Sync with iFit

Is there any plan or activity towards a sync between iFit (treadmill and cycling) workouts and Strava?  I've noticed Peleton workout posts that communcate workouts done on that platform.  Wondering if something similar was in the works for iFit.

I am looking forward syncing running activities from the Altra IQ App directly or via iFit to Strava.

  • Hi,

I have asked this question before regarding the synchronisation of iFIT workouts direct into STRAVA. Having searched again, a year later, I find that there is still no such service although I spotted that there are many more services available including Peleton!

Is the onus on STRAVA to include iFIT or is it the responsibility of iFIT?

  • Strava seems very open to all kind of devices and platforms. I have to imagine the problem is iFit's. This is also consistent with how generally backwards the iFit platform is.

  • This really sucks, I would be extremely open to getting NordicTrac equipment if iFit synced to Strava seamlessly.

  • I second this discussion. We bought a treadmill and I wasn't planning to integrate it into my training plans. A bit short sighted since I live in Canada - and training for the Boston Marathon in Winter is always challenging....

  • Hi all there is an easy way to do this , I recently brought a Pro-Form Tour de France bike and after buying the ifit subscription I can now plan routes on google maps and ride other routes too that are ‘rude of the day etc’
Ok so to do this I took lots of google searching and time but I believe I’ve now sorted it as my last 3 test rides are successfully uploaded , the only thing it doesn’t do (annoyingly) is show the sections where Strava breaks down the ride for pb’s or koms etc.
So you need to do your ride and then log into your ifit account click on workouts click on the ride you’ve just done click on export , click on clx file (in think it’s that one then your computer will store this go into Strava click top right add manual activity click on virtual ride and the browse button load it up from there and it’ll come onto your Strava

  • Ifit is missing out on a big opportunity to market themselves on Strava. I see a lot of Peleton rides on my feed.

  • Hi Chip
I posted here the other month re uploading,
    It’s very easy to do
    So here goes
Do your ride run on your iFit machine press finish ,then go onto your home computer log in click on workout history and your ride run will be there , click on export (clx tab) , then , log into Strava and click the + button and select upload then the file button will appear click that and your ride will be in that click that and it’ll upload it , it’s a bit long winded but it defo’ works as all my rides are there to see
    Hope this helps ?
    Cheers

  • Paul, it's easy but it uploads as a generic morning ride. No map or name to file. Check out Peleton and Zwift and how they look. Much cooler view.

  • Hi Cody
It shouldn’t do?, you need to change the ride to virtual ride in the drop down and it should upload the map and miles here’s my latest ride I did

  • It doesn’t do that for instructor rides, guessing that’s one you mapped out?

  • Hi I haven’t done an instructor ride tbh , my rides are either drawn out on goggle maps or that one I showed you was downloaded from iFit direct as one of there best mountain rides
Also I do a HIIT session off YouTube and just upload that too !

  • Anyone have an example of how a treadmill run comes into ifit/Strava?  Does Pace / HR / Elevation data all get saved in iFit and transfer decent to Strava?   Can you get it into Garmin?

Looking for a decent option for saving treadmill runs that capture the workout better, (currently use inaccurate pace from watch and heart rate data... then enter the elevation gain later and edit distance).  Would be awesome to have ACTUAL live PACE / INCLINE / HR all from the treadmill!   So when I do tempo hill intervals or hill surges etc... it all shows up!

  • Nick, The only way currently is to download the .TCX file form iFit and then upload to strava. Unfortunately all you get is speed and heart rate, not GPS or elevation date :/

  • Hi Paul,

thanks for your explanation. I have done it but whatever I do can not see the GPS map of my ride on Strava.

    do you have any suggestions?

    thanks

  • Unfortunately, there is no GPS map associated with the .GPX files from instructor-led rides. This is ironic since the console draws the map before the workout. I believe Google maps workouts do have a GPS map associated with the .GPX file. I believe this explains why some people get maps from exported iFit workouts displayed on Strava and others don't.

  • Hi Hormoz
Ok I’m a few months in and I pride myself on my rides , spin classes etc
Ok so I do 3 types on my Pro Form Tour de France bike
1 is a spin class through Youtube , GCN 45 minutes unders and overs I play this on my I pad and set ‘workout’ on my pro form then after the session go onto ifit select workout and download it as a tcx file then go onto Strava and click manual activity , click on files then upload it
2 is through ifit like their video rides or Tour de France videos but whilst they register them they don’t show the maps I’ve just riden it elevation gaincetc they do have a normal real time video , but it would be awesome if they showed the map and elevation etc ?????
3 is where I plan and draw a map through ifit them download it to my bike , I’ve done a few of these recently (cv19 ) and they are really good but the only problem is the maps freeze whilst riding , very frustrating as whilst it kicks up or down the screen says loading maps , something again that ifit need to sort ASAP otherwise I’m not renewing.
All in all it’s a great idea but they need to sort the bugs out as the idea is great but the final outcome is a bit shite 😁

  • iFit is missing the boat.  Peleton integrates nicely with Garmin devices and uploads to Strava.  My NordicTrack S22i Studio won't even integrate with my Garmin Fenix watch (i.e., no integration outside of iFit).  It would be a fairly easy upgrade for iFit to automatically upload to our Strava accounts.  They capture all of workouts from our machines daily.  It doesn't make sense that they are so clueless about getting this integration done while their competition has clearly done this.

  • Yup, I would buy the S22I, if I were to upload to Strava. You listening Nordic Track?

  • TKO - as I am sure you've read.  There is a work-around:   Export your rides from the S22i (select by date range if desired), then upload/import the exported files (*.tcx) to Strava or Garmin Connect.  You then have to edit the files to include any additional information you want (e.g., the name of the ride if outside the studio).  It's a total 'Rube Goldberg' approach but it does work.  iFit NOTE:  it should not be this difficult to integrate data.  TKO - Buy the machine, the features otherwise do outweigh what Peleton offers.

  • I just purchased the iFit Rower.  I do hope I can upload workouts to Strava.  Fit did provide these instructions to do so

  • In this day and age and especially for premium kit the answer shouldn't be go to a PC, export out of iFit and import into Strava.  I get there are a million different apps and services out there in the market today but not to offer any integration into fitbit or strava which I would argue would likely cover 90% of users between them seems really strange and disappointing.

With the CV19 I am seeing lots of my friends drop their virtual run/ride into strava (complete including GPS, incline etc).  If I had know this I wouldn't have bought the nordictrac.  Unless its sorted I won't pay for the ifit subscription.
