Strava app has issues connecting to the internet

I have had no previous issues with Strava and two days ago recorded an activity which would then not upload due to data sync issues. I tried to export the activity via email which would also not successfully send. I managed to send the activity via whatsapp and manually upload it via the desktop site, but my app is continuing to have issues. My phone (Galaxy S9) is up to date, and I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app to no avail. In fact this has made the situation worse as when re-opening the app it will not even let me log in, with the message 'internet connection failed'. There is no issue with my internet on either WiFi or 4G. 

Any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated.

  • Having the same issue. Now can't even log in to app. Get notification that activity has uploaded, but then when in app nothing displays and I get a connectivity error message. Have switched between WiFi and 4G as well, same result.
