Active energy ( partial Activity) not syncing to Health app
This appears to be a longstanding problem, but I'm going to chime in. It seems that for some reason Strava (or Health app) picks and chooses what data to import from the Strava app. In my case the Active Energy and Heart Rate are not synced. Of course this results in rings not being closed at day's end even though I've expended time on the bike. What is also odd is that Exercise and Workout are now separated. So even though I may have exercised (Workout'd) for an hour, in a lot of cases it shows that I've only "exercised" for 25 minutes. What is frustrating is that the green ring is exercise and thus doesn't show my efforts. Who is doing the picking of what data to save from Strava? Oddly, the miles ridden DOES sync. Glad to know it, but it makes no difference related to the energy expended to ride those miles.
In the end, is this Strava's fault or Apple's? Or both? Seems like this began when I updated to iOS 12. I've rearranged the data sources to pull from Strava first but that doesn't seem to have fixed the problem. Any others with the same problem? Prior to this things just worked as expected. It's rendered my use of the Activity app (in iOS) pretty useless.
More than anything Strava needs to keep up with Apple. Seems like every other vendor of exercise related apps does. This is obviously a long lived problem that has yet to be fixed as evidenced by the posts on this site. We've all threatened to rescind our Summit memberships, but until there is a huge block of users that do so, things will remain the same.
