  • Strava -  I work in the IT industry, our company takes pride in Mental Health awareness and supporting our colleagues.  During this pandemic we have a Club Leaderboard, however Walking is something that can not be currently added, you could add your walk as a run but its not a run.

I am struggling to understand why this "activity" can not be added or the leaderboard can be customised by the owner.  Another point is that some people are unable to Run and therefore chose to walk, so please have a rethink, how you could recode your website and app and drop a new release that would accommodate your paying customers requests.

beluga bob  thank you for coming up with a workaround, which I hope Strava takes note off, Sadly I am unable to use this due to it being NON standard software, if you know where I am coming from, however, thank you.

Stava - Look forward to your response, where your athletes' are treated inclusively whatever activity they choose to do.

    Thank you

  • Is there any way to see more of a club feed. The reason I joined a number of clubs is to get inspiration from others, to see routes that others are running in nearby mountains and to borrow ideas for the running routes.

Well, that is good in theory, but in practice a club feed seems to be capped at 85 entries. Unless I repeatedly check the club feed multiple times per day, there is no way for me to see, for example, what everyone was running in the morning of the same day. In general, I might be able to see may be 1-3 interesting activities, but the rest are usually mundane runs that people do in their neighborhoods.

Why can't I see more than 85 recent activities in a club feed? What is the point of having a club feed at all if it is, at best, a small random snapshot into the club members daily activities? Can Strava please make this more useful?

Ideally it would be great to have a filter, for example to see only races and long runs.

  • I'm using the club feature as a social motivation tool for work, and monthly and yearly leaderboards would be really great to award prizes in certain categories.

  • @Darren Almey - that's a shame, but I know what you mean.

Maybe you and your team could give it a go on your personal machines?

(Do people have PCs any more, or just smartphones?)

  • @Nicki de Wet - maybe I ought to look at making my chrome extension deal with monthly/yearly leaderboards.
    I'll have a look at it a.s a.p.

  • Darren Almey We've also had to put the walk as a run to get it on a leaderboard. The pace is a bit slower than the rest, but at least the person sees his contribution.

  • Soren, regards your comment; Hi Darren Almey and anyone else who has been holding out for news regarding Clubs and Walking:

We now support walking for Clubs! You can read more about this update here.

This doesn't seem to be correct, it appears you can have a walking club which is great, but so many people want the walking included with OTHER activities which is basically the same as triathlon and doesn't include walking, why is this ? It appears your still segregating walkers from the runners cyclists and swimmers, we want all options on one leaderboard in the club.

I really hope I'm wrong after waiting 9 month for this, over 80 million users and strava just don't seem to be delivering, must be to busy counting there money!

  • So, you've added walking - how about all of the other activities?
Did you not consider that people may form clubs around any of the other activities that are supported in other parts of the app?
Too little, too slowly - not going to get any KOMs (or even Kudos) for that

  • Soren, thank you for your update. However as outlined by other community members above, this is not the outcome we are looking for.

Please can someone revisit and look to add WALKING as an activity within any Club? Yes there is running, cycling, swimming but NO WALKING.

Sorry if I come across as shouting or a bent record, but you guys and girls are clever, if you can add running and cycling to a club leaderboard please add WALKING.

Lots of people are walking, so please give them the recognition and value what they are doing with their colleagues and fellow athletes within a leaderboard.

This seems an easy request but somehow you are either finding it hard to implement or you don’t want to do it. Either way please be honest with us all!

    Many thanks in advance.

  • My club is full of fake profiles, which are getting in the way of the real users, and also full of bots I suspect. Cmon Strava. These need to be identified and deleted from our club!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not happy, thats why I stopped my Subscription. I will reinstate IF YOU SORT THIS OUT.....

  • I saw Steve Greenock post about spammers.  I work as a community manager - spammer/bots are very hard to prevent and usually the best methods are to add in requirements for full members - some number of activities, a linked physical tracking device (garmin, fitbit, etc), verified email, invite only to group or a paid/premium account.   Curious what suggestions would work for the Strava community to give them some more actionable feedback for the clubs feature.   I think premium only accounts is too high of a hurdle.   I believe one of the groups I am in uses the invite only method to keep the group 'real' but I'm not sure.  Maybe a group 'password' feature to gain access the first time for clubs?   Soren

  • Our club has been established for a while, but when I search based on my local area the club doesn't appear in the list of clubs.  Why is this?  What can I change so that our club appears to other people who maybe don't know the club name?

  • The following can be added to Leaderboard:

    • How many days people ran ? Currently, people might record their runs seperately as warm-up, interval, cool-down etc. This makes "Runs" column as 3 and it is misleading. If we can see it as days, it could be helpful.
    • This Month and This Year sections could be added to better track our club members performance

  • My club is not updating on the leaderboard.  It did not record any new mileage from yesterday morning.  Would really love to see where everyone stands because it helps push me and make decisions about my own mileage.

  • It would be great to show activities of our clubs (selected before) on the dashboard.

Also, I want to allow members who are not administrators of the club to create events.

  • I would like to suggest adding group totals by activity to multisport Strava clubs. It would allow all members of a group to feel included in the community rather than ranked beneath or above other members. The reason this is important is that not everyone is physically able to top the leaderboard but everyone is deserving of community inclusion. For example, if my company had a Strava club, knowing that my 10 miles contributed to a total of 250 miles posted that week to the group would help me feel included and motivated to continue my fitness journey. This is especially important with organizations where there are a wide range of abilities.

Thank you for considering my idea!

  • I want a club that I can select any activity type that I want. It will allow me to get more people to walk, not running, cycling or what activity the choose. Having a club would get more people from the couch to their feet moving.

Then on the club page I want a filter function on the leaderboard as it will allow to filter club activities depending on if it is running, walking, or cycling and so on.

In the club I want to create an event, that the people in th club can connect to one of their activities, which also could become a secondary leader board.

    Thanks!

  • Please add a chat/instant message platform to Strava like the one on Instagram. It would be awesome to be able to use this to discuss rides, routes, previous activities, etc. I often find users on Strava I would like to contact to ride with, but there is no way for us to get each other’s phone number.

  • Hi I have an app function suggestion for your developers.

It would be great to have tool in Strava to help you find people who run / cycle similar pace, distance, location etc as you do in order to find a good exercise partner.

It would be great to have a “search for a partner” function where you can sort people who are keen to find an exercise partner by pace, distance, gender, location, sport etc (even typical time of day for training)

It would be great to also have a location specific space to post an “I’m running here at this time” for people near you to see and the search function could tell you how accurately you match with that person on average pace, distance, elevation etc. of your exercises.

You may even be working on this already. Thanks for all you do! Let us know if this is something we could see in the future!

  • When two or more people take part in an activity at the same time/place, this is shown as a group activity.
The activity shows an icon relating to the activities, but the individual activities don't - unfortunately, when the activities are of different types (bike/e-bike/run, for example) the result isn't entirely accurate.
I know that each activity can be inspected, to find the correct activity type, but it would be much better to show icons against the individual activities and forgo the group activity icon, unless all of the activities are of the same type.

  • Dear Strava developer

I feel the clubs functionality has a lot of untapped potential.

    • Have a tag (like workout, commute, ...) for club rides. Automatically add this tag to club events that you registered for. With this tag, you could see how many of your km's this month/year were with your club.
    • Enable a club routes collection. Right now, the available routes for club events is limited to the routes collection of the individual creating the event. A shared collection of routes where all admins can select from would be a great addition.
    • Make it easier to go to your (main) club. A link on the main page would be great. Explore > Clubs > Club name is quite cumbersome when you're a club admin.
    • Have a historic list of club rides as club admin. When planning a new club ride, it'd be nice to see what we rode the last (few) times. Now, I need to go to club member's profile page to find these rides.

  • The whole point of a Club is to gather and motivate. Clubs should be able to create a daily, weekly or monthly Challenge for members. Events don't have the functionality to allow us to push each other to something like a monthly distance goal. So the workaround is manual tracking. <insert thumbs down emoji>

    Please fix this. Crispin, Soren

    Thanks!
