Add Profile Stat for All Time Elevation Gain

May I find somewhere the information about all-time elevation gain? Everything, what I can find on my profile page, is summary of elevation gain since 1st January (or a graph of monthly/weekly elevation gain values). If it is not possible to get such information in the current implementation, it would be very nice and helpful feature (from my point of view). And I would say that it can be very easy for developers - just one simple select-sum statement .... based on e.g. weekly/monthly elevation gain values :-)

  • Seems like a rather easy calculation to do.. be nice to see elevation for past years too, not just the current one.

  • 2 plus years in the making. Strava does not listen to its users.
    Our comments and requests are going on deaf ears.
    This particular option would be so easy to implement yet it has not been done. I stopped upgrading to premium because I don't feel that I should spend my money with a company that does not listen to its customers.
    I don't mean to be the grumpy, critical internet comment guy but it's frustrating and I know I'm not the only one.

  • Krisztian - you definitely aren't the only one. You are sadly correct - Strava doesn't give a damn about us, Premium or otherwise. They're too busy having web design interns learn CSS on the profile page. Eventually someone will come along and thank us again for our suggestion, and then it will get ignored for more years. Just like many of the other easy to implement  ideas that have a ton of votes.

  • The stat is already available in the API, just needs to be pulled through on the profile page.

    http://strava.github.io/api/v3/athlete/#stats returns athlete stats, including this:

      "all_ride_totals": {
        "count": 375,
        "distance": 15760015,
        "moving_time": 2155741,
        "elapsed_time": 2684286,
        "elevation_gain": 189238
      },

    Relatively easy to do, put together an app to display it in half a morning.

  • Update: I've written an extension for Firefox / Chrome that will get this value from the API via a custom web app and inject into your profile page.

    1. Either go to https://strava-profile.herokuapp.com and "Log in with Strava" - authorize the app and you can see your all-time elevation gain.

    2. If you want to get this automatically on your Profile page, you can install Greasemonkey (Firefox) or Tampermonkey (Chrome) and the install the script to grab it from the strava-profile app and automatically add it to your profile page if you prefer.

    The Strava API unfortunately doesn't support getting all-time elevation gain of athletes you follow, so there is no way to get the comparison of this - only yourAll-Time Elev. Gain...
