Privacy setting to Hide Activity Map from non-Followers
Lets be honest, Strava is a stalkers paradise.....
From any given leader board a non follower can click on your ride and view the entire route you followed (door to door).
Yes, you can put in privacy zones at your home / work etc but I don't find that enough or even very useful. It is quite easy to work out where the centre of someones privacy zone is after looking at a few of the persons rides.
I propose the best solutions is to only allow the complete 'MAP' of peoples rides to be available to their followers. That means for any entry in a leader board the route / path for that 'SEGMENT' only should be visible to all on the map. For example, someone you don't know (isn't following you) sees your entry on a leader board and decides to click on your ride. When they look at the map they should only see your route for that 'SEGMENT'! Not the entire ride door to door. All of the other ride data for the complete ride can stay as it is. The elevation profiles, HRM, Cadence, Speeds etc.
This solution allows people to investigate your leader board entry to make sure it is legit and it maintains peoples privacy.
It is a win win.
Please see the attached screenshot as an example.
- I followed the link for the owner of the KOM on the 7 Peaks - Baw Baw segment to this ride. I should only see that 'SEGMENT" on the map. It is not necessary to display the entire ride on the map.
