Upload Training Plans and future workouts to Strava

It'd be great if we could upload a training plan and have the log check off our planned activities, send us alerts of what today's run/bike will be, or shame us if we skip a day.

  • Yes, this thread has been ongoing for TWO YEARS.  There needs to be a response from Strava.  This is not an unreasonable request.  Having this option just MAKES SENSE.

  • That feature would totally justify upgrading to Premium.

    +1!

  • I love the App, and I recently signed up for a Premium 30-day trial. I would definitely renew my membership if this feature would be included. To me, Nike+ Run especially or Runkeeper nail it in this area, and that's why I will keep using them and will come back to Strava free.

    - Running plans accesible in the phone app. Like in the website, when signing up for a plan, option to select number of workouts per week and start date / race day.

    - Once your plan is loaded, being able to edit your plan by rescheduling workouts on a different week day.

    - More detailed workouts, i.e. instead of 'Include a few miles at Long Run Pace then progress to 2-4 miles at Goal Pace', 'Run 12km/miles, 9 at xx average pace and 3 at yy pace'. Many people are not familiar with running technicalities.

    - Speed workouts: instead of i.e. 'Run 2-3 x 2 miles at Tempo Interval Pace', 'Run 3 x 2 miles at and average pace of 4'50'. I think defining the goal clearly helps with the extra of motivation.

    - Instructions in Km/Miles depending on the unit of measurement selected.

  • Wasted money buying Strava Premium - only to find this very basic feature doesn't exist. Very disappointed. Will not renew Premium at the end of my term unless this feature is added. Without it the app is useless for me.

  • When do we expect this feature to be released to production?

  • Also wehn I sync my activities from garmin connect with the rest segments get all combined to next mile not showing exact pace per segment for the training activity so expecting that segments are synched and activities reflect pace by segments - thanks

  • Please allow to customize the training plan! I do interval training with a group once a week. I would like it to be included in the training plan and the rest of it to be suggested. In other words, allow to chose when to have a long run and when to have a fartlek...

OTHERWISE THE PREMIUM FEATURE IS NOT WORTH IT!!

  • Great news, that you guys picked up on this thread and are currently working on it. I hope it comes soon, this is such a crucial feature! I would love to see an easy comparison between planned workouts and actual workouts. E.g. how I did during the actual run tempo-, time-, distance wise compared to my planned run.

  • It's been two years since this function has been requested.  It's available on most other platforms that are serious about training.  Finally, on October 22nd, 2016 we have official acknowledgement that this is in the works.  What's taking so long?  Just implement a calendar function.

  • I have to agree on this one! Would be a big improvement to this already great app/website. Can you give us an update on this Elle Anderson?

  • I see Training [beta] in my strava app. I'm not able to plan anything, but I do see my history in a calendar.  So they might finally have it available.

  • Most likely won't be ready until halfway through the year Eirik and Bart. Thanks for hanging in there.

  • Any update from Strava on launch date for this? It is tagged as planned.

My Premium membership is up for renewal soon (have been premium for 4 years) and having just shelled out for a years worth of Training Peaks for this feature I'm basically tempted to ditch Strava Premium

  • I am currently able to create a single planned event for tomorrow, but if I try to create a second one for 2 days from now, it will only display the first one I created. At least it's a start. Looking forward to the full feature.

  • Would love the ability to upload a running plan and have Strava coach/talk to me during the run -- "speed up!" "too fast!" "Your are ahead of your pace...."

  • Strava is truly a fantastic tool, and this feature is the only thing that appears glaringly missing.  I would upgrade to premium if I could create or upload my own training plan and then have Strava measure me against that plan.  Glad to see this has some attention and I look forward to using the feature (hopefully) soon!

  • Echoing what has been said before - would love this feature and when it's available I will be able to release other platforms/tools that I run in parallel. An update to the progress would be appreciated, or even better, a release?

  • Thinking of leaving premium for Training Peaks if this isn't going to be available soon.  Any ETA?

  • This thread has been going for about THREE YEARS and this feature is still not available.  The last update from a Strava rep was eight months ago.  Social media features have rolled out in Strava, in which I have little interest, and this VERY PRACTICAL and IMPORTANT feature is being grossly neglected.  Strava, please concentrate on being an effective TRAINING application.  That's what us premium members are paying for, not a social media app.

  • I first commented on this thread on November 05, 2014. I have watched the comments roll in for the last 2.5 years and seen no action on Strava's part.

As a consumer, I think premium accounts have been de-prioritised as a revenue stream for Strava. At least that's how it seems. This feature is a no-brainer and would actually add huge value to the platform. As would the ability to hide people's commutes!

  • Strava is merely focused in social media tool, for those that we are looking for something more training oriented I suggest give a try to Today's Plan much friendly than Training Peaks.

  • Okay, I'm out. I have just canceled my subscription. If strava thinks we are not worth it to reply to, they are not worth my money.

  • Training peaks is where I've moved. With a coupon code it's not much ch different annually. Check it out.

  • Second on this. I just cancelled my premium as well after three years. I signed up originally just to support them. But I am disappointed after three years of no much going on. I really hope strava is here to stay.
