On "Stationary Trainer" workouts, show moving time, not elapsed time

The time shown for workouts tagged as Stationary Trainer is elapsed time. I would prefer ride or moving time. I can see the problem for manually entered workouts, but if there's speed data (from a sensor), just don't count time where speed = 0.

UPDATE: Just wanted to clarify that Strava should honor the actual ride time, that is, the period when the cyclo-computer is timing. I use a Garmin 500 and I always press Stop to take a bio-break, grab some food or whatever, then press Start when I'm done. That time should not be included in elapsed time, but it is. Strava should honor the actual time being recorded on the cyclo-computer.

  • Yes this change would be great, especially for indoor velodrome activities

  • I noticed that anyone who has logged a ride using Zwift, it shows up as moving time.  There should be no difference between Zwift and riding a trainer.

  • The reason that moving time is displayed for Zwift activities is because the files contain GPS data (manufactured GPS data created by the Zwift program). Strava currently computes moving time by GPS data and we don't have an algorithm to use cadence or power for example.

Thanks for the post, and we'll be sure to consider adding more options for time to our stationary trainer activities.
