Provide options to filter your Dashboard - for example:

  • Filter out commutes
  • Filter out rides less than X miles
  • Filter out Virtual Rides/Zwift
  • Sort by number of Kudos, ascending
  • Sort by number of Comments
  • Filter for Grouped activities
  • Filter by Activity Type
  • Sort by notable achievements (KOMs/QOMs/CRs/PRs)
  • Choose a default Feed view: My Activities, Clubs, etc.
  • Other?

  • BTW, you can use AdBlock Plus to filter some of this in your browser.  For example, to (currently) remove challenges from my feed I use the rule: strava.com##.challenge.feed-entry

  • Yes please. I am tired of my feed being full of Zwift, I would love to be able to filter out trainer rides and Zwift.

  • Do this...

  • So it has been years since this was requested. Does anybody know if it is ever going to happen? It would be really nice to sort runs by distance, time, or really any other metric than start time. There is a discussion on reddit right now about how ultra runners have their runs drop to the bottom of everyone's feed because their runs are so long.

  • Would like to filter out the commutes and short rides from the feed.

  • This is a another good idea. However this along with the previous equipment usage request are being ignored by Strava? Are they still developing Strava as I see no evidence of this. I don't think I'll renew premium unless things change.

  • +1 for Filters based on Commutes and anything less than either x miles or y minutes.

I've had to unfollow a few friends for filling up my Dashboard with 3km rides to & from the pool and work.

  • Definitely allow hidden rides to count for mileage.  I'd use that.

Also I'd love to be able to filter out other people's rides less than N km - that would cover the commutes and tiny "Strava everything" rides.

  • And now we need to add to the list: the option to sort BY THE F*CKING DATE OF THE ACTIVITY since Strava ignored all of the feedback on their new feed and is forcing it on everyone now. Oh, and allow me to filter out Challenge notifications. I hate the beginning of the month now, real stuff is completely buried with everyone joining every bloody challenge.

Strava is now officially too big and is taking the same crappy road Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram have taken, tweaking things based on analyses of user's behavior (which they badly misinterpret), and/or prioritizing monetization over user experience. It's really disappointing.

  • It says this feature is planned, any time line as to when you plan to implement it? Also how long has it been planned for, as this thread is 5 years old?

  • Agree, filtering seems lika an obvious feature. Why this is not implemented yet since it was suggested back in 2012 is beyond my imagination. Whould greatly improve the user experience!

  • "Social media" sites can only maximize the value of your eyeballs when they are controlling what you see. Therefore they'll never give you the ability to fine-tune things in your feed. You are the product, not the customer. I don't like it either.

  • Yes please. Get zwift out of my feed along with commutes and runs not interested in them only want to see legit rides that are worthy of kudos. The original comment is near 6 years old this should be priority would really improve the user experience

  • Just a FYI: there's another feed too, exclusively about getting Zwift activities out of our feeds and stopping Zwift miles as counting as real miles: https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/208859697-Settings-to-hide-Zwift-trainer-rides-in-feed

  • Let us sort OUT zwift/trainer stationary rides.  I use Strava to see the adventures people do, 1 mile or 100 miles I don't care I will check it all out; but seeing their basement riding data inside their own home I would like to remove from my feed.

  • I'd go premium if such a filter existed.

  • So...it's been six years since this original idea was presented, and it seems to have a lot of support.

Children go from single cell zygotes to rudimentary computer programming within such a timeframe.

    What up, Strava??

  • Hi Rob. For preventing your own commutes being visible to others, (as opposed to other people's commutes being visible to you) I think you have the option to make  your actiities private on an individual basis. From memory, you may have to do this on your computr rather than mobile app. I'm not near my pc to double check just now, but it's worth a look

  • @Rob Ratcliff (and others): The most important option in the Strava app to prevent annoying others is to set the default visibility to "private". You can then cherry-pick and make public only the rides that are worth it: Strava App > Settings > Privacy Controls > Private by Default.

  • I wouldn't hold your breath for Strava to provide filtering - best to just do it on your end. I use uBlock Origin and add rules to get rid of the suggested athletes, zwift rides, etc.

Example filter (uses uBo ":has()", but looks like adblock plus has similar capabilities) to get rid of virtual activities - zwift in this case which has a icon-virtualride for the activity:

      strava.com##div.activity:has(span[class*="virtual"])

Hides any "activity" div elements that contain a span element with a class including the word "virtual" (I went generic in case there was virtualrun or other virtual activities). The same process could probably be used for commutes and other types of filtering but I haven't had one in my feed in ages to see how those are tagged.

  • Mojo, that's amazing... thank you! Unfortunately that solution is beyond the capabilities of most folks, but it's a pretty cool option to have.

  • The Firefox helper doesn't really seem to do much, but make it easy to give everybody a Kudo with one click.  The Chrome helper on the other hand has some filters and allows me to sort my feed chronologically.  That is the one feature I really have been trying to find most.  Now I don't have to scroll through yesterdays rides to see what happened today.  That combined with the extra data provided by Stravistix make a great improvement to Strava.  Thank you!

  • Here's a novel idea for how to sort the feed.

Apparently one day follows the next day and days last week come before days this week.  Interestingly if you did a run in the morning there is some mechanism which means that this should come before your nighttime run.  I don't know, I've heard that this "thing" is called "time", but it sounds like mumbo-jumbo to me...

...anyway, my awesome idea for sorting the feed is that it should be arranged by the zodiac sign of the poster, this would be much more useful that the current random order....

  • +1, select ONLY commutes for my stream by default.

Also, you could become much more of a social hub if club posts showed up on my dashboard. It's ridiculous that I have to select clubs one-by-one to view posts.
