  • NEW POST IDEA: Gear tracking, retroactive/historical data. We have the ability to specify a date for data entry (specifically when I added a component). But we do not have the option to specify a date when a component was installed. It'd be helpful, and seems like an easy fix, to add the same specify date - calendar - feature that is already in the Gear Add Component function - just add it to the Gear Retire function.

For me - my gear is directly related to my overall Training Log - I have found it is sometimes important to consider when Preventative maintenance should be done in relation to Training Event planning or Race day.

  • It would be great when using a Strava training plan that the app could track this. For example if doing a fartlek run you can set the intervals in seconds/minutes or even metres and then when out with your phone or watch it would actually track based on this and call out cues so you know when to increase your speed or slow down.

It would be much easier then having to check your phone/watch every minute or two and seeing if you’re close to the time to change your running pace.

  • FEATURE REQUEST - Functionality to filter by virtual and real rides

Like many people, I ride both virtually indoors (bike trainer) and in real life. It would be very helpful to be able to filter your activities to just real outdoor rides.

There is functionality to filter for 'indoor rides' and 'virtual rides'. But there is no way to filter for real outdoor rides.

There is a filter for 'rides' but it shows real and virtual rides.

Please can you add a filter to the activities page for 'outdoor rides'

  • Can we please be able to crop/trim the duration of a non-GPS activity? I use my garmin watch linked to Strava, and sometimes I forget to press stop on my watch. I'm able to crop it to the actual workout time on my garmin connect app, but can't do the same on the Strava app.

  • Hello, it would be nice if we could zoom in on the fitness & freshness curves. I currently have almost 10 years of recordings (1984 rides) and it is very difficult to compare an earlier period to the current one. But it is the main interest of this curve to compare your current state of fitness to a past state of fitness where you knew you were in a good shape. As the points of the rides are very close to each other it is almost impossible with the mouse to select a precise date, maybe using the keyboard keys to move  from point to point could be a useful solution.

  • Please add elevation adjustment. I have a home at sea leaves and one at 10,000 ft and would like to compare running at high altitude.

  • Would it be hard to add a "Download CSV" button next to the big "My Activities" table (https://www.strava.com/athlete/training)?  It would let us load our stats into our favourite spreadsheet and do whatever kind of analysis of the data that we feel interested in.

  • *Fitness and Freshness*

Hi, I've been using Strava for almost 5 years now, and really enjoyed being able to compare relative effort between months/years..  roughly 4 months ago the algorithm was adjusted and subsequent efforts have been significantly lower.  The problem is historical activities have not been adjusted accordingly.  So there is no way to compare past efforts prior to the algorithm change.  Will there be a solution to this?

  • Hi @Thomas G. I've gone ahead and created a support ticket for you, there's no algorithm associated with the Fitness & Freshness feature and it sounds like you may have something else going on (perhaps custom heart rate zones?). We're happy to investigate and sort this out for you.

  • I would like to count my skiing activities for my winter season.  Achieving 100 plus ski days is a big deal in the ski world and an accomplishment people strive for.  Skiing activities for me are alpine skiing, snowboarding, back country skiing, Nordic skiing… all different activity types. As a workaround each year now I download the archive of my whole account at 1GB just so I can get an excel file of all my activities and do a pivot table to count up my total ski activities for the ski season which runs October through May, so I have to do some manipulations to create a ski season time period instead of calendar year.

More generally just better analytics on all my activity log / training log.

  • For mountain biking it would be great to get a break down of time spent riding on a bike on the road, on fire trails and on single track. This would be very useful as fork and rear shock service intervals are done on hours of use (on single track) and it gets hard to estimate this when decent chunks of time are spent riding on fire roads (usually fairly smooth and ridden with suspension locked out, particularly on ascents) or on the road. I can't think of any easy way of doing this myself and software connected with a map like Strava could do this quite easily.

Maybe Fox or SRAM would get on board to help get this developed?

Also, just getting hours ridden instead of km for each bike would be of use as a starting point.

  • Could you please give careful consideration to publishing heart rate variability information and evolution, somewhere in Strava?  I understand it is a very useful indicator and not all watches or platforms provide that information.  Thanks.

  • I agree with Sarah Quick from March 24th 2021, I'd really like to be able to have some basic differentiation on "ride" type. other platforms (MapMyride) have plenty of options. At a minimum I would like to see:

    Road biking
    Mountain Biking
    Trail or Gravel Biking

  • Simple feature request:

Add "special event" or something similar as activity type to the menu. It is currently impossible to properly categorize non-competitive events -- like brevets -- because they are not a race.

  • Hi, I have  recommendations regarding the screen display during ride.

    1) Some additional info is really missing from the screen during ride:

    - avarage speed

    - elevation data (altitude, total ascent/descent)

    -cadence (actual/average)

It would also be nice to be able to set what info I would like to see during each type of activity.

    2) Screen icons are really small, please make them bigger. It is difficult to touch them during ride because of road vibrations. During winter, wearing long gloves with capacitive finger, it is hardly possible to hit the right icons. I mean the 3D, actual position, layer icons on low right of the screen, and hide and settings icons on top of the page.

    3) Map scale should be included on map view page, so that we could estimate distances. This scale should adapt to different zoom ratios. (Same way as it is on right bottom of Google Maps)

    4) + and - icons for zooming. Currently I have to use 2 fingers for zooming. In winteertime, with gloves, it is not possible

  • I have some recommendations regarding diverse options

    1) swimming distance - watches usually measure distance wrongly, especially when swimmers do not swim 'regular style', I mean drills, kicks, fins, etc. It would be nice to be able to correct manually the measured distance for swimming, and not having to calculate the distance not-measured and manually add a new swim workout in order to get the right distance  in reports.

    2) workouts time: strava imports elapsed time from Polar. This means, that if I pause a workout, the time period paused is added to the time spent with training, so duration is incorrect. Either strava should import actual measured time from Polar, or you should make possible to manually change time for non-gps workouts.

    3) I would like to have the option to correct distance in strava app.

    4) weekly intensity - suggested range should not be 2 horizontal parallel lines, because in the first half of the week it makes users frustrated because they are under the line, and it makes them lazy in the second half of the week, once they reach range. Instead, it would be more logical to draw 2 linearly increasing lines, see picture attached.

    Thanks for considering these

  • I found the swim.com app by far the most reliable way of recording lap swims on the watch, it was way better than apple or strava. It can't do open water however.

  • It would be great to be able to change your default activity to any of the types available when editing - would save having to edit every upload. I no longer run or ride, but would love to make my (almost) daily activity upload to a specific type (crossfit or workout)

  • Feature Request: Add HIGH INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING to the exercise list (Similar to what's done in F45).  More to life than just running and cycling and crossfit isn't what we want either.

  • It would be very helpful to allow bulk modifications to be made to activities.  For example, Strava now has a "Mountain Bike" activity - bulk edit would allow users to select and update past activiites to better reflect what they are (and would help Strava as you are now trying to suggest mountain bike routing).  This would also be helpful to correct forgotten modifications on equipment type, commute tagging, virtual rides on trainers, etc.  It's tedious to make these changes ride-by-ride for many activities.

  • Hi,

I would love to keep track of my paragliding flights with strava! Please add Paraglide/Paramotor activities you will have a lot of new users!

Paragliding activities should log gps coordinates with barometric and gps altitude plus some other statistics like sink and average lift variometer values, you can get some ideas if have a look at xctrack and the online logbook xcontest to have an idea of the data to record and display on activities.

    Thanks,

    Martino.

  • Feature Request: Please can the Best Efforts Power Curve have a checkbox/dropdown to allow filtering between indoor rides only/outdoor rides only/show both? At the moment both are always shown, but I think indoor and outdoor/real world power is probably different - activities already have indoor/virtual tags applied so filtering should be possible with the information already available :)

  • POWER CURVE

The power curve feature seems pretty neat but it's pretty much useless because it's mixing running and cycling power in one graph.

Please give us the option to display different power curves for different activity types!

With the Apple Watch receiving running power and Garmin also making it more accessable, the issue will become more apparent for more users.

  • As a cyclist, I have two data recording devices associated with my Strava profile:
    - my wristwatch, because it tracks GPS,distance and heart rate
    - my bike computer, because it tracks GPS (poorly), distance (via wheel rotations), cadence, elevation, temperature, slope, etc.

Unfortunately, these data streams are not merged on Strava's side, and my devices make it appear that two riders when on every ride.  See screenshot below.  This has several impacts:

    • all my rides appear as a "Group Activity"
    • Each of my devices gets its own Personal Records
    • I am potentially getting double credit for miles ridden, when it comes to challenges, etc.

It should be possible to merge the data streams based on overlapping time intervals, GPS proximity, etc.  When there are duplicate streams (i.e. GPS), perhaps you could let me choose which one I prefer to use.

Merging the streams BEFORE showing results on the website would result in greater accuracy for me, and customer trust and a more positive image for you.
