Panic Alert feature for Strava app
I was recently riding my bike around some countryside footpaths and I came off my bike. I had no idea where I was and was unable to carry on riding my bike, but thanks to your app I was able to locate myself and call for help, as Strava was tracking my route. It made me wonder what would happen if I lost consciousness though. There was no one around, and I was near no main roads. I could have been lying there for hours and no one would know where I was or what had happened.
My idea is a panic alert/notification. When the app records that you haven't moved location (via GPS tracking) for over 10 minutes it should first send a notification to the users phone, and if that is not responded to then perhaps a relative or close friend. This should send them their exact location and then they can arrange help to be sent to the user, in case they have fallen off their bike and are unconscious somewhere.
I think this could be a great asset to this already wonderful app and could really help someone when they're in need; it could even save someone's life.
