How to format your new idea and/or feedback:

Feedback that is actionable and constructive is most effective. When sharing, please consider the following when framing your thoughts:

  • If you have a new idea, it's helpful for us to understand why that feature is important for you and the value it will bring. For example: I want __. It will allow me to do ___. The reason that is important is because of ___. An example of when I needed that was ___.
  • Specific examples and details that illustrate the problem/confusion you are experiencing. For example: When I do ___, then ___ happens and that is not ok because ___.
  • Screenshots that help visually illustrate the problem. For example: Here is a picture illustrating my point ___ from above. See how ___ is doing ___?
  • An explanation of why this is important. For example: This is important to me because ___.
  • If you propose a solution, an explanation of how that solution would help you and why that is important. For example: I think a ___ would be great because then I could see ___. This is important to me because I have to ___.

If someone has already suggested the same idea as you, you can help us quantify the demand for the feature or improvement by upvoting the original comment. To upvote, click the up arrow on the right-hand side of the comment.

  • Hi mates. I already have almost 200 saved routes so it's becoming difficult to find a route based on its characteristics like name, distance, elevation, etc.... Are you planning to include search features for saved routes in order to make easier to find them?. Thanks

  • missing features:

    1. filter Dashboard by activity type. like I wanna see only rides. but hide run or swim. many people I follow ride and run. also filter by distance.

    2. add 'Start date' parameter for personal heatmap. so heatmap created for interval like last 3 months;

    3. for global heatmap would be great to select users. making heatmap from my followers tracks also useful

  • Full support for line breaks in comments

Currently, when using line breaks in a comment, they are only shown in the mobile app, not in the web app (browser). I think it would be nice if line breaks would be fully supported, i.e., writing and displaying in the web app and the mobile app, because line breaks enable the users to write nicer comments.

The following two screenshots show the discrepancy in the current implementation.

  • Marcu H, they could also list e-bike above MTB so they see it. I have always felt listing at the bottom is a big part of the problem.

Please give an option to not be advised of every single challenge joined by every single person I follow. This is among the most annoying things on Strava.

  • Sérgio Saquetim - I see what you are saying, but it isn't quite that simple unless you propose starting the new bike-specific leaderboards from scratch.  If you maintain an overall "ride" leaderboard and then just add leaderboards for each specific discipline, then it would help preserve the history, but only to a point.  Say for example, I have a KOM from 8 years ago where I didn't specify a bike type or maybe made a mistake and didn't update to the correct bike type from the default.  If this change was made, I would have to know to go back to that specific activity to edit the bike type so that it gets its proper credit under that bike type for the KOM, otherwise it would just show up for the overall "ride" leaderboard but be left off of the specific discipline.  Now consider those people who maybe are in 8th or 9th overall currently on the overall "ride" leaderboard but riding a bike different than everyone ahead of them.  That would mean that their time would now be the KOM for whatever bike they used, but only if they knew to have it labeled correctly.  Again, I think your idea helps, but only to a point.  There would still be a huge amount of error in the data sets both from the past and going forward since a large percentage of riders do not specify what type of bike they are using at all or just don't remember to change from whatever bike they have set as their default.

  • I'd like to acknowledge and congratulate Strava for making Live Tracking available to all users, for their safety. Subscribers AND free users. An excellent gesture to the whole community.

  • Please allow flagging of individual segments for bad GPS data instead of an entire activity. Removing an entire activity from the leaderboards is not fair if only one segment is inaccurate.

  • I’d like to request that bicycle chains as a subset of added gear (i.e. a bike) be allowed to send notifications like shoes do. The chain is a bike part that wears and can lead to severe damage of the rest of the drivetrain if not monitored.

  • the is only one monthly walking "September challenge for a set distance of 50km

can you introduce more monthly challenges for distances or have a variation of distance within the monthly walking challenge I.e

    Bronze 25 Miles
    Silver 50 Miles
    Gold 75 Miles
    Platiminum 100 Miles
    Diamond 125 Miles

As a dog Walker I normally complete the monthly challenge in around 7-8 days

Also walking challenges required...there are loads for cylists , runners etc

    Thank you

  • I would love to have the ability to see my statistics for my walks on the statistics tab. This would allow me to see the number of walks I've done, the distance I've walked, and the time I've spent walking over the last year or longer. Based on what I've seen (on my following page), walking is one of the most popular activities on the app, which is why I think it should be added to the statistics tab. This is important to me because walking is my second most common activity on the app and for walking, I'd love to receive all of the same information that I get for biking.

  • How about adding an "overview" page (or section) for your bikes? For example, a page that summarizes your statistics on each bike, e.g., number of rides, average speed, average max mph, average HR, etc. That would be pretty cool!! I know Strava does something like this when it summarizes the year so I know they can do it - just a matter whether they want to! Something like this but an aggregate bike level:

Along with the updates I've been suggesting to the MY ACTIVITIES page for over the last five years, e.g., having the ability to sort also by average speed, max speed, HR, etc. - something like this where you can select the available attributes you'd like to view:

  • Feature request for biking, specifically DH or bike park riding.  I don't ever want to record my movements when I'm riding a lift up the mountain.  It would be great to have the option to ignore the long uphill movement by toggling on DH mode or something similar.  Without this, I almost always forget to start/stop at the top and bottom of the hill so I miss segments or record the shuttle uphill and that skews my numbers.

  • Hello,

I've been looking through "My Activities" listing ... everything with date, time, distance, vertical meters and relative effort...

I'ld like to see other or optional measures of ordering like average velocity, max velocity, average wattage, average vertical meters/ kilometer and maybe filters for my activities... by year, distance slider (e.g. between 30 and 50 km), time slider (e.g. 1 - 2h) used bike... maybe marking different years with different colours

This would allow us to find e.g. our fastest ~1hour-ride. Since not everybody has powermeters and many do untracked sport, this would allow for a rough estimation of our fitness and makes finding the hardcore-rides or races faster.

    Greetings!

  • Since it's getting winter in the northern hemisphere, the indoor training is back. I use ROUVY at the moment and like the fact that I can ride real roads virtually. Is it possible to create a heat map layer for virtual training?

  • I have posted there a few times about this and you guys close it and say it's SOLVED....well then why arent track bikes in the gear section?

Seriously? This is a REALLY basic change here...just add track bikes to the list. You have gravel bikes? which are cross bikes? but us velodrome racers have to use road bikes?

This is something that should have been in there before...

So, what gives? whats the big problem here? Yeah, I am nagging, because it is such a dumb and easy change...you have accommodated tri people, swimmers and runners and all sorts of other stuff but you cant add a new bike type?

Explain why this isnt happening....BEFORE you tuck this away in the solved section....unless you mean solved as in "we arent going to do it."

I mean really, out of all the overly ambitious suggestions in here this has got to be the most basic...what you dont like track racers? sheesh....

  • I would like the ability to select, “workout,” or, “long run,” when I complete a virtual run on zwift connected through to strava. Currently I can select only, “commute,” which is ridiculous because how are you going to commute with a virtual run? Also should be able to select, “race,” for virtual runs. I normally use strava mobile on iOS to edit activities after they are automatically connected to strava through garmin or zwift. This is important because I often use the training log to find memorable workouts that I want to repeat or compare. They are tough to find without the cross-hatching used to mark properly designated workouts. The current option is illogical and seems like it must have been a mistake.

  • I think it would be a good idea to add a filter option in the users profile and other places to differentiate between indoor and outdoor cycling activities in the annual and monthly totals, including clubs weekly statistics.

  • Kenny Leduc - Regarding elevation goals, there is a way to do that.  It is a little buried, so not the best thing, but it is there if you want it.  It is only accessible and viewable on the mobile app.  Click on the "You" button on the bottom right of the screen, then click on the "Progress" tab on the top.  You should see a "Goals" section.  Click on "See All Your Goals" in the bottom of that window.  From there, you can click on the "+" sign in the top right and set a goal for climbing.  It seems to only let you have a total of 6 goals set at a time, but at least it is better than just the distance goals available through the desktop program.

  • "Bulk Export" have all your photos, but no other information about them.

There is no information about the activity they are linked to, photo timestamp, etc.

Currently, Bulk Export outputs a directory with thousands of photos, with random filename, with no metadata and no relation with activities. That makes these photos kind of useless... no way to search or discover dates/times, no way to discover which activities they are related to.

I propose adding a CSV file with the following fields: Activity ID, Photo filename, Photo timestamp, Photo sort order inside activity, Photo highlight (boolean), Photo GPS coordinates

  • Hello,

I would like to have an option to filter on/off the feed based on whether I gave kudos on a workout or not. For example if I check "Kudos feed"(or whatever it will be named) to show only activities I haven't given kudos to(so not yet seen).

Another suggestion is please make activity search to not be "match whole word" so to be able to search activities using just a chunk of the word, for example searching for "test" to return the results both for "test" and "testing", "testings" etc.

    Thank you!

  • Hi, I am a diver, need "Diving" as an option.

It's important to me because I love my sport, and I think it would be great to connect with other divers, because they would then be differentiated from other swimers (I am currently registered as a swiming). I can not upload any diving activity from my diver commputer (for now it is Garmin) , so I can not be able to get whole picture of my trenings and places.

I think it would make it easier for other divers to discover new places to go, which is always the goal!

I really like Strava nonetheless, and I realise this is a nice request.

    Thank you!

  • Is Strava supposed to be a fitness tracking app or just a triathlon sport (run, bike, swim) app? I'm assuming the former since it lists many other activities such as hike, walk, weights etc.

One of the most basic expectations would be that the user can see their monthly, or at least annual totals for each activity. I can't believe that is a very difficult function to add. it doesn't make any sense to me to even offer any other activity beyond run/ bike/swim without doing that

  • Hello Strava,
It would be a helpful feature If I could add a comment to my weeks. I could not hit my weekly training target because I felt sick. (a simple comment next to each week would be beneficial, so I can see why)

    Thanks,

    Dom

  • I know others have posted on this as well, but I think it would be a LOT of fun if we could post VERY short video clips as part of our uploads. Like max 5 seconds. If the uploader could also just randomly pick the segment of the video if I try to upload a 2 minute video that would be awesome (eliminating editing).

    Thanks,

    Ian

  • I would like to see the nickname of the shoe in the filters in My Activities.

The absence of a nickname in this list is very inconvenient for the user. It is difficult for the user to distinguish in this case two identical shoes.

I hope the development team will add a nickname to this list in the future. This is not a difficult task, because there is a nickname in other lists with shoes.
In this list, it seems to me that developers just forgot to add a nickname.

I have two Asics Gel-Excite 8. One is black, the other is lime. Nickname is Lime.

In the screenshots you can find 3 places where there is a list of shoes. There is a nickname in all these lists.

1 - Choosing shoes when adding new activity

2 - List of shoes on the athlete's page

    3 - My Gear

Only in one place did the developers forget to add a nickname - this is a filter on the My Activities page.
    1) At the top of the page in the Training menu, select the My Activities item.
    2) The page opens https://www.strava.com/athlete/training
    3) In the Sport filter, select Run
    4) 2 new filters (Run Type and Shoes) appear
    5) The Shoes filter in the selectbox has a list of all your shoes. Nickname is not displayed in this list.
That is, if you have 2 identical shoe models, then you cannot distinguish them without a nickname.

I contacted Support, but they said that this was not a bug and advised me to write to the forum.

  • Feature request: hide all photos that Peloton automatically uploads.

Why? The fitness instructor in the Peloton photo is neither anybody I know nor is it the person I am following on Strava.

I'm sure the people at Peloton enjoy fleecing Strava for free advertising. If y'all at Strava don't have some deal with them, better rectify that!

Don't get me wrong: I'm very happy that my friends are staying active -- whether indoors or outdoors. But the photos of these random fitness instructors who I will never meet are starting to inundate my Strava feed, which I expect to be pictures of maps (in the case of an outdoor activity), a friend conducting some activity, something a friend sees when conducting an activity, etc. What I explicitly am not expecting is shameless advertising from a public company in the form of a random fitness instructor in a studio with studio lighting having their photo taken by expensive photo equipment.

  • Suggested feature/s:

The ability to create workouts with different paces. A user should be a be to create and save different paces e.g. Endurance run pace: 8 min / mile. A user should then be able to create a workout and select from the different saved paces for the workout and/or steps in the workout.
