Mileage by Bike per Year

I would like to see a feature that allows you to see how many miles you have put on each of your bikes in a given calendar year. For example: How many milse did I put on my Road Bike in 2014?  How many miles did I put on my Cyclocross Bike in 2014?  How many miles did I put on my Single Speed in 2014?  You get the idea.

  • This would be nice to see.  I can see the TOTAL mileage, but that's a combined total since starting on Strava.

  • Thanks Dan and Ken for the feedback! Seems like it would be easy to do.

  • Exactly what i also want to see by using filters or similar. After all i have registered more than one bike, but i can only see the grand total since they where registered on Strava.

  • I'd also like to be able to get my previous year(s) distance, time and elevation totals. Currently I think only the current year data is available. I'd rather not have to manually add 2013 data manually in order to compare with the current year.

  • Has this feature been added to Strava? I ride both road and mountain bikes. Would love to know how many miles per year on each.

  • Yes...this would be great.  The workaround that I use now is to create a new name for my bikes every year...like "Venge 2014", "Venge 2015", etc...it works, but it's a hack.

  • It would be a great additional my gear function and I think not so difficult to implement.

  • Bumping this request. I'd really like to have this summary information available. Even if it was a Premium-only extra for now, I wouldn't mind.

I use the "gear" feature to track wear parts on my bikes, so creating a new bike every year to track annual totals per bike is simply a pain.

Along with mileage, I'd like to see other summary numbers like number of rides per bike, hours per bike, and so on.

I'd also like to see some way to tag rides by type. Mountain, road, track, cyclocross, etc.

  • I can't believe this DOESN'T exist!!!

  • I would like this feature as well.

Currently I use Strava to track my activities on 3 longboards and 2 inline skate models. I also have 4 bikes that I don't want to mix into my skate sports because I can't separate them without creating several different Strava accounts.

I can put 300+ miles on my skates each month weather permitting. 25-50 miles in one morning is not unheard of for me.

  • Agree - would like this feature also.

And how about a feature that allows me to designate when a chain or a tire or a fork went on a bike, and then track how many miles and/or hours on that part.

  • The year 2016 is nearly over now and the feature has not been added. May the force be with you, Strava - you guys still have nearly 5 days to pull it off before the year ends and the problem repeats itself for every bike owner out there!

  • Yes, it's actually quite unbelievable that this kind of feature is still missing. Can't understand why this wouldn't be extremely easy to implement.

  • Somewhat of a hack, but much better than a new bike each year: "add component" to your bike, and set the date added to Jan 1 of last year. Retire that component, then add a new component of the same type, starting Jan 1 of this year. It automatically sets the retired date for the old one not to overlap with the installed date of the new one. I can look at how many miles I have on my "handlebar of the year" to see how many miles I rode that bike last year only. I use components to track miles on items that wear, so pick one you aren't already tracking.
Note that you need to do these in chronological order to make things simpler. It won't let you add two of the same component at the same time.

  • Another bump.  I now have two bikes, and would really love to have per-bike mileage numbers for each year.  The data are there in Strava, so this shouldn't be difficult.  Even an "export to csv" would be nice.

  • Looks like there is an export function.  Waiting for the email to arrive to see how it works.

  • This would be great, because I try to ride a certain amount per bike and the life to date mileage isn't ideal; right now I have to create a spreadsheet at the start of each season to do the math.

I have 13 bikes and zero cars. :)

  • The active participation of Strava's team in this conversation indicates that the solving of this issue is a matter of days, if not hours. The year is still unknown, though, cause this topic has been going on for 4 years now ;)

Until then i suggest to continue using the simplest hack of adding new gear - simply creating new bike profiles for this year and retiring your previous bikes. That way you'll be able to keep track of the total mileage per bike (by manually summing up the mileage of different years) as well as get a live track of this year's distances.

Thank you Strava, for putting our patience to the test with this, we needed that!

  • As I use Garmin devices I track totals for gear I use in 'Connect' but would be really  useful having it in here.

  • Strava support, where are you? 4 years people have been asking for a simple feature addition. Where is it? Where is your response? What the heck are you doing? Is all your money going on flash advertising?

  • You could add a component to your bike, with a start date of Jan 1 and end date of Dec 31.   It will show how many miles for that stretch.    You cloud give it a brand of 2018 so you know the year.

Not exactly what you are looking for, but it will at least give you the data.

I really like to be able components.   RIght now I know I have 174 miles on my new chain and tires on my mtn bike.

  • Echoing this point.  I'd love to see a summary of miles by year (or month) per piece of gear.  All the data is already there, just build the report.

  • Came here looking for exactly this. How many miles did I put on my street bike last year. Should be easy to do. At least give us a way to export all of our data so that we can try to do it ourselves.

  • I just wanted to see how my mileage has changed year to year. The training log has this info week to week. I was hoping that I could just collapse those weeks into months and months into years to get the info I wanted. Five years and counting (that this issue has been open, and probably since I've been a Strava member too).

  • The add component suggestion is a pretty easy hack to get the yearly miles on different bikes.

Should be easier, and hopefully Wahoo will deal with this, but at least there is a solution.

  • It is inactivity like this which is why I will not be renewing my subscription next year.  This should be an easy thing to add.
