Custom Lists for Athletes You Follow

In the activity feed, I can filter for my activity / all I follow / each of my clubs - not enough granularity if you follow lots of people

It would be very useful to be able to organize my own lists. For instance, I don't want to always see my out-of-province/state friends in my feed, and likewise, I don't want to see everyone in each of my clubs, but I do *really* want to have a custom lists of athletes who I train at the same level as / compete with / compete against (e.g. the hot-shot list) ; likewise, it would be nice to see my non-competitive friends in their own list (just so I can give them all kudos/encouragement; e.g. the buddy list).

  • Would love to see this feature - I've stopped adding people for this reason.

  • This really needs more likes ! Would love to add more pros but I can never see what my friends are up to.

  • Would be very helpful.

For instance, for me, I'd love to be able to group those I'm following into different groups (essentially "my clubs"), a group for a few pros, one for people I've met around the country on various rides, but don't ride with regularly, and at least one for locals with whom I ride regularly. These could work essentially like clubs, except that they are completely private to me: I create and name them, I can assign any one I'm following to any of  my private lists, and then track the group as I would any other club.

One reason this suggestion may not have more "likes" is that is hard to find -- "custom lists" wasn't the first set of search terms I entered. Took me about 15 minutes poking around before I stumbled upon it. Otherwise I would have added my own version of this suggestion.

  • I would love to have this feature. I have stopped adding people for this reason too. Shouldn't be that difficult to add this feature ;-)

Feature would greatly enhance the value I experience from Strava!

  • yup, i like following people but they are clogging my feed. People following 50+ who are liking my runs, who has time to sift trough all that?

  • Any updates on this? Even in more need now my feed has stopped working chronological. Just need to filter friends into micro groups to give support / follow training etc..

  • I agree. Strava could have 2 options on this:

    1) create an "inner ring" (see more/all activities) and "outer ring" (see fewer activities) of those one follows with customizable settings

    2) ability to customize settings for every single person one follows (ideally)

Areas that i would want to filtre in a customized manner are:

distance; elevation; trainer v outdoors; activity type; attainment of leaderboard cups/PR v not; location (i.e. Country activity takes place in); removal of challenges feeds; photos

So for example i would be interested if one of the athletes I closely follow does pretty much any activity, but i would be only interested in a more distant person's activity if they completed either >100km/>1500m elevation/attained a top 10 on the leaderboard/non-UK ride/uploaded photos
