  • I think it's great. It's like adding a missing piece to the Strava Club puzzle. The new Posts tab seem to replace the Leaderboard tab, however. I think it would be ideal to retain the Leaderboard alongside the new Posts tab.

Please consider adding this functionality to the Million Foot Club (https://www.strava.com/clubs/millionfoot). We need a way to communicate with our members now that e-mails are no longer distributed when a new Discussion is added.

I promise not to abuse it. We like to congratulate each million-foot climber as they complete their annual challenge with a nice descriptive post along with pictures, so this is ideal for us. Any room for more clubs in the beta? If not, can you say when it will become widely available?

    Thanks, Elle, you rock.

  • Thanks Dynamic K, I'll see if I can get you into a beta round, but if not we hope the feature will be available to any club when the beta is over.

  • Regarding the Leaderboard feedback for these Beta Clubs, I'm curious to hear why new members of these Beta Clubs aren't showing within the leaderboards. Was this intentional, a data lag or a bug?

  • Perhaps a data lag? If you can provide an example of a new member who doesn't show in the Club Leaderboard, I'll investigate.

  • Bryan, the leaderboards only show the 100 club members who have the greatest distance for the week. So if someone joins a large club, and is ranked 101st or lower for the week in terms of total mileage, they will not show up on the leaderboard.

  • Thanks, Elle! Looks to be a data lag as the athletes I had as examples are now showing within Beta Club leaderboards. FWIW, the lag was about 6hours.

  • Thanks, Dynamic K. These new Club members would have been within the top 10 of the leaderboard. Appears to have been a data lag. Enjoy your weekends.

Elle, if/when your team expands this beta or are looking for additional Run Specialty Shops outside of the Bay Area we at Rogue Running (in Austin, TX) would love to help out. The updated Club functionality would enable us to provide training run updates each week; Saturday morning long run routes/maps, race info, blog posts from local elites, etc. Curious if there has been thought to enabling a list functionality within Clubs; e.g. Club owners/admins to segment their overall club into ad hoc lists and personalize content to these members (example being our 15+ coaches communicating uniquely to their specific training groups).
