How about Goals for more than just distance?

What about a suffer score goal? Or a total vertical climb goal (that is actually what I need, as I'm training for some enduro mountaineering, so I want to set a goal of total vert climbed in a week. But other types of goals would be cool, too. Like I mentioned, number of minutes in a certain suffer score range, or number of calories burned.

  • Agree with Jaime, ability to set more granular goals would be nice, like the example here http://www.motate.org/athletes/scottdeleeuw/goals

  • I think Hoka put a challenge that it was about how much positive climb can you do in a month.

  • It's great when different people post a challenge, but I'm training for some specific events, and climbing is an essential part of my weekly regime. The number of kilometers I ride really doesn't matter that much, what does is how much I climb. Strava has said in several releases that cycling is all about climbs. We have categories for climbs, and we have tools that either find climbs or avoid them on the Route Builder tool. Why can't we track our weekly vert? Set goals for weekly vert? I wish Hoka would post another challenge for positive climbing right now, so that it would be easier to track. Maybe I'll ask them. They may be more responsive than Strava. Hurumph.

  • As for goals, one should also have the possibility to manually enter distance for stationary workouts, as the Goals - as opposed to Challenges - are more of private interest and not to compare with others (please correct me if that's not the original intention). I loose track of my distance goals during wintertime because of this lack.

  • yes please to climbing goals agree they are essential and in signing up for strava premium I was disappointed to see that the goals that could be set were quite limited and left the one other main one I wanted to do climbing - out

    please, please add it in, how hard can it be?

  • i'd like to see goals based on effort/HR - i.e. 250w for 20min at 150BPM.
    seems as though the only way the current parameters work cater to threshold efforts.
