Race Result data entry suggestion

I ran the La Jolla Half and when I tried to enter my race results into Strava, I brain farted and navigated away from the results entry page to get my actual chip time from the race page.  The act of navigating away from the race results page, caused my device data to be used, which was off a bit.  My suggestion is that the race results need to be actively confirmed with a click.  Simply navigating away from a page should not cause anything to be committed; image Amazon's business model if it started shipping products just because you hit the back button.

This was my first experience with Race Results, but it certainly was not a good first experience since there is also no method to go and update/correct the race results.

Still loving Strava though.

  • Just wanted to jump in and agree with the others. I went to check my official chip time to enter on strava but they weren't posted yet so I hit the back button and got stuck with my watch time. It's not terribly different and it's a minor annoyance but there should definitely be some sort of "confirm" option for these scenarios.

  • If your watch time is longer than your official time, try cropping it a little (assuming the distance is also a little over). I just did so and was allowed to re-identify my run with the race and enter the correct result.

  • I feel the same way.

The official race results were not published when Strava prompted me to enter them. So I couldn't and I either navigated away from the page with the prompt, or I closed the browser entirely, not sure. I did NOT enter/confirm a time.

Yet, now it is uneditable (and it needs editing).

  • have exactly the same issue and disappointed I can't edit a race time as it is considerably different to my official race chip time.
