List My Top 10s or "Almost KOMs"

On the KOM page, could you also put a section that would list my "Top 10s"? (or Top 5s) This would be a list of the segments that you've almost made a KOM (but didn't and are still in the top 5 or 10). Some of us are old and we ride where lots of people ride. We get some top 10s, but not a lot of KOMs. Do you feel me?

  • Yet another wasted +1 from me. I’d love to be a part of the development strategy meetings to hear some of the discussions.

  • Hi Strava! I'll gladly come over and implement this for you. It seems like you might have fired all your programmers to reap in the cash instead. Just tell me what language you'd like the code in. It can't be more than 200-300 lines of code at the most.

  • +1

Please make this happen. It would substantially improve my Strava experience.

I am sure a version of the necessary code is already in one of your developer's sandbox.

  • Hard to believe this isn't already a feature.

  • Yes, old topic, easy to implement feature and tons of people requesting it. Strava dev team either doesn't read suggestions, are underfunded or less intelligent...

  • I don't know why I even have voted this feature up - I suppose because I really want it as do so many others. It's one of two features I think would make Strava so much more social, but with Strava's recent attitude towards Relive and to other feature requests which have been around for so many years, it's clear they don't care about their users and would rather ride this monopoly they have with their hub for social fitness tracking. I personally hope another big company puts their hat in the ring with a load of money and forces Strava to start listening to users by producing viable competition. They have all the information on this support site about what users want, it'd be nice if someone at Strava paid some attention.

  • Welcome to the "strava ignores its users' crew! I recommend veloviewer. Its what strava should be but the developer (Ben, working alone) provides a brilliant product at a very modest fee.

  • Wow.  SIX PAGES of people asking for this since 2014!!  What's up, Strava?  Should we organize a bake sale to fund development?

  • Yes, PLEASE ADD IT!!!!  For use old guys, Top 10 is like having a KOM! But honestly, I would really like to see my top 10s so I could focus on those segments to possible determine which ones I might be able to get a KOM on. It would be great to add it to the all the new training stuff that you have been adding recently. What a assassinate to train harder and have real goals to reach for!

  • Can't believe this thread was started over 5 years ago with no resolution!  Pretty simple request.  You have all the data and you already show the top 10.  If you can identify KOMs you can identify Top 10's.  C'mon Strava!

  • I believe Strava does monitor this thread. I posted a solution a few days back linking to a web app I created that shows your top 10 ranks, only to wake up the next morning with the comment deleted and no email notification or message saying it was moderated. I'm going to try this again.

Here's my app that tracks top 10 KOM performances: You will be required to authenticate with Strava:

  • I've given up on Strava implementing this and a few other features and now I go to https://veloviewer.com which has a way of doing this, and many many other features. If I continue to be happy there, and Strava keeps ignoring customer requests, I'll stop paying Strava for Premium, go with Strava Free, and give VeloViewer my money. At least they have implemented this feature!

Strava could at least update us and tell us "yes/no because [...]/eventually/it's under consideration" etc. but they just go Radio Silence. Not cool to treat your paying customers like that.

  • Andrew C. Thanks for the link.  Just subscribed to VeloViewer.  While not the most graphically appealing or intuitive it provides some great insights that go well beyond just the top 10s!

Great idea. But when I click the Authenticate button it gives me an error.

If you get this working you will be one of the most loved people on Strava!

    Cheers!

  • Hi Leo,

I posted the updated link yesterday and it isn't showing up. I moved my web app to a different domain name: kom-tracker.byronrjones.com

  • Haven't been to Byron's site but the $12.35 it cost for a Veloviewer account is definitely worth it.  The amount of data and analysis you get is WAY beyond what I was expecting.  Really great insights into your Strava data.  You don't just get Top 10's but basically they have every segment you have ever ridden or run and you can see your top 10, 20, 50, 100, etc. What's really cool is that they assign a score to your ranking.  For instance if you are listed as the 5th fastest on a segment with 2,000 riders you have a higher score for that segment than if you have the exact same 5th pace ranking with only 1,000 riders which would be higher than only 200 riders, etc. etc.

  • same here - Veloviewer all the way. If Strava does not implement this itself one has to help himself and look to other solutions

  • We are now on the 6 (six!!!) years after the first request and still nothing.

I'm not renewing my premium this year if this doesn't get sorted, can echo above about Veloviewer being much better.

  • You folks are wasting your time with Strava on this.  No one from Strava has responded in YEARS so you know where it falls on the priority list, i.e. ain't gonna happen.  As was suggested by another user check out Veloviewer:

    https://veloviewer.com/

It syncs with Strava and analyzes all your data.  For $12 you get all your tops 10's and waaaaaay more.  (I think they do a one-time analysis for free but I'm not 100% sure).  While I was initially interested in just finding out my Top 10 data I now spend all my time looking at the other stats that are actually much more insightful.

  • Apparently they misunderstood. When we said we wanted more features, apparently they thought we said we wanted fewer features. It's pretty shitty to try to get more paid members by crippling your free option, instead of doing so by adding even more better features to your paid option.

  • John, if you really that upset, I am sure if you call customer service they would be happy to give you your money back.... Seriously, how do you expect them to cover the costs of development for new features? How about being happy you got the full experience for as long as you did without paying a dime.
