  • We do have a small bug that is in progress with Internet Explorer. When viewing photos on the website with this browser, the photos will be stretched. Should be fixed soon!

  • Re Explorer bug ... you could just recommend to people that they upgrade to Chrome or Firefox ;}

  • Yep that is the issue I also reported. (din't create a supportcase yet)

I also noticed the EXIF geotag is being used now for uploaded pictures, thanks for the improvement :)

  • +1 I also can't see the feature anymore. I used to but in the last 2 weeks the features seems to have disappeared from my Strava. I use the Android app and the App version is 4.4.2

  • @Nic, Presently strava does not have a desktop upload system. You do not need to take your phone with you on the run. But to upload photos at present you will have to transfer the photos to your phone and then use the app to upload the photos. This is currently the only option.

We all know its very backwards and hope strava fixes this soon.

  • It would be very nice to be able to upload photos directly from a computer . . . Rather than having to transfer files back and forth through a mobile device - This just does not make any sense! Thanks for your efforts to allow computer-based photo uploads as soon as possible!

  • I use a Garmin device to my activities, therefore I don't have any Strava apps on my phone, I would like to be able to upload photos of my activities directly from the website. I hope you work on it, it would rock!

  • I found a glitch in the iphone app where I edit my ride activity and add ride photos while remote with no cellular signal.  When I get back to town and get signal again, the activity syncs but not the pics.  Had to go back later and re-add the photos.

  • I use Windows Phone.  If you had  a Strava app for my device I would use it to upload photos, but unfortunately you don't have a Strava app for Windows Phone--so therefore please enable photo uploads via the website.  I know from a technical point of view this could be done with about 15 minutes of programming, so clearly this is related to some sort of financial handcuffs placed by Apple/Google.  I urge you to reconsider these financial relationships, because the smartphone world is not going to be Apple/Google forever, and the cycling/running community will not remain committed to Strava if you don't adapt to the changing world of your users.  That said, I do appreciate what you have done for the cycling/running communities, and look forward to many more years with Strava.

  • Nice addition.  Like many others,  it would be great if we could manually upload photos to an activity through the website itself.  Many runners use watches rather than phones !!

    Keep up the good work!

When I click on the photo on my dashboard page I only see 7 pictures.
When I go to the activity page I see 12 pictues.
But on the strava android app I see 20 pictures.

I have uploaded the pictures 14 hours ago, any hints ?

  • Answer from strava support about the missing photo issue :

Thank you for contacting Strava. Sorry for the confusion. At this time, only
12 photos are shown on Strava.com, while the app will display all of them.
We hope to update this in a future release.

  • Great to see another option beside Instagram for the smartphone app users, but I'd still really like to see an option for Garmin/stand-alone GPS users that carry a regular camera to be able to upload photos through the website along with an option to use the EXIF time metadata for when it was taken to place a marker thumbnail on the activity path (and for GPS-enabled cameras that record the position in EXIF data, use that instead).

Even better would be a photo editing page for each activity where you could manually upload or link to pictures, offer a slider tool to move the location where each picture was taken, add/associate a location for uploaded pictures that don't have EXIF data, comment boxes for each picture and send/share link buttons.

  • I upload rides using Cyclers for Windows Phone and then normally add photos at home using the Android app on Nexus 7, except about two weeks ago the ability to upload photos has disappeared. I'm fairly sure I've got the most up to date app - is there a tickbox somewhere I've missed?

  • I really like the photo sharing capability, but I hope that it is enhanced in a future version of Strava for Android.  Currently, when I add multiple photos in Strava, and share the Activity on Facebook at the same time, the mobile version of the facebook app shows the last photo linked to the activity (not all of them in an album/grouped post) and the desktop view on facebook does not show any of the photos.  As a Strava user, I would like to be able to have all of the photos that I linked to the Strava Activity be included in the facebook post on both the mobile and desktop versions of Facebook.

Additionally, the Name of the Activity is not included in the data sent to Facebook.  Only the Description attribute is used.  I would like to see the Name of the Activity used as the Facebook Status message followed by a linefeed, and the Strava Description included on the subsequent line of the Facebook Status message.

  • Even though I haven't been using Instagram, I did have an account.  So I linked my Instagram and Strava accounts a few days ago so I could upload photos taken during my rides.  Saturday, everything worked great!  Sunday, not a single photo was matched to my ride.  And since you have that silly "45 minute" rule...I'm guessing there is no way to fix my missing photos after the fact, correct?

Since you have the accounts linked, there really should be a way to re-sync the activities.

  • Hi,

I don't see the add photo icon in my strava add. I use andriod and have version 4.4.2 of the app. When I go to edit, I don't see the add photo. Thoughts?!

  • I was using the Android app to upload pics but lost this functionality. Strava Support suggested to uninstall/reinstall the app and it worked for me.

I am in the same situation as are many of my riding group. Shame it's not possible ....  I am guessing they want to restrict the number of photos on the site as it's not that hard to do.

  • I do not have a smart phone.  I do have a camera however.  So if I understand correctly, there is no way for me to upload pics directly from my computer?  If so, what a shame.

  • Hej, I've noticed some attached photos show up as activity 'headers' instead of standard maps in iPhone mobile app. But then again, some don't. Is there a procedure how to achieve that, it looks cool. Thanks!
