition would make the heatmap a lot more interesting

    Many thanks!

  • I'd like an option to tell you you distance based timings for each run (5k, 10k etc) rather than just if you get a top 3 time.

I'd also like to be able to view a timeline based off each distance similar to how it works for segments so you can see your timings over previous years and how you have progressed/improved - or not as the case may be. It would be good if these graphs would be only for the specific distance and not part of a greater distance run (ie i don't care about my 5k time as part of a half marathon) I only care about my 5k time when I run a 5k.

Currently if you want to look back on runs it involves scrolling forevermore through your feed and is not really workable.

I love the new stats section that gives your pb's, maybe linking the graphs into that would be a possibility.

  • I really like using the Strava App but I thinkg is lacks of two important things:

    - Live elevation gain: sometimes is very important to measure the elevation gain during the Activity. Not only getting the data after closing it. I made an Everesting Challenge using my phone as back up and not having this was a real pain in the ass.

-Also would be nice to have some offroad bike sports in the app, like Enduro.

I am using other devices and apps to measure this, but it would be nice if all were recorded in the same app.

  • New Activity Type Request - Canicross.

I've recently started running with my dog and hoping to get involved in Canicross. Canicross is the sport of cross country running with dogs, whilst being harnessed and attached together by a bungee lead.

I've only been on 1 run so far with the dog and have already smashed a load of PBs thanks to being pulled along! Is it possible to create a new activity type for this as it would be great to distinguish between Canicross and when I'm just running by myself.

  • Please bring back the old Heatmap features! This was one of my favorite Strava features - I loved being able to use the heatmap as I've been doing "run every single street" challenges during the pandemic. I liked being able to filter activities by a certain date range, and now that functionality is more limited. Also, why only include activities that are visible to followers or the public? I don't publicly post every single run on Strava, but would like to still be able to include those in my heatmap. It appears that walking and running are also now combined. Can we go back to the old heatmaps, with the better filtering options? Thank you!
