Customizable Audio Announcements for Run

The every half-mile audio announcements aren't frequent enough to help me control my speed. I would suggest one of two enhancements:

1. Add the option for pace announcements every 0.1 miles

2. Ideally, allow the user to input a target pace range then provide two different auditory cues if they break out of the top or bottom portion of that range. If they are going too slow and need to speed up, introduce a high frequency high pitch beeping sound. If they are going to fast and need to slow down, make it a slower frequency lower pitch sound.

  • I would also very much like to get an audio announcement every X minutes, instead of every X miles.

  • I currently use another app to track my current pace but would love to see the ability to customize audio cues added to the app, with options to set when they happen "every 0.x miles / every n minutes" and what is presented (current/average/total distance/pace) and I love the idea of being able to set a pace range and have beeps if I stray outside the range.

  • I have just recently changed over from MapMyRun and like the app and the web site.
However I miss the ability to customize the audio cues to include average speed or heat rate. Also would like the pave to be calculated over the period between announcements, rather than the last km.
For the moment I'm using Strava in conjunction with the Wahoo App - just for the audio.

  • Audio cues should have more options that .5 and 1 mile.  At least every quarter mile.   I switched over from MapMyRun and was disappointed in the lack of this feature.

  • I switched over from Cardio Trainer and I miss the cues every 0.1 mile.

  • Okay, I have the free version on my Droid Turbo and I can not get voice cues on my strava app to work? Is this only a premium feature? Thx!

  • The time based announcements are the most helpful for me. Cyclemeter / runmeter is very customisable

  • In my case it depends if I am doing a long run or a short run, the frequency I need. I think that to the best way to solve this problem for all users is to be able to select every X km and/or every Y minutes, and one should be able to select what the announcement will be (km/h, min/km, distance, avg and current pace, heart rate....). As Steve also suggested below, a beep announcing when you are off a pre-defined pace range would be great!

  • This. This. This.

I'm missing this feature so much I'm about to cash out for a gps-watch to cover it for me. This would make Strava a big deal more usefull for high intensity interval traning, and other comparable activities.

I'll also second adding "beeps" as an alternative to voice feedback.

  • Not sure if anyone else has run into this issue but the audio cues are not in-sync with actually distances that it is cued. Explanation if I log 1 mile and the cue begins to read my time and split, the distance logged is only 0.9 miles. If I were to stop the app for the run it would not show as 1 mile logged. I hope this will be resolved in a new version release.

  • It always shows on the display at .9 when the audio cue says 1 mile.  I has for the last couple of years I've used Strava, and I've reported it a couple times.

  • when running an audio cue every .5 or 1 km is not enough.

we need to be able to change/add to minutes with km/h, min/km, distance, avg and current pace, heart rate....

please please please add this feature on your next build.

    thanks in advance.

  • Seems like this would be a simple feature to implement. I would use it for every race! Right now I have a timer beep every 30 minutes as a reminder to eat/hydrate... would be great to be able to do that in app.

  • Absolutely - I'd like to set an 'aspirational pace' at the beginning - I want to break 50mins on a 10k, so setting 8minute miles pace and be alerted if I drop below that pace. Perhaps something on the Apple watch to show how far I'm off the pace or ahead of it ?

  • Please include this. All other major running apps have a 0.1 or 0.25 mile announcement as options. 0.5 miles is not frequent enough.

  • Yeah, I switched from Endomondo because everyone at my running club uses Strava, and considering the premium costs 3* what I was paying for Endomondo it is amazing the number of features that Endomondo had five years ago that Strava doesn't have now!
