GPS option "Allow all the time" missing for location.

The GPS option "Allow all the time" is missing for location. only two options are available:

"Allow while using the app"

and

"Deny"

This is causing my phone not track my workouts when the screen is off.

I have a OnePlus 6 with android 10. OxygenOS version OP6_O2_BETA_35

  • I have the same problem with my new phone (Huawei P30 lite / Android10). Did first choose the option "allow while using the app" but when I paused there will be a straight line in the map. I will chose "Allow all the time" but can't choose it. So sad !!!

Today I sent a request. to Strava. Hope they will fix it.

  • I have the same issue.

If this issue isn't resolved quickly, I'll have to look out for another fitness tracking app.

  • GPS tracking in strava on android 10 is a joke. Worked fine until phone updated 2 weeks ago, absolutely shocking ever since.

It's almost like strava are trying to drive their customers away...

  • Same here in huawei mate 10 pro updated to android 10today.

Lots of other apps have the allow all the time option available so appears its an app coding problem to me.

  • Same here with my S10. Strange is that Strava is the ONLY app in my list of apps with this option missing! It began yesterday.

  • Same for me! Huawei P20 Android 10 - no option to allow GPS access all the time. Submitted a support request but haven't had any help so far.

  • I had this problem with a Huawei honor 8x. I had to turn the battery power saver off to get Strava to record fine when the phone is locked, although in the app settings I still only see the "Use location when app is in use" setting

  • Hi Everyone.
I'm having the same problem on a Huawei P30 with the April 2020 android update for android 10.

Previously, I had no issues what so ever.

Since the update, the allow all the time option is no longer available on the strava app.

If I turn the screen off, strava stops recording.

If turn power saving mode on Strava doesn't record at all where as before... It would record in power saving mode turned on and with the screen turned off.

At the moment, if I do manage to get strava to record it only produces straight lines between starting and finishing point.

  • I'm in the same boat, been paying for Summit over the past couple of years, and am not adverse to new payment structure, however this is only fair if the app works!!!

Need to get this resolved ASAP as it's as good as useless at the moment.

  • Same here. Just upgraded from z pixel XL to a 3aXL. My GPS tracks are way off and I miss half the segments on my regular ride. Andriod 10 seems to only allow while strava is in use.

  • I have a Xiaomi Note 8 Pro and I have straight lines on most rides. It is frustrating. I was considering becoming a paying customer, but I do not think it's worth it. I ride with a partner and I go faster on some segments then my time is like 3 minutes behind him!
